I see your point PG76 BUT LETS BE Real most teams announce players around 1st July as thats when the players contracts are normally up, i don't think were looking for cheap players, but were still trying to find a bargain, look at Butterfield got him on a free/cheap and he turned out to be better then Frazer last season who we paid nearly 1 mill for, despite it being obvious on his day Frazer is a better player but he didn't perform as constant as Butterfield, also look at RJ signed on a free has been a better player then Seabourne who cost around 500k i believe. Money doesn't mean success maybe we have spoken to a few players whos in there last year of contract or due to expiry shortly and were signing them on a free lets be honest we would have to spend alot of money to buy better then we have in certain positions, i see us signing a CB CF and a winger/wing back like JAR

Tim Spav acoring to football manager 11 would be a quality championship midfielder and good back up midfielder for the prem , in all seriousness he would be class and also Nile Ranger, hes already scored in the prem and would be a quality championship player and prem player in the future if he gets a full season of playing time. We let NR go because of attitude and behaviour and Spav at the time i believe we were under redknapp who disliked youth despite relegation and felt he wasnt good enough even tho clearly he was..

I think we should of signed him and loaned him out, hes a player who i think will be a decent championship midfielder if he gets the playing time but he wont be a top championship player or prem player. i love hammond and chaplow but if we really want to push for promotion we need someone better then these two, there do a job to get us a safe midtable postion and maybe a playoff spot but cant see them being good all season.

Leeds fans can be pretty bad but never had any problems with us, my best mates a leeds fan been to home and away games, met him outside the KOP at leeds never got any abuse except 3-1 when we lost and theo couldn't finish for ****. Millwall yea every time i been to a game vs these they always give it large offering fans out and seem as so they probs would fight anyone. Brum and NF well never seen us have a problem with either of these sets of fans.

Some people cant be serious about bridgey being ****, he would walk into our team and any team in this league and i would say at least 5/6 prem teams would have him as a 1st team regular.

Brighton will survie i believe but IMO that Murray is a young talent that if they kept him till Jan and he scored 10-12 goals in the 1st half of the season would of been snapped up for 4-5 mill by a prem club, hes gonna be a prem player who will ship in 10-15 goals, i feel there less of a threat now hes gone despite there replacements.

I think we have the biggest potential from the current crop of championship and prem clubs. Add Winchester Eastleigh Southampton and areas around there under the SO post code also Basingstokes Population we could easy get 28k a game this season if were doing well and in the prem if we became a top 10 prem team get around 38k plus close to 250k shirts being sold. agree about Lincoln have a friend that goes to uni there reckons they got potential to be biggish club for championship and league one but get attendance's like say bolton or fulham were they would get 15-18k on a average home game, even said hes seen quite alot of shirts about so they may do ok for shirt sales.

Agreed players would sign for a club they have heard of and because of there facilities before they would judge the manager, yes having a big name manager does help but hes a big name manager for lower leagues, we had Paul Sturrock in charge and under him we signed Crouch.

Well i think we have to ask ourselves on the Lambert argument would he walk into any team in this league ? Lallana and Fonte would for sure and AOC and MS would defo make the bench at worse, Lambert i feel would be a great signing for any team that got promoted or finished between 21st and 13th and any other team would have him but he would be 3rd choice.

would say if you had a top 20 MS and Snograss would be in that list i would love Snograss and Gradel from leeds if AOC went, that midfield would be a prem midfield if they were added to our current crop.

good news about brum i think Alex is a top manager was unlucky last season with injurys and his strikers being ****. NF im not sure if its good or not billy is a good championship manager and plays **** football so maybe if someone goes in and gets them to play nice football it may take them a while to adapt.
