  1. Pardew had us 2nd bottom of League 1 (even without -10) with a stronger team than that.
  2. I’d have thought they’d be more interested in flinging it at their own players/staff/owners these days. Perhaps we should all bring a pint or two along to chuck at the players, or perhaps even a pitcher and some plastic cups to share around.
  3. Doesn’t necessarily mean he is wrong in either instance. Changing your mind doesn’t make you wrong. Not changing your mind when presented with overwhelming evidence to the contrary makes you wrong.
  4. I honestly think we should all vote Jordie Clasie as a protest.
  5. 2 fundamental errors here. 1. You seem to be assuming that a club 8th in the premier league is worth exactly the same as one bottom half of the championship, minus the £75m for Virgil. He wouldn’t even get half of £125m when he try’s to ‘walk away from the club’. 2. You seem to think GAO got every penny of the £75m into his personal account, up front, no questions asked. For a start 20% of the club is still Kat’s. Celtic get a big chunk, £10-15m was quoted, not to mention the various other fees involved in trading a player. Actually three fundamental errors, your also assuming there are no laws against what is essential fraud, money laundering and doing a runner from a company which is essentially bankrupt with hundreds of millions in embezzled cash.
  6. Because Boufal is a show pony who does little other than tricks and head-down dribbling which leads to nowhere. The real question is; why aren’t Sims and Gabbi starting?
  7. It’ll be good practice for next season.
  8. I notice this is another game deemed too big for tw*t-haired dildo nose. Shame.
  9. As a plan goes, that’s like buying a successful airline and selling all the planes to make money. Selling all the best players will do nothing but hurt the company. How much do you think Saints will be worth if were bottom half of the Championship with nobody left worth selling, only average players on big contracts, who nobody wants, like Long, Carrillo and Davis.
  10. Correct. The idea that the owners somehow make a massive wedge of cash from going down is absurd. Remind me again which billionaires made their fortune from buying expensive, successful companies, ruining them deliberately and flogging them for next to nothing when bankrupt?
  11. If I was a position in my job where someone above me was overruling my decisions on the main elements of my job description AND doing it very badly AND allowing everyone else to think it was through my own incompetence, I’d resign immediately. Only an utter mug would allow that kind of situation. You might as well say MoPe is a top European manager but Gao emails him the team sheet and tactics the morning before each game. Or perhaps Forster is The worlds number one goalkeeper but he is under specific orders from Gao to wait one second before diving for any shots.
  12. All of our recent trips NE have been decent. Won at Boro and Sunderland last year, think we beat Sunderland with a late penalty the year before, there was the year Eljero Elia scored two at SJP, a draw at Sunderland which basically ensure our safety first season and I think another 1-1 at Newcastle one year. Not too shabby overall.
  13. He’s been in a non-playing role for 18 months now. I struggle to believe he had no input on the coaching side at all, before Black was fired.
  14. Forster has been underperforming almost continuously since Kelvin joined the coaching team, so why would he be any tougher on poor performances than MoPe is now? If anything I’d worry about him being too cosy with all the players and staff and being ‘one of the lads’.
  15. We’ve been decent in the North East since we got promoted, aside from that Fox/Hooiveld ‘mare in our first season back up.
  16. Genuine question, which bids for our best players did Cortese turn down? It’s the first I have heard of this.
  17. With MoPe, as ludicrous as it feels to say it, we could scrape our way to survival through bore draws, a surprise win or 2 against an underperforming crap team and (mainly if we’re being honest) because 3 other teams are even worse than us. With Kelvin and Rahdi we could easily become a hopeless, 6 straight defeats, relegation team like West Brom or Villa and Sunderland in recent years. One was a championship goalkeeper, the other is a mediocre U23 coach who really hasn’t moved any mountains even at that level. Cue the "yes but Adkins.... don’t need to be a top player to be a good manger... but you never know... etc." Posts but for every Adkins, Wenger etc. There are a thousand Dodds and Wigleys. It’s the managerial equivalent of being in massive debt, so scraping together the last of your savings and sticking it all on 23 on a roulette table.
  18. Said in summer I’d have sold Jay Rod, Long and Austin, then started afresh with Gabbi and 2 new faces. A goal shy nobody from the French League wasn’t quite what I had in mind but I stand by the original sentiment. If we stay up I’d try and offload him to someone else who will take a punt on him staying fit and try and find a more reliable player.
  19. No, I for one wouldn’t be behind them. That would be the cheapest, worst thought out, cop-out of an appointment since Wigley. I have no idea what Kelvin is supposed to bring to the club as it is anyway. I’m sure he’s a nice bloke and popular in the dressing room but he’s not exactly a font of world class goalkeeping technique.
  20. Right so, when we got spanked at home by Spurs, Man City, Arsenal, West Ham and West Brom under Puel; if we had comfortably won all those games we’d still be 8th but that wouldn’t change your opinion of Puel at all. On the other hand if a bunch of other fixtures on the last day, which had nothing to do with Saints, had gone differently and we’d ended up 13th, that would mean Puel was a worse manager.
  21. Poch - 56 points, 54 goals, +8 GD, 8 points behind 7th, 23 above relegation, entertaining football Puel - 46 points, 41 goals, -7 GD, 15 points behind 7th, 12 above relegation, boring football Yeah, they were basically the same.
  22. No. The right man would have this team around Burnley in the League. A very good manager would be giving Arsenal something to think about.
  23. Pellegrino Long Fat kn*bber who sits behind me in the Northam Warm p*ss in larger bottles Still no petting zoo
  24. Yes, that’s exactly what I’d do. If he takes us down, do you think he is the right man to get us promoted?
  25. I don't think you've quite seen the point of my analogy, so I'll try and simplify: Doing something good doesn't excuse you from doing something else much worse. 2 wins against, for e.g. Spurs and Man Utd in the semi and final would not make up for 38 games of abject dross in the League. Yes, it would be a great achievement but the fact that you would judge him on those 2 games and ignore the long list of hopeless league performances, I find remarkable. What logic are you using here? If he won the cup, would that make him the best man to get us promoted from the Championship? Or would you just reward him for winning the cup, regardless of how he performs next season?
