Jesus, talk about complacency. A point at Chelsea and some people are already assuming PL status next season.
-
Of course, and over the next 3 games there is no chance of us slipping back, is there ?
-
So why arent we just going out and putting our money where our mouth is, like other clubs do, and getting the reinforcements in very early in January so as to maximise our points earning potential during the games of this month ?
-
Is it pretty much done ? To me it seems to be dragging on. Maybe its a bit sloppy to draw national stereotypes, but Norwegians arent touchy prima-donnas like S. Americans - why are the discussions taking so long ? How many more games will slip by ? Your comment about the August transfer activity just tells me that some Saints fans will dogmatically draw a positive from anything. They could have used that time to get "Saints Fit", or get used to the EPL pace of game. Maybe this thread is a couple of days premature, maybe not. Time will tell. But having been on due notice for about 8months about CB weaknesses and lack of options, I am seriously wondering if expecting something in the next 2 weeks isnt pushing the dogma a little.

"Saints considering Mauricio Pochettino" - Daily Mirror
alpine_saint replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
I dont want no Argie at my club. Especially as we are about to kick off with them again. As others are saying, there are only 16 games left. Madness to change things about now. I do suspect NA will leave over the summer though. -
..should we scrape up to above 18th place, when it comes to the transfer discussions, and possibly(probably) lack of activity thereof, can certain individuals stop banging on about "seeing how we get on, identifying weaknesses over the first few months whilst keeping in touch with the pack, and addressing them in January" ? The January window simply...doesnt...work. Especially for a tardy penny-pinching club like ours. We are now at the 18th and imo are no nearer signing a player to address one weakness, let alone the 3 or 4 we really need. You have to indentify where you need players, who you need, make the finance available and sign them; f**k what the other clubs are doing..

Saints only club in PL without undersoil heating
alpine_saint replied to once_bitterne's topic in The Saints
Yes, but as the article indicates, we may lose nearly 500K in TV revenue if the match is postponed. Its not a trivial amount. I thought the necessary pipe-work/heating elements were put in place, but they simply werent connected up to the required heating source (guess whose bright idea that was...) ? How difficult must it be to really get going ? -
Olly Lancashire's shock tweet about Southampton Football Club

And that Olly Lanacashire has a grudge. -
Beginning to look like the decision not to acquire an additional GK during this window was the right one. Well done NA. Nevertheless, lets hope those CBs come in so we can shut up shop in each game.

Puncheons goal also reminded me of MLT. -
Proud of the development of this team and manager

Agree with most of the sentiments of you post. If we can add a bit of quality in the remaining 2 weeks of this window, mid-table is a distinct possibility. Would be nice to enjoy the last half-dozen games without looking over the shoulder. I think NA took a risk tonight, but pleased for him it paid off, and hopefully will now pay dividends in terms of motivation and spirit amongst the players. -

When that 2nd half line-up so altered the game in our favour ? Seems unlikely. WTF, no-one is interested in a balanced discussion tonight, so I'll give up. Well done Saints -

I am pleased for NA and the team that their game plan worked out. But come on, it was very, very risky. If we'd got thumped, it would have had a bad effect on our confidence going forwards. -

Not convinced. You play your best team. By the time NA decided to throw on SRL and Gaston for their 110% we could have been 5 down and Chelsea could have been over the hill. Reckon NA would even admit we've been a bit fortunate. But its about time we had a visit from Lady Luck. -

Stunning management ? We're 2-0 down, 35mins to go, and our 2 best players on paper are on the bench. FFS, even you would have made those subs. -

Partly. But then maybe if it had happened earlier, or we played our best players from the start, perhaps we might have won -

Fantastic fightback. Well done lads. Now I am impressed. Left wondering about the starting line-up though... -
Wtf !!??!!

This.

Turning out every bit as hopeless as we expected, Probably will end up as bad as the FA Cup score, with accompanying dent to new-found though mis-placed post-Villa confidence. Our CB solution is now 8 months overdue and counting.......

No dislocated shoulder then ? Great news.

Fancied her rotten in my teenage years.

Only if we have another LB lined up. Shaw is injured.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-21028776 Have the FBI come down on McTiernan (Oooo, he lied to them...) for making them look like utter bellends in the original Die Hard film, and to a lesser degree Die Hard 3 ?
