  1. On another note, what an embarrassment Arsenal's support is. Saints fans are calling each other snowflakes for not wanting to watch the last 2 years of abysmal football and yet Arsenal fans apparently think 6th in the League, a cup final and a Europa League QF is so far beneath them they're not even turning up.
  2. West Ham were without Carroll and Hernandez and Antonio hobbled off after 7 minutes but still put 3 past us by half time. This team isn't even trying, I really don't think we've got any straws to clutch. Even if Palace and Udders lose ALL their remaining games, I still think we will finish behind them.
  3. I want to say yes. I've had some amazing times as a Saints fan, both at home and away and met some great people as far away as Dubai and Latvia. I can deal with the ups and downs, relegation and promotion. Where I struggle is losing to big clubs and having to listen to their smug, cocky fans. Nothing more irritating than listening to some Bristolian kn*bhead gloating about how his team in Manchester beat mine because a Chinese banker spent the cost of a Eurofighter Typhoon on some Portuguese midfielder with a sh*t haircut and history of sex offenses. That's the worst thing, the whole soulless feel of the place. That's all we are now, an investment for a banker to keep his money away from the Chinese government. I don't have the heart to go to games anymore and I'm not sure I'd want to inflict the same on my children/grandchildren. That said, you can spend over £50 watching Miley Cyrus miming for a couple of hours, so someone's going to con them out of their money eventually.
  4. I'd go 4-3-3. Sims and Tadic playing off Gabbi. Hoj, Lem and Rom in the middle.
  5. That's like saying Cedric has been awful recently, so we were wrong to get rid of Martina. 5 League goals, whoop-de-doo.
  6. This. Our build up play was appalling, just hoofing it anywhere up the pitch. They weren't even hoofing it at him in the vain hope that he'd win it in the air and hold play up, it was just smack it over the halfway line and that'll do. Which sitters did we miss? Admittedly I only bothered with the first half but I don't remember getting any meaning full possession in the right post code to get a shot away.
  7. Cheaper tickets next year.
  8. Done! Good night.
  9. Aimless hoofing, this is absolutely f**king dreadful.
  10. Of f**k off, this is just awful!
  11. He's never really been an aerial predator and isn't especially tall. Not saying he isn't a threat but if a 5'11 bloke is having a field day in the air, it's really a bad day. Personally I'm just happy Carroll, Hernandez and Collins are missing. Also, their bench is dreadful.
  12. Liking that, glad Gabbi is now back in favour. To think that Muppet MoPe preferred Long and Carrillo.
  13. I think Putin is more than happy with the situation, it's straight out of the dictator's handbook. Chapter 1: Find a foreign enemy to galvanise the population and distract everyone from domestic social and economic issues. He doesn't actually want a fight, he's basically doing what Kim is doing. I'm guessing the British government have some pretty strong evidence, as we don't really have anything to gain from a false flag operation. I'm sure the Kremlin are more than capable of having spies bumped off but that's not to say they don't make mistakes occasionally.
  14. Hoedt is better than Stephens. Not amazing but better. Bonus points for the way Diouf stamped on his foot, so he came back 5 minutes later and put him in hospital. I think Yoshida has a couple of goals against the Hammers too, so I’d have those two given choice.
  15. Long, Austin, Carrillo, Boufal, Gardos, Pied, Forster, Clasie, Davis.
  16. Boruc Clyne - VVD - Toby - Bertrand Morgan - Vic Mané - Lallana - Rodriguez Pelle Hard to leave out so many players, so my second string would be (when in good form of course) Forster Cedric - Fonte - Lovren - Shaw Lemina - Romeu Gabbi - Davis - Tadic Lambert
  17. Should have expanded on that, the reason he was off balance was because of Young knocking against his hip, hence people are saying he was already going down. That on it's own wouldn't be a foul but standing on his foot is. I've seen plenty of dives where the attacker threw his leg out sideways to make contact and bought a penalty but this wasn't one of those. His foot was planted on the floor when the foul happened. It was clumsy from JT and it was a definite foul.
  18. The cringiest moment for me was when they played at Wembley, didn't open the upper tier, basically gave away most of the tickets, half of them didn't turn up and claimed they had "sold out Wembley," because all available tickets had been sold.
  19. It's a penalty. Young knocks him off balance and Tarkowski stands on his foot. It might not have been deliberate but it's still a foul.
  20. Tarkowski stood on his foot before he went down. It's a penalty. It may not have been obvious on first viewing but it was a foul.
  21. Depends entirely on the age of the person you're asking. For example nobody under 50 is going to remember much of Emlyn Hughes, nobody under 40 Kenny D, nobody under 30 Ian Rush etc. I could name these players but if someone asked for a Liverpool player who stuck out in my mind it would be Gerrard.
  22. He's the only one of our current strikers I actually want to keep. Hopefully he has a decent run in the side and sticks around. He's Austin, not Van Nistelrooy.
  23. I'd sell Boufal anyway, personally.
  24. It’s never stopped Nasri or Firminho.
