Chelsea were absolute gash in the second half. Fair play to the Hammers they played pretty well too but Chelsea were awful.
-
No idea where you were sat but I was near the top of block 42 and all I saw was about half the people around me clapping and a couple of laughs when he was dancing. Most of the people who were stood up for the game had sat down. Maybe you are surrounded by a more excitable crowd to me but I never saw anything close to an astounded frenzy. People got more excitable over those two horrendous misses during the round the pitch relay.

This has got to be a wind up, surely nobody can take themselves this seriously. It's a man dressed as a dog dancing like an idiot whilst half the fans were casually clapping along and occasionally laughing. The way some of you are going on about it you'd think it was like kids at a Punch and Judy Show. Just for the record, THIS is an embarassment to football, not a dancing mascot at HT.

Beckham considering Premier League offers...
Lighthouse replied to Dibden Purlieu Saint's topic in The Saints
I'm not entirely sure the Beckham replica shirts fly off the shelves quite so quickly these days. He hasn't played for a decent team for 5 years and hasn't made an England appearance for 3. Who actually watches MLS? Who would care if he joined Southampton enough to spend £50 on a Beckham replica Saints shirt? He just isn't the world superstar in his mid 20's who signed for Real Madrid's Galacticos. The school boys of today will idolise the Messis, Ronaldos and Rooneys of the world rather than a player they haven't seen play for 5 years. -
That was pretty good. Loved the irony of a dog dancing to a song made in Korea.

Didn't England do that in the 1970 world cup? Don't think I'd bring anyone off unless they're knackered, injured or it's tactical.

The Champions League dream could get a little bit more realistic
Lighthouse replied to The Kraken's topic in The Saints
True. It's feasible but I don't think it's likely. We've already tried having 2 groups stages in the CL but it was dropped because teams complained about fixture congestion. -

It would only take one extra knockout round to half the number of clubs, so it would be feasible. I actually quite like the idea as it seems most decent teams in the EL couldn't give a flying f**k about it and end up resting their best players for domestic league games anyway. If they were in CL with considerably more prize money at steak there might be more interest. On the other hand the group stages would be a bit predictable with only 1 or 2 decent teams in each one. No more groups with Ajax, Man City, Real Madrid and Dortmund. Instead you'd have Barca playing Maribor, Dnipro and Viking Stavanger. Not all that exciting. -
Yep, I think the 7 days rule for reds is to allow the club time to appeal. Obviously you can't appeal a yellow so there's no need for a delay in the ban. That's my take on it anyway. Definitely want a song for Marian too. Would love it if he was getting involved in the club in some capacity. He must know everything there is to know about physiotherapy.

Keep any eye out for Suarez being booked in Liverpool's game. I think I'm right in saying he's on 4 yellows and another would see him suspended for our trip to Anfield.
-
I'll take that. Looks like 4 sh*t performances from those results, Villa and Reading certainly were. Win tomorrow and we could go 15th if Wigan lose. 14th with a big win and a loss for the barcodes.
-
4 draws. We need everyone around us to be dropping points. Who knows which teams will still be in the relegation fight come the end of the season.

Not just hard work is it, a lot of it is down to the natural tallent and coordination most top level footballers are born with. I'm sure there are people out there who have put in twice as much effort as Barton (and many other Premier League footballers) and ended up stacking shelves in Asda. Just look at our 2005 FA youth cup finalists. Bale is one of the best players in the world, Feli Condesso doesn't even play professionally any more. Is it because Bale worked harder? I doubt it. P.S. I have worked in Marseille and spent a healthy amount of time with a cold glass of something next to the pool. All without the dodgy Inspector Cluseau accent.
-
What? Money? No amount of cash will change the fact that the bloke is a complete plank. As for tallent, he probably had the ability to play for England on a fairly regular basis but ruined it by having a sh*t attitude. Something he regularly seems to boast about on twitter.

Listen very carefully, I shall say zees only once...

Remember him rolling around like a girl in injury time of that JPT game instead of getting back to defend a free kick. We scored.

That's good to know. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uf0lLKoZRYg

Nobody believes it's that simple. As Steve said, many of them have probably had a pay rise well above their market value so will be unwilling to leave and take a pay cut. Doesn't mean we shouldn't try to offload some of them. Players like Sharp, Hammond and Chaplow will be in fairly high demand by teams trying to get promoted from the Championship, it's all about getting the right price and wages.
-
I don't think ours do based on this season's evidence.
-
Will be a much tougher game, Norwich are in better form at the moment and wont have the injury issues Newcastle had. I wanted 4 points from these 2 games so a draw wouldn't be too bad. Still a winnable game though. Same team as Newcastle, injuries permitting. If Rickie has a knock I wouldn't risk him, he is sure to be fired up for Saturday's trip to Anfield and we will need him 100% fit to get a result up there.

I seem to remember Tevez scoring against Mexico in the world cup when he was a clear yard offside. The lino missed it but a replay was shown on the big screen, which all the players and officials watched. However the ref wasn't allowed to change his decision based on a replay and the goal stood. The Mexicans went mental, it nearly started a riot.

Just spent half an hour browsing that website. Good for a fair few lols although the SFW bit probably isn't entirely true.

Even if we sold all of those players, which we wont, it still leaves us with a fair amount of decent back up. 2 'keepers, Richardson, Jos, Fox, S. Davis, JWP, Mayuka and J Rod. That's a first team squad of 20 players. With 3 or 4 new signings that would be a pretty strong squad. In reality I think we will see 2 or 3 players sold, a couple of extended loans and maybe 2 or 3 signings. Also I forgot to add Butters to the list of players who can leave.
-
There are a few like Mayuka, JWP, S. Davis on the fringes of the squad who will no doubt stay but there are a fair few others who can't get near the first team. Who do we think might or should move on in January? Hammond - On loan for the season but I'd have thought a permanent deal with Brighton would make sense for all 3 parties. Sharp - Same as Hammond, can't really see him getting a look in here. Barnard - Loan expires in January. Would look to sell. Seaborne - Only on loan till the day after we play Reading. I was never convinced by him in League 1. Would look to sell. Forte - Not even named in our 25 man squad Dickson - As above De Ridder - CDAJF a Championship club, wont get a look in here Guly - We have better options now and should probably look to find one or two more in January Chaplow - Is he good enough, does he fit our current system? Don't think so. Lee - Maybe he just needs time after his injury. Not sure on this one, he did look good in his brief spell last year.

It's a photo shop. Apparently there is an aircraft with that registration but it's a small prop in a museum in Arizona. http://johnhumephotography.zenfolio.com/p566535760/h14840D84#h14840d84
