This. It's a question for the Premiership, when we get there, and if we're starting to get sell-outs more regularly over the course of the season. For now we should concentrate on getting there and forget any stadium plans.

From what I've heard, Gray would have done a lot better without Wadsworth. He felt he needed someone to be his taskmaster alongside him as he had such a good relationship with so many players, that he didn't want that to cause problems but actually the opposite was true; Wadsworth shouted and bawled his way through the club and ******ed everybody off with his sergeant-major ways, backed up by bugger all coaching skills.

That is brilliant.

Whilst it doesn't tend to cover pure research articles so much, the Behind The Headlines section on NHS Choices is always worth a read whenever an article comes out in the press, to get the background and facts on a story, without the media spin: http://www.nhs.uk/News/Pages/NewsIndex.aspx We use it professionally and direct patients towards it when they contact us to ask about stories in the media. It's a good resource that needs more exposure.

Every death on every road in Great Britain 1999-2010
Minty replied to trousers's topic in The Lounge
I'm very fortunate to have not been personally affected by any death on the road, although I was the second car on the scene of a serious one on the Marchwood bypass a few years ago, by the junction with Twiggs Lane, which is on the map. Suffice it to say I will never forget that night. I think SuperMikey is right in that some details could be spared as they do not add anything to the impact of the map, but would make it slightly more sympathetic to those directly affected. However, I do think that it is only by putting things like this out there to highlight the scale of the problem, that we might actually start to get the message across to people who drive carelessly. -
Burrows uses Bradford, Hillsborough and Ibrox disasters to justify bubble
Minty replied to stevegrant's topic in The Saints
I think that's a fair point, and if you ignore who is saying it, I'm sure most fair-minded people would accept this as a possible explanation for his words. I think any mention of such tragedies has to be done very carefully and I wouldn't have done so, but I am pretty sure he's not meaning to say that violence was to blame for them... that would be incredibly crass and inappropriate. Sad fact of the matter is that in this day and age the Police are criticised from all sides, for things they do and things they don't do. The IPCC are called in seemingly every day to yet another incident because of allegations made in hindsight about a split second decision taken in good faith, or a perceived LACK of action by the Police, and as trousers alludes, I think in this case these preventative measures have been deemed necessary because of this increasing culture. And not necessarily because of Saints fans either... as we saw last time, Pompey like to kick off even amongst themselves! It's not right that law-abiding fans should have to go through this process, but sadly, a combination of factors and an increasing nervousness from the police mean I'm really not surprised that it is. -
Agree with a lot of that LD, and it's a shame that such an apolitical opinion is so rare these days as so many people seek to lay the blame at the door of one particular party or PM.

lol at some of you lot. Come on Saints, dig in and turn it around. I believe.
-
Some composure needed now, from fans and team alike. Panicking and overreacting won't help turn anything around.
-
Patience and belief. That's what is required right now.

If Lambert is out I'm actually quite looking forward to seeing how others fare, and I think our style is one which can adapt quite nicely. Whilst we do use Rickie's aerial ability in certain scenarios, like him pulling off at the back post for crosses and free kicks, it's not the only thing we rely on and while any team misses a good player, whoever comes in will bring additional skills. I'm confident.

Am I still on the Gary Speed thread? lol

I'll always remember him as the guy who players left their tickets with for any friends/family who were collecting them outside the players entrance at The Dell. I also worked with his daughter. Uninteresting but true.

Definitely a bit of cyber-stalking going on methinks.

A good-natured jibe towards the more keen posters, I would say dune. As for Donny, I can't imagine any side bottom of a league will ever be particularly optimistic when faced with the top side! [insert usual comment about not getting complacent and doing a professional job] I really can't see us not winning this one though. 2-0.
-
Can't see one, which is unlike you lot who like to get them up barely 12 seconds after the final whistle of the previous game! Depending on Lambert and Fox's fitness, I can't imagine there will be any changes to the side, but then who knows with our Nige at present. Probably the main question would be whether De Ridder deserves to start, but who would you drop? My prediction is that Fox will return and that otherwise we'll be unchanged.

The Union leaders have brought it upon themselves somewhat, by trying to make such a big deal out of it. As I said previously, the best thing they could do was the rise above it and publicly state that they were committed to negotiating on behalf of their members to try and achieve whatever they want to try and achieve, and that they would not be distracted by any unhelpful comments or opinions from anyone with nothing constructive to add to the debate.
-
Just a hunch, but I doubt we can safely label that 'the truth' just yet (if at all)...

'People of your ilk' dune? Another fantastic generalisation from the dune book of wrong.

lol, what point exactly? Have you ever thought about joining a debating society? (I await jokes about mass debating...)

July 8th 2009. That's when this thread started, with the two posts above. I thought it was worth taking a moment to contemplate just how long this has all been going on (and it was actually before that date, but that's when it started to tumble down). Alps' comment is proving to be spot on, and actually in less than 3 years... by July 2012 we *could* be 2 divisions above them.
-
dune, I suggest you read this thread more closely. You'll see plenty of 'lefties' being quite UNprecious and agreeing that the reaction has been over the top. So, once again, your irrational generalisations are completely wrong and misplaced, and that's before we get anywhere near your attempts to club all 'lefties' in a Islington bar together. It's really rather pathetic. I have some very good friends who are varying degrees further to the right than I am and I've had some good debates and conversations with them. All of them who've read your views think you're an embarrassment to genuine and well-thought out right wing views. Quite impressive really. I almost feel sorry for you. Almost.

Seems about the same as normal to me... it's never been the quickest, and usually it's the ads that slow it down.
