  1. As a Saints fan who spent some time in West Africa, you can totally rate to East Africa? You do know Kenya is in East Africa right...?
  2. Was told when the home went on sale it'd take three or four weeks due to Adidas not having them ready.
  3. Sounds a bit like yourself, good sir. Always the life and soul of the party aren't you? Well, you try to be.
  4. Tom Coull from the media department has said... - There was a pitch invasion by the Saints fans when Guly scored his 1st (there were 50 to 75 fans) - An announcement was made to tell Southampton fans to get off - They had two more invasions - One at full-time, a dash for Guly!!!

  7. V Kick-Off: 18:00 BST - (19:00 local time) Who are Palamós CF? Palamós CF means Palamós Club de Futbol. They are a Catalan football team from the small town of Palamós in Catalunya, a commercial port in the well-known Costa Brava. A 2001 census found that just under 16,000 people inhabit the town. The football club was established in 1898, making it the oldest club in Catalunya and one of the oldest in the entire Spanish league structure. Football was taken to Palamós by Gaspar Matas, who had been studying in England and formed the club on his return. Their first proper fixture came against a team of Englishmen who came to Palamós by boat. Palamós have spent the majority of their history in the fourth tier of Spanish football, which is where they are currently found. The Tercera Division is one division below previous opponents UE Llagostera. Since the formation of the current league structure, they have spent 6 seasons in the Segunda Division, 4 seasons in Segunda Division B and 14 seasons in the Tercera Division. Perhaps their most famous former player is David Belenguer, who went on to sign for Albacete, Extremadura, Celta Vigo, Real Betis on two occasions and Getafe - for whom he appeared over 150 times, including in La Liga. The club spent six consecutive seasons in the Segunda Division before incurring a two-division relegation as punishment for financial irregularities in 1995. They have contested two Catalunya Cup Finals, winning one and losing one. In the 1991/92 season they defeated UE Lleida 2-1. However, in the 1994/1995 final they lost to RCD Espanyol, who had signed Mauricio Pochettino in 1994, by a scoreline of 3-1. Palamós finished 3rd in their league last season. Using our league structure, they are the equivalent of a League Two side. Where do they play? Palamós play at the Estadio Nou Municipal, in Palamós. The ground is capable of holding just over 8,000 supporters. What are the club colours? Palamós' club colours are yellow and blue. They have sported numerous variations on yellow and blue stripes and halves in recent seasons. This season they are wearing a yellow shirt with a thick blue stripe, with blue underarms. This is accompanied by blue shorts and yellow socks. Again, I hope you found this quick post on Palamós interesting.
  8. http://chalkontheboots.wordpress.com/2013/07/18/keep-pressing-forward/ Very thorough and well-researched by a non-Saints fan who usually covers La Liga.
  9. Hahahahaha holy **** that's hilarious
  10. Llagostera are a Segunda Division side. Palamos are a Tercera Division side. So technically Llagostera are better than Palamos.
  11. Time for the first match thread of the season. I'll try and give you a bit of background on Llagostera too, while we are at it.... V Who are UE Llagostera? Llagostera, or Unio Esportiva Llagostera to give their full name, are a Catalan football club. They were formed in 1947 and have enjoyed a rapid rise, with five promotions since 2005. They currently play in the third tier of the Spanish pyramid, which is then split into four groups. You could probably say that applying it to the English system, it's like splitting League One into regions. They compete in a section with the likes of the Espanyol B/C/D teams. They currently play in Segunda División B – Group 3. Last season they finished 10th out of 21 teams, racking up 50 points from 40 games. This was a decline on their 5th placed finish the season before, which earned them qualification into the Copa del Rey. This is the highest level they have played at, and they are enjoying their third ever season at this level. Interesting Fact: Some players are unavailable at times due to also representing the club's hockey team! Where do they play? Llagostera's home is the Estadi Municipal based in Llagostera, within Girona. It has been the club's home since February 1948 and has a capacity of 1,400. What are club colours? They play in a home kit of red and blue hooped tops, blue shorts and blue socks with maroon bands. Their away kit is all-white. The Club Anthem Llagostera! Llagostera! Forward! 14. From one of tomorrow's papers in Spain...
  15. Redknapp chasing Carlton Cole and Richard Dunne. Why does this not surprise me? T'riffic lads, both of 'em.
  16. Anderson takes Agar. Australia need 104 runs. England need three wickets.
  17. https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=BXG0PW7l69Q Someone mentioned this online, and Saints Head of Communications Jim Lucas has asked what this is about. Someone has provided him with the video. Fans telling him to forward it to Cortese. Ooh err.
  18. Correct. When writing an article you typically type a name in the search and select from what is provided. Getty Images do have one of JWP tagged as 'Luke Shaw'. I've found that error myself when writing and using their images.
  19. Simon Peach has found out that Saints received £1.75m for Vegard Forren. We paid Molde £3.5m in January for him.
  20. Really, why didn't he reject it earlier if so? It can hardly come as a surprise to him that his heavily pregnant wife has given birth?!
  21. Norwegian press reporting a press conference called by Molde. Many of them suggesting Forren has signed for Molde on a permanent deal. Vegard Vaagbo - Norwegian journo who broke the Forren to Saints story: Massive rumours in Molde suggest the club's buying Vegard Forren back on a permanent deal.
