  1. It's quite comical really. You genuinely believe that players from Hull, Watford or Stoke wouldn't leave to play for a top 6 club, if they were good enough.
  2. We don't, Britain is a centre-right country and has been for a long time. We haven't had a proper left wing PM since Pompey Jim and his winter of discount tents.
  3. Why does this remind me of Michael Fialka...
  4. I though 'Boaty Mcboatface' had warned us all about the perils of democracy but apparently not.
  5. In 18 months, when they're in administration, he'll deny he was ever there.
  6. Straight out the 'Arsenal defending crosses' textbook.
  7. I wouldn't be adverse to selling Long, Austin and J Rod. I don't think the first 2 suit Puel and J Rod just hasn't been the same player. With their combined wages off the books, I'd hope we could get someone in significantly better.
  8. There isn't room for Gabbi, Austin, Long, J Rod and Sam. I'd say at least 2 of them will leave in summer, probably 3 before we get another one in.
  9. Gobern
  10. Good end to the season for Saints players who are scared of flying I guess. Just need Hull down and Reading up really. P.S. Congrats Brighton, welcome. Now run along, you aren't our rivals.
  11. I remember seeing a topless dance off during some freezing midweek Championship game against Sheff. W. about 10 years ago. Apparently the protagonists were called Bully and Tango Man and are both local celebrities, of sorts.
  12. Perhaps he's going to join Monks and Beatts at Leeds. I'd have him here just to teach our current lot about movement and shooting, TBH.
  13. That's what I said. The knickers will become moist when we don't sign 2 replacements for Gardos and Fonte/MC. Virgil staying/leaving is a separate issue.
  14. One, subject to VvD staying or leaving. Although many on here will expect us to sign 2 and wet their knickers when we don't. On the wildy optimistic assumption that Virgil stays it's going to be him, Mystery Man, Yoshi and JS. Given that choices 3 and 4 are performing adequately at the moment, I'd be happy enough with that.
  15. Fairly obviously just cover for our first choice CBs and with nothing to play for, other than whether we finish 8th or 12th in midtable, we might as well give JS some game time. Seems fairly sensible to me and a reasonable save from the cock-up in the transfer window. Doubt either MC or FG will be here come August.
  16. Absolutely, bear in mind plenty of other clubs have been where we are and seen it all go to pot. In the last 15 years Blackburn, Bolton, Boro, Fulham, Newcastle, West Ham and Wigan have all managed a season or two of top half / cup final / European run and been relegated. We're on for 4 straight top half finishes, which is no small achievement, and everything in place to make it 5 next year.
  17. So we could end up like Man City? Sat in a sterile stadium of 55,000 people, half of which are glory supporters eating prawn sandwiches, whilst the away fans are singing, "where were you when you were sh*t etc." Not that I'd go very often, when they start charging £60 a ticket. I actually feel sorry for Man City fans; the hardcore who've seen their team lose a league game against Lincoln City. Now they can't even wear their own colours around Manchester without some local Chelsea fan shouting, "mate, you're f**king sh*t!" I'm quite happy to be a stepping stone for some of the best talent in Europe TBH. I'd much rather that than spending utterly obscene amounts on the likes of Pogba, Stones and Sterling. Or worse yet, a final payday for players like Wes Brown and John O'Shea.
  18. I'm fairly confident of a defeat here but the pressure is massively on Chelsea now. Even a draw could put Spurs within striking distance ahead of the next fixtures.
  19. Pipping Everton to 7th and a cup final has to be the ambition. We aren't going to beat any of the big 6 clubs, unless they have an off season like 'pool and Chelsea last year. A bit of managerial stability and a stronger squad would be nice. Move on some players who aren't performing and bring in some fresh faces to replace them.
  20. Got to wonder if him and his agent wont be angling for a move away in summer, he really is struggling to adapt to Saints and the English game in general. He obviously has talent but delivers so little, with his poor decisions and attitude.
  21. It was only 13 anyway, 10 in the League.
  22. Puel hasn't had a goal scorer for the large majority of the season, whereas Koeman has the league's top striker. A bit harsh to try and compare really but I don't think Koeman would have done a lot better with this squad.
  23. Was that before or after Chad Kroeger became their drummer?
  24. Remember that game well, I went nuts when Beattie's header went in at the end.
  25. Strangely, I had a dream about him a couple of nights ago. We were 1-1 away to Juve in a European tie and brought him on as a sub. He scored the winner then ran around the pitch waving his car keys in the face of Juve players, telling them all he was rich and had a nice car.
