  1. Let J-Rod go (busted flush for me), but keep Gallagher for him and keep the rest until January to see if change of management brings about changes in performance.
  2. To me its clear the charge is "laying on file", which means that if Liverpool make any further efforts, we will trigger the PL to take up the issue again and present whatever extra evidence we have. It seems all 3 parties understand, if not accept, that this is the way forward. This also means, IMO, for him to leave for Liverpool, they will have to pay the 70m we are demanding. Since this expectation has gone public, our board are going to look extremely stupid if we accept less. The very public statements by Nicol and Aldridge can be interpreted as their own personal opinion and they are being simply mouthy, or it is a back door effort being orchestrated by LFC. Its difficult to prove which, which means nothing will happen over this. This sort of leaves us in control, IMO, but looking a little over our shoulder for a VVD strop which has or has not been encouraged / aggravated by the press breifings from the likes of Nicol and Aldridge. I would rather Chelsea just come in and offer the 70m, tbh. I dont want him to go to LFC,and the situation I have outlined above could lead to him going at any minute, including 1 day before the transfer window closes.
  3. I doubt very much Liverpool's involvement is as passive as that...
  4. I see the press briefings from Anfield have started again.... Articles in both the Times and the Telegraph today. It really is time for them to be banned from the transfer market.
  5. Daily Mail seem to be inferring we have the best home kit this seaosn.
  6. That betting list is so depressing, I'd even go for Brendan Rodgers
  7. We are stuck between a rock and a hard place. Bring in a manager with a half decent track record who wants to establish himself in the PL, they will stay 2 seasons at the most. Take a risk on someone less established, it might not work out as planned. The next appointment is quite important because the club feels like it is in decline again and we need to stop the rot. Seeing as most names being touted are the same as last summer, and the one interesting name has ruled himself out, I am not filled with optimism.
  8. Hey everyone, look at meeeeeeee....
  9. I thought the delay in sacking Puel (and gifting the competition 4-6 weeks head start in the transfer market and pre-season preparation) was down to making sure we knew who we were going to replace him with ? Classic SFC shambles
  10. A fair summary from our perspective, but on the other hand, if he cant motivate and inspire us, what do you think he did to the players ?
  11. Puel is the scapegoat. Reed is responsible with last summers awful transfer activity. Puel did OK with what he had at his disposal. A new manager will achieve no better, or a lot worse, if we have another summer like the last
  12. What justifies that smugness ? You've made it persistently clear you see Puel as the right manager, and we've made it clear we will only stick with him if we find nothing better. Hardly a ringing endorsement..............
  13. A difficult patch entirely of his making.
  14. Yep. And for all those bemoaning the predictability of my thread, perhaps its worthwhile pointing out that their responses are always the same over-spun "the club knows what its doing" postivity too. We finished 8th last season because the rest of the middle-tier clubs were even more sh*t. We failed to get out of a god-awful Europa League group. Yes we got to the League Cup final, granted, but it wasnt THAT great a season, compared to beating all the top clubs and finishing 6th the year before, ahead of Chelsea and Liverpool. Last summer we did poor business on players and manager.
  15. And ? The content is incorrect ? Are you impressed with how the club conducts itself during the summer ?
  16. Hard to disagree...
  17. Yep, lets just have this drag on....and on....and on....and on...
  18. Because its always the fecking same
  19. We do sod-all to keep our players. We leave our transfer activity so damn late We dont even handle management changes very well. Is it deliberate ? Does the club deliberately leave the fan base desperate so that when cheapo replacements are brought in a few weeks before the first match of the season we are so grateful that some stability is being generated that we are too stupid to notice the huge amount of asset stripping in the sales vs buys figures ?
  20. Its what people from Liverpool do. Throw their weight around then start blubbing when someone stands up to them. How dare a club like Saints do this...
  21. Is anyone capable of a reasonable estimate of how much his 6 year contract has added to his value, or is it not worth the paper its written on ?
  22. Except last year already offered enough evidence that our luck is running thin when playing that particular game.
  23. Cause-and-effect, old chap. The club falls into a coma every summer, missing managerial and player targets while the executive procrastinates and counts the profits.
