I get that but it’s still a different team, in a different place on a different day. We could play any given team at St Mary’s, five Saturdays in a row, and get a different result every game. Why is every saying this and not how amazing our win at Brighton now looks.
-
I don’t agree with people comparing our results to others quite so simplistically. This season we’ve done better against: Man Utd than Chelsea and Leicester Liverpool than Norwich, Newcastle, Arsenal and Burnley Brighton than Spurs, West Ham and Watford Sheff Utd than Everton, Palace, Bournemouth You can sit here all day making comparisons like that. We have plenty of faults but other results really don’t mean anything.
-
I don’t think it’s any factor whatsoever personally. We’ve had players go on strike to go and live in places like Sunderland, it’s all about the level of football and the money.

Don't have kids. If I did I'd like to think there are better ways of disciplining them but I'm not judgmental of people who do. Every child and parent is different and there are probably a few little brats who need a short, sharp shock. More importantly, the thread title would make a great band name.

Well, I did say he would get sacked by Christmas I said that in 2014.

Adams is 10 years younger and already a better player than Long. For a start he can hit the ball vaguely in the direction of that big net. Adams hasn’t scored in 7 games, Long is easily capable of 7 months without a goal.
-
Pretty sure we threw away at least 12 results after the 85th minute last season.

Disagree on that. Gatwick is only 20 mins drive closer to Brighton that we are to Heathrow, not something potential players will really care about (and even that's assuming they don't take a direct flight/connection to SOU). Brighton is nice but hardly any more appealing than the New Forest if you're stinking rich. London might hold more appeal as a City but not Brighton. Ultimately it will come down to the same basic question. Who's paying the most money and will I get are they a stepping stone onto even more money. Ironically, our USP for signing decent players used to be the fact that we sold them to Liverpool.

Probably something to do with wanting £40+ for a game which is on TV. I think I must be getting old moaning about the price of stuff but that seems a bit daft to me.

I can only assume his agent got hammered one night and phoned a few journalists.

Not wanting Saints to sign a player because they’re too old, then realising they’re younger than me. A girl I went to school with’s daughter has just started year 7 at same school. The fact that I could legally **** a woman who wasn’t born on 9/11. Anything on Radio 1

Silva has been charged with misconduct by the FA. Basically the black 'victim' of this 'crime' wasn't offended, so a bunch of mostly old, white men in suits have taken it upon themselves to be offended on his behalf. Presumably if someone posted a picture comparing a young De Bruyne to the Milky Bar Kid or Rooney to Ralph Wiggum, they would also be charged for their offensive remarks.

What's your best saints XI using players since our PL return

I'm guessing that's just a theoretical line up, I'm pretty sure J Rod missed that whole season. -
That's a 33% increase in points! Seriously though, I'd say that's more to do with the fixtures. Look at our home games; Chelsea, Man Utd, Liverpool, Leicester, Bournemouth and Everton. None of them are easy. Hughes by comparison had failed to beat Brighton, Burnley, Leicester, Watford, Newcastle, Man Utd and Chelsea when he was sacked.

Who would you take back and what would you pay for them?

Chambers is the only one I'd be interested in, the rest have had their heyday. -
I think scoring seven away to Spurs would highlight the shortcomings in most teams attacking creativity, if I’m honest.
-
Probably doesn't want to get himself cup tied for that big move to Real in January.

Cracking game at the moment. I notice Austin is on the bench for the Baggies and no sign of him coming on when they need a goal either. Having a slow start to his career up there.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49825166 Cardiff ordered to cough up. Really poor on their behalf and any empathy I shared with them has long since been eroded.

Top six? I think most of the variations on this thread would win the League. Perhaps not the last two years with Liverpool and City being almost untouchable but that team is easily as good as the one Poch got to third. -
Glasgow stuck a tenner on it but he's already cashed out for £50.

Boruc Clyne - Toby - Virgil - Bertrand Morgan - Wanyama Mané - Tadič - J Rod Pellè Subs: McC, Lovren, Shaw, Redmond, Davis, Lallana, Lambert -
For the gamblers out there - Mason Mount is guaranteed to score in this game.

I think it’s just general apathy and having to watch poor football for three years, which is rapidly starting to look like four. I just don’t feel excited going to games anymore.
