  1. In fairness, there appears to be sufficient mugs and tourists around in London to pay it. Average league attendance is 60,100 and capacity is 60,400, according to the article. Simple issue of supply-and-demand. Though clearly they are bell-ends, especially if games are televised, but its up to them.
  2. I had to read that twice...
  3. Something that seems to be spectacularly misunderstood, even by the Southampton management....
  4. This so needed another thread.... I agree with your prioritisations, however.
  5. already a thread, friend.
  6. And a signed contact from Puncheon And a clear indicator of who first-choice GK is (if we are not buying)
  7. Well, to continue with the discussion in a meaninful manner, it seems to me it is best to discuss each story on its merits from a theoretical perspective, assuming it to be true. Its not me who stomps on to here writing "Oh, its only the genitally and intellecutally disavantaged Nazi journos at the DM causing trouble - ignore", is it ? Who is trying to get the rise ?
  8. You know it, I know it, a few other clued-up people on here know it. But you'd be surprised the amount of posters on here who would get uptight about spending too much or not bringing in better than we have (despite the fact the CB cupboard is currently bare) who want us to poooove around and wait until 6.313ns before the window slams shut...
  9. I think you'll find he brought in the likes of Murty first.
  10. Says the person who wrote in a hissy fit they were never going to reply to me again....
  11. This. And just how big is this game to drag your feet on something like that ? FFS.
  12. Great news, pleased for the club, but who gave sticky power to NickG, who doesnt even pay for the privllege to use this site ?
  13. Talk about the happy-clappies cherry-picking their paper gossip..
  14. Well, nothing is going to happen now for the Villa game, which for me is going to be the watershed of this season. It doesnt look good, imo.
  15. Yep. Even Pardew knew you build from the back. And the whole Mayuka/J-Rod/Sharp constellation is plain ridiculous.
  16. If we dont make some signings soon, I'm gonna start believing this crap. The continued absence of reinforcement suggest NC is planning to go away over the summer and lick his wounds if we are relegated, and either way re-group for next season.
  17. Gaston and Mayuka havent exactly set the league alight, so I think my skepticism is understandable. The committee is a load of b*ll*cks. NA should pick the targets, since he has to work with them and fit them in. NC should close the deals to get the best terms possible for the financial state of the club. And thats it. I find the notion of Reed sticking his oar in and NC having some input on the players quality and ability to fit in somewhat bizarre.
  18. Right, so the inference here is our transfer activity may not be just focused on Italy, it may be focused on who Cortese knows.. I have to say, that is a very Central European way of doing business. It fits.
  19. So you really think having an Italian chairman and being utterly focused on the Italian league for transfer activity is PURE coincidence, do you ?
  20. What so you reckon NA tracks Italian football that closely, do you ? I think I have an idea about why we've been struggling so far this season, then...
  21. This is fair enough. But I would have expected the initial impetus for the enquiry for a player to come from the person who has to train him, fit him in to the team play and make it work, basically. and for the chairman simply to make his wish come true. These persistent Italian rumours make it sound like NC is choosing the targets and giving the job to NA to make it work. And look how well that has functioned so far...
  22. Its a reasonable question. I just wonder if NA has heard of half of them before the "Committee Meeting"
  23. Agree about Barnard, Forte, Seaborne. Dont agree about Chaplow. Think he offers something still Doubt about Butterfield. Agree about Dickson Dont agree about De Ridder, seems to be back in contention due to injuries and Mayuka is away. Agree about Richardson and Fox Disagree about Hooiveld and Sharp. Totally. Who is going to partner Yoshi whilst Fonte is injured ? This fictitious 10m CB we are lining up ? And Billy, well, that was f**k up of the century letting him out on loan, still time for the club to wake up. I hope the club finds its balls to fight off approaches for Shaw, but the 20m for Carlos Kick-A-Ball and his mate has to come from somewhere. Maybe that means a reprieve for Fox as well then WTF is really going on with Lee and Puncheon anyway ??? Yes, Yes, Yes, No (we are one Boruc Brain-Fart away from him being back in contention), No (injury back-up) Cloud cookoo land with both of them. They are both dug in deeper than an Alabama tick.
