We're in League 1. I would imagine quite a lot of potential signings will be players we've not heard of, so I doubt you'll be impressed by many of them at all. Right now, until proven otherwise, I have total faith in Pardew, so I'll trust his judgement and ability to get the best out of the players he picks/signs.

Al went to Spain Thursday evening, he's not back until tonight... but he won't have any as he only started photography long after Matt finished playing. My first game as a photographer was Matt's testimonial, so I never worked on any games during his career proper. I don't know where those photos are now either... In theory I have them archived somewhere, but having moved house several times since then, I don't honestly know. I did shoot a few Eastleigh games that he played in also, but I assume you want a pic of him in Saints kit really? In which case, you'll probably have to go to either the Echo or Saints direct (i.e. saintsfcpics.co.uk as mentioned above). I'll have a look at home when I get a chance.

Well, it's not anyone's business right now, and that's not Pinnacle's fault. They can't rebuild anything until they own it. Whilst I realise it's unlikely, I think a few days delay to have the right to get the 10 points back isn't an unreasonable wager. As for a fortnight fitter, I do believe the squad were back before most others in the league, so i don't believe that is quite as bad as you make out either, even if training is not as focussed as it might be under the new manager. I agree entirely, and I'm sure Pinnacle are urgent to get things resolved. I just don't think it'll make quite as much a difference as you imply.

Signing the cheque, no, but I would be surprised if he didn't have some say in things, given his knowledge of the game itself and what is usually required in pre-season. Admittedly, he never did any fitness work, so this may be misguided...!

Pinnacle aren't stupid... they are the ones with the 5-year plan to turn the club around, and it is their money that underpins that plan, so if they feel, with Matt Le Tissier's blessing, that they can afford this time, then I see no problem with that. If any coach knows of something that can be done on the training ground in a few days that would make such a big difference to the fortunes of a football club, then they would be snapped up by the big boys long before now. We are at the start of a long rebuilding process and these few days won't make a blind bit of difference in the long run IMO.

Personally I don't see any major problem with it. We've been f*cked for months, so a few extra days is no big deal in the great scheme of things IMO.

I would suggest asking neighbours who they are with and if they have different results. Possibly get them to run a test at speedtest.net and compare. I wouldn't be surprised if BT are telling you that it's the distance to the exchange to keep you from switching, but it's impossible to know without looking at other ISP results.

Well depending on what you want to use the shots for, and how handy you are at editing, you can get neg scanners for less than £40 these days which will do a job.

I had a dedicated neg scanner back when i used to do it and that would be my only tip... to get a dedicated neg scanner! Never used a flatbed for it, so can't really help i'm afraid.

Used to, but not anymore... what do you need? The actual kit to do so, or someone to do it for you?

I'm no legal expert but surely 'we' (the club/Pinnacle) have a legal right to appeal the FL's decision, so to try and prevent us doing so is potentially illegal?

Just got back from SMS... I didn't get to go in to see any the bands as I was so busy with the photographs of Peter Rodrigues, but it was pretty busy and everyone seemed to be having a good time. Peter had his FA Cup Winners medal in hand (owned by the club now) and was showing it to amazed children (and adults!), many of whom got to hold it for their photo. Some of the looks on their faces as they touched the medal were priceless, even though none of them knew who he was that well, except maybe for what daddy had told them! We took photos underneath the club badge in the Megastore, alongside a picture of Rodrigues on May 1st 1976, running round the pitch at Wembley with the Cup, and the rest of the team, and so any kids who didn't know much about Saints' greatest day could relate to it (once mummy or daddy or Peter had explained it!). Peter was a thoroughly nice guy, nothing being too much trouble for him, and it was a real privelege to be a part of the day and help raise some money. Sadly I'm now off to a friends wedding reception so will miss the rest of the day and the evening gig, but Al de Man is down there all night so there'll be plenty of photos at some point.

Forgot about this game today so just loaded this thread and read it all the way through... made for very pleasant reading! Now, off to look at the scorecards...
