  1. Not just me then, the past few have been odd. A few times I've had to F5 the page and find where I was.

  3. Something a bit lighter - and nice to hear... From WhitbySaint on 606... Due to where we live, we dont get to see the mights saints as often as we would like, but my six year old son was compensated for this yesterday when he received an hand written letter and signed items from the legend that is Rickie Lambert. Just thought i would mention this as this not only made his day but probably his year. Little things like that goes a long way as the thought of him just taking the time to read my sons letter and reply means a lot. Just something genuinely good to hear, and getting away from a lot of clap-trap on here atm. Rickie always seems a modest and great guy.
  4. I don't think I will ever believe it was Rafa's choice to sell Xabi Alonso.
  5. Adding to that - whilst Cortese and Reed are registered directors of the holding co - there is also this... From Wiki: "He is now Executive Director of the Club and one of four members of the Board."

  7. Link: http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11700/8088482/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter Bologna general manager Roberto Zanzi has revealed that Italian clubs were unable to compete with Southampton following Gaston Ramirez's deadline day sale. Saints completed a club-record deal to bring in the Uruguayan after a protracted pursuit during the summer. Zanzi says the offer was too good to resist, while he was also pleased to bring in a quality replacement in the form of Alberto Gilardino from Genoa. It may have been something of a surprise that Ramirez headed to the Premier League rather than continued his career in Serie A, but Zanzi insists Italian clubs are not as financially strong as their European rivals. He told Tele Radio Stereo: "Ramirez knew that we would have sold him only with certain conditions. Such conditions happened only at the end of the market and so we had little time to act in the market. "Despite the difficulties we were able to do a nice job by taking Gilardino. "Ramirez accepted the Southampton offer because he couldn't refuse. "Were there proposals from Italy for Ramirez? The economic situation of Italian football means at the moment Italian clubs are struggling to make similar proposals to those coming from abroad. "Gaston eventually opted for the Premier League."
  8. Lallana played badly? Been out. Then again, is his missus due today? Maybe his mind was elsewhere????

  10. From The Independent: However, it has not all been positive for Southampton this week as Guly do Prado hit the headlines for the wrong reasons. The 30-year-old was banned from the road for a year and fined £2,500 after admitting drink-driving in the early hours of August 27 in Southampton. Asked what action has been taken against do Prado, Adkins said: "That has all been dealt with in-house. "We obviously view the matter very strongly. We've got a high level of discipline here at Southampton. "The players are all well aware of the role model status that they have and obviously we've dealt with that in-house straight away. "He understands and all the players are well aware and Guly knows not to do anything detrimental to the club, the team or yourself. "You face the consequences of your actions and he certainly felt the consequences of his action within the football club, likewise in the public domain."
