  1. Is this a sarcastic thread ?
  2. Which departures would worry you ? Me : Cork Schneidelin Boruc Clyne Shaw J-Rod Puncheon on current form, I am somewhat "meh" about the rest..
  3. Deary me. The July 1st date for the squad to be more-or-less fixed is nonsense, if the next season strategy and management line-up is still unclear going into June. I am absolutely convinced of NCs and MPs intent, but unfortunately it is not all under their control. They need the agreement of the Liebherrs.
  4. If you mean the aircraft, we can at least take comfort in the news that England will have a second flying Lancaster by next summer, hopefully.. Look up NX611 "Just Jane" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_surviving_Avro_Lancasters what the UK really needs is a flying Mossie.
  5. FFS, what a load of hysterical cobblers. Maybe the players we are interested in and their agents drag their feet until it is resolved ?
  6. I agree.
  7. This. The BBMF flew over my house in Swaythling when I was a kid. Heard it coming a couple of minutes before, got outside as it went over. Hairs on my neck standing up now thinking about it. The sound is utterly incredible. I really hope Peter Jackson gets on with the remake of the film in the next year. I want to hear 4 Merlins in THX or Dolby Digital, on full blast. EDIT : Wasnt the BBMF Lancaster based at Soton airport for a week last summer ?
  8. Nope, not ignoring it, just failing to see how that is possible in the current landscape of uncertainty.
  9. Firstly, I thought this was a BBC article, not the DM... Secondly, if you dont like my reaction, stop stalking my posts and ignore them..
  10. Why shouldnt the off-field shennanigans mirror those on-field ? We should have been safe weeks ago (maybe we were as things turn out, but its easy to say that with hindsight - we should have been pushing for 50points). We also threw away the NPC title last year.
  11. Sorry, most of this post is garbage. The beneficiaries of his will are not those elements of the family that he "cut himself off from", but his own descendants. They are the ones who have been brought under the (probably unwelcome) spotlight by these events. They could have cut us off at the knees once the probate period was over, but they havent appeared to have done that, and there is no indication now that they are looking to sell (unless someone comes calling with a good offer). There are a multitude of possible reasons why they havent signed off on NCs vision, from the bad publicity he attracts to the sheer cost. We dont know which it is, or if it is something else. So give you stroppy contrariness a break, FFS. I'd rather have owners like them than the mixture of w*nkers and loonies like Lowe, Wilde, Askham, Crouch, etc. that we had so recently.
  12. Well, maybe.... A bit too forcefully expressed, imo. We have a lot to thank the Liebherr family for.
  13. Openess and honesty has nothing to do with it. They are intensely private people. They dont want any journalists interrogating them. At lot of German-Swiss industrial families are like this; look at the Quandt family who own BMW.
  14. I dont think it will work... I dont think the Liebherr family will be swayed like this.
  15. Cant have it both ways. His relationship with NC landed him, who would you expect him to be loyal to ?
  16. Sorry if it sounds like flag-waving, but I watched the film last night and for me this one of this countrys finest moments ever. The whole attack, including the weapon, was put together in 10 weeks. they had to fly at 60ft in the dark, and drop their bombs at a precise speed in a window measured in cm Astounding. All 133 men who were involved are heroes, and Barnes Wallis was a f**king genius. Oh, and the dogs name....
  17. Address the point, FFS. Would you go to a club not knowing who is running it or coaching you in a few weeks time ?
  18. For me the management and financial uncertainties make any imminent arrivals seem unlikely, if not impossible.
  19. If NC has taken this public, he will have lost a lot of trust and respect from what is a very private family, and the working relationship is over.
  20. Those of you trying to pass all this off as part of the contract negotiations for NC really dont get it. It looks to all intents-and-purposes like NC has taken this public, an impression made even more strong by MPs untimely and unhelpful intervention. The discussions should have been kept confidential. IF NC has caused this to leak to get some leverage for whatever reason, he is likely to find the Liebherrs dig their heels in and be even more insistent upon change. This is not looking goood...
  21. This. How anyone thinks decent players will sign for us when they dont even know who will be managing the team, come pre-season start, is beyound me.
