Stats don't show how a player contributes in our general play - Guly was, at the start of the season especially, vital to our link up play and bursting runs forward, continuously supplying Richardson for crosses, working hard down the wings and providing deft flicks and touches to continue our attacking momentum. Statistics are at times quite a restrictive way of judging a player's effectiveness in a team. Guly is far better all-round player than Barnard and to suggest otherwise is a bit weird.

On Guly - he was a vital, vital cog to our promotion this season, and especially the blistering form early on. He will prove a useful squad member at least in the Prem. Watching the 'Road to the Premier League' on Saints Player - he provided some sublime passes, assists, finishes and general play. Good player indeed.
