  1. Because the entire control system is fly-by wire (electrical). If the engines cut out, how would the pilot control the plane for a gliding landing ? Imo Boeing have rushed the 787 programme because they were seriously losing ground to Airbus. Lets not forget they only won the massive USAF next-gen tanker contract because the US Government shifted the goalposts when Boeing started whining.
  2. Would have thought fee agreement was the start of the process, not the end. Personal terms and medical come afterwards.
  3. I love the seriousness, pretentiousness and reverence with which people discuss Bowie's "art". Have you all forgotten The Laughing Gnome ?
  4. The Tubes - wasnt that the band whose lead singer always gets his knob out ?
  5. In principle this seems the right way to go, but imo if NA has doubts it should act like a veto. He has to train and work with the player.
  6. Yet losers like you still bleat about my posts....
  7. Its all they have.
  8. Good piece of analysis, this, it means something unlike many of NickGs dribbling musings (though his last one was pretty good too). Has definitely made me feel more optimistic than I have in a while.
  9. My sympathy for HMV has just evaporated with the news that they are doing a Comet and not redeeming gift vouchers.
  10. I am surprised he didnt ask her if she wanted to pay double, as well. Then that would have really summed up the impossible situation HMV is in.
  11. What a bellend. Though in fairness, there are similarities in accent between Afrikaaners and Dutch.
  12. Yes, but we've currently got Yoshi, Hooiveld and...erm, nope, I'm done.
  13. I feel really bad about this happening. Used to love flicking through stacks of vinyl and the T-shirts at HMV down by Debenhams. But iTunes and Amazon is so much more convenient and cheaper. Just like Kodak with cameras and film, HMVs time has gone, sadly.
  14. Yeah, even I like the sound of this one. LOL at the Scouse bell-ends who dont want him because we are in contention. They really have British Empire-scale misplaced delusions of grandeur in Liverpool.
  15. Can he play defence ?
  16. The Cramps at Reading in 1992(3?) were incredible. Thunderstorm kicking off, Ivy with her belly dancing combo on, and they go do Surfin' Bird. EDIT : It was 1990 and they were supported by Faith no More. F**k me time flies. What a night that was.
  17. Superb. I just spat tea all over my monitor. This story has to be made up. I mean, I know the Krauts are all basket cases, but this story is something special.
  18. Do f**k off. For me, the latter. When his drive and energy was really needed, he decided to have a brain fart.
  19. Well, apart from the fact that you fell at the first hurdle, as I discovered this morning, our relegation rivals also play 7 games at the same time as us (well, they play 6, but who cares), and some of them are facing bloody nightmares too.
  20. This from someone who values the site so much it isnt worth 10 quid a year.
  21. Red Hot Chillipeppers, Wembley Arena, 1996. F**king awful.
  22. Hmm. Stand-alone, I dont see much cheer. All draws except Readings win. However, what has cheered me up is looking at those results and then the next 2 rounds of games (3 in our case). A saultory reminder that whichever bastard teams we have to play, our rivals have also to play bastard teams or have 6-pointers against relegation rivals
  23. You short for time ? Where's your customary speech ?
  24. Indeed. It would have been a 0-0 draw, or perhaps Benteke wouldnt have felt so much pressure and made a hash of the open goal he had at 90 +5...
  25. Based on 3-4 months unequivocal evidence of where the squad weaknesses lie, backed up with the last month of sustained injuries, and the fact that we are half-way through the window and no-one has arrived or is even close to arriving according to the Rumour Mill.
