On the BBC today, a report that the Large Hardon Collider in Geneva has to be shut-down for a year (and god knows how many billion Euros funding) to address design flaws which mean it cannot fulfill its purpose. Are we really supposed to believe this was an oversight ? The scientific community are a self-fulfilling joke.
