He’s been told this numerous times but continues to ignore it, insists Russia’s economy is thriving and that had we been involved militarily we’d be sent packing after one weekend.

When I saw this thread had been bumped I hoped it would be at least a rumour of some sort, oh well. It’s like we ordered Dusan Tadic from wish.com, I’d let him go for pretty much any offer if it gets him off the wage bill.
-
If, and it’s a big if, there’s any truth to these rumours I really don’t see much to be upset about. This Turkish lad would just be a replacement for Willy/Lewis as third choice ‘keeper, hardly golden boots to fill. Anyway, nobody’s ever seen him to know how good he actually is. Antti Niemi, Nick Pope and Jordan Pickford have been relegated so I wouldn’t read much into that. If Fredericks is just cover, that’s hardly a tragedy with Liv being out long term. He’s no worse than Pied, Martina or Targett as FB cover.

He can cut his teeth elsewhere and come back if and when he excels in the role. We aren’t a coaching school, we need people who can come in a know what they’re doing immediately. As for a year on the pitch; no.

The Chinese Saganowski?

It was always very hard to get behind people whose main qualification for the job seemed to be, "is here already and we like him." Good luck to them but something had to change. I remember watching Tino’s debut in a pre-season friendly when he came on, darted forward and provided an excellent assist in the first thirty seconds. After a small celebration I though, "we’ll we’ll soon coach that out of him," and it’s basically how it transpired.

It is an astonishingly lucky coincidence though. Here we are, a club with no money to spend, and we just so happen to have a manager whose dream signings are half the price of all our rivals. There's not one player in the world who he rates over £15m.

How about Sheffield Wednesday? Can’t remember losing to them at home.

Keeping Track of the Contracts 2024-25
Lighthouse replied to Over land and sea's topic in The Saints
Last year Saints announced their retained list on June 4th, just for reference -
They used to have a couple cracking strikers on Championship Manager c.2003-05. Anyone remember Kakalov and Todorov (not the P*mpey one)?
-
I’d take neither.

West Ham went down in 2003 then up again when we went down, so we just passed like ships in the night. Don’t remember a cup game so guessing we didn’t play them at all between 2003-11. It’s got to be Palace, surely. They were a season behind us getting promoted but aside from that and league 1, we’ve been together since 2004. They’ve been here in the cups a few times too.
-
2. One of them has to be MK Dons. 3. Norwich surely
-
Other way around. Got to be Bolton I'd have thought. We would have played them four times before getting relegated and we certainly lost the last two. Think they beat us in a Cup game some time in that lower league quagmire.
-
Or more likely, he’s been seeing Ralph day in day out for the last year and is quite capable of having a proper goodbye in person. We weren’t in a relegation fight, he wasn’t vital to staying up.

543 Premier League appearances between JWP and Romeu.
-
Funny you should say that, with 10 minutes to go yesterday 46 points and a -7 GD would have put us… 15th exactly where we ended up anyway. Late goals against Villa and Brentford mean Puel’s team would have finished 13th, above the Bees on GD.

I believe the zookeeper just said no missionary position, to reduce the risk of airborne, face to face transmission. They’ve relaxed it now that we’re all vaccinated.

Nobody is going to sell those players at anything like what we can afford. Danny Ings was a 29 year old with injury problems who just about averages in low double figures, when we sold him last summer. Even Long, when we signed him 8 years ago, was £12m (about £25m in today’s money). We can’t afford decent players with PL experience, we just can’t.
-
So your point is nothing to do with experience, you just want better players. We have experienced players at this level, they just aren’t very good. My mistake, typo.
-
So what are you saying? Saints have got 3 or 4 experienced players, over 30 but we need to be more like the top teams, who have 3 or 4 experienced players, over 30?
-
That’s basically the antithesis of what we’ve been doing recently. Hardly anyone we’ve signed recently has been a player we’d realistically expect to sell for a profit. Liv being the exception but if you think we shouldn’t have signed him for £5m you need psychiatric counselling. We have signed an experienced, 30+ player in Walcott. He’s just useless and hasn’t developed the squad at all.
-
So you think a premier league team having £22m to replace their best defender and striker is perfectly reasonable, Ralph has just spent the money poorly? There are much better players out there for that price which Ralph overlooked?
-
You think the club will just let players leave on a free when we can’t afford replacements?
