How can you be so laid-back about the abuse received ? Every...f**king...summer. Every one. Except maybe when Pardew took over. The club totally neglects the defence, then maybe gets an inkling in pre-season that there might be an issue, then runs round like headless chickens trying to address it. Only this season, imo, we didnt even do that last step. For me, this summer is the worst example of this I've seen since that Scottish drunken **** actually started a season with no signed central defenders and we got mullered by an average Crystal Palace side. And every...f**king...summer, we received the same abuse from the same suspects, and are told the reinforcements will inevitably come before the window closes, along with all that utter, utter crap about all activity happens in the last 1 minute 26 seconds before the window shuts because each club needs to understand what they've go and where they strengthen before deciding who to release. Here's a thought. If we really want to bounce back to the PL next season (and to be frank, I dont..), lets take our destiny in our own hands and sign the f**king players we need, not what becomes available when 50-odd other teams have finally sorted THEIR squads out.

Its a good point. In fairness, I oscillate between wanting NA out with wholsale changes in January for lots of money (if its not too late), and voting for the status quo and letting fate take us to where we are going. Compared to some of my crusades on here in the previous 2 season, I reckon I've been pretty low-key about our predicament since the transfer window shut.

Agree about the PL, and our last tenure. But think you over-rate our potential.

You dont know that. Last time NC changed manager it worked wonders. -

Dunc, I have called for Hoddle several times. -
Everything's relative. It was good being in the top 2 all season, but we spent far too much time looking over our shoulder, giving sub-standard performances to fellow top 6 sides, and we blew the title.
-
Actually, its not. Those factors were part of the thinking behind my OP.

3 promotions in 5 years after arrival of Al-Fayed's cash - very similar to us. OK, their attendances are a bit below ours so far this season, but they have more recent PL pedigree than us. For me its a score-draw. Neither is bigger than the other.

The results of their efforts were highly successful for a couple of seasons, so I am not screaming for it to change even though it isnt currently working. Who Knows ? It may click next week and we avoid relegation. But I will still feel that we would be happier back in the Championship

Adkins and Blackpool would be a good match, imo. He's back on safe territory with a proven track record at that level, they get a superb manager for that level. NC gets rid of NA, no big payout due to amicable mutual separation recognising the achievements of their working together without rancour. Everyones a winner -
Jesus. If you are going to troll, at least focus on it properly. You quoted my use of the word "operation" in the question, and I answered it with that post. Are you behaving deliberately stupid ?
-
There you go again. I carefully used the word "operation" in my post and you quoted it in your question. Do pay better attention.
-
My point exactly. But do you deny WHam are "bigger" ? I think it is not easy to compare us with the likes of Stoke, Norwich, Fulham, and confidently conclude either way.
-
Thats like me saying "Who is bigger, Manchester United or Stalybridge Celtic ?" anyone can take two extremes to give a ball-achingly obvious example.
-
Gazza Clyne Hooiveld Yoshida Fox Mayuka Cork Morgan ? Ramirez Lambert Really stuck for LM, for me Lallana should be dropped.
-
Why are we ? Who judges ? What criteria ? Its all f**king subjective. What is "big" anyway ?
-
Oh, go on then.... The people ? The decision making ? The scouting ? The contract negotiations (were we so desperate to get GULY to renew that he has a "must play" clause) ? The non-playing employee relations ? I could go on...
-
You two make a superb double act. Post #41 is a work of genius.
-
No, just a slight reaction to your persistent trolling. Expressing my reaction to your codswallop, not attacking you. Completely different and not suprised you cant see the difference. Anyhoo, you can have the last word you are so desperate for.
-
No, I just wrote that I dont give a flying f**k about the frothing drivel you write any more.

Everyone can have a crap game; lets see how he responds against Swansea.
-
Hoddle has stayed in coaching, and he has been coaching youth players for the future too; he hasnt walked away from the game. Dont accept your argument.
-
Whatever.

A very good post; it is a genuine dilemma. When I conclude NA should go, it is with a heavy heart and not without risk. Btw, I agree with the conclusion you've drawn too. This situation is MADE for Hoddle.
