Torn on whether I want Bednarek to go or not. On the one hand he’s clearly a decent Championship defender and will be useful next season. On the other, I’m just so f**king sick of watching him put in consistently sub-standard performances, season after season. He’s been the avatar for our atrocious recruitment since 2016.

I think we need to stop thinking of academies as a route to the first team for promising youngsters and more as a source of income for the club, which is basically what they 99% are these days. If we can turn profits on the likes of Tella, Meghoma and SAA then it’s relatively successful in that regard.

I don’t think anyone is denying that (although the situation with Japan and the Soviets made it somewhat more complex) the point is that Trump wouldn’t have changed the course of history, had he been president. The Axis basically made it inevitable.
-
At the start of WW2 most Americans were more than happy to stay out of it. That all changed in one morning with Pearl Harbour, Trump could never talk his way around the red necks after an attack like that.

Decent goal from City that, well worked and patient. 30s later, Arsenal back in front. Game's woken up now. Edit: I'll never understand defenders turning their backs on a shot. Seems to end up in a deflected goal more often than not. Man up and take one in the tits.

Because it's like winning 'man of the pre-match warm up'. It's not a competitive game, so there's very little to be read in 'winning' it. All you're saying with the second part of that post is that there's basically no correlation between having a good pre-season and being a good player. I never implied that having a good pre-season indicates you can't be good but if Mo Salah and Mario Licka can both look excellent in pre-season training, then it's really not much of a barometer.
-
Are you new to the Sun's particular concept of journalism?
-
I remember Mario Licka being our stand-out player in pre-season once. Those games are just friendlies for building fitness and integrating new players, being good in them doesn't really count for a lot.
-
As with Meghoma and Tella it seems like a tidy profit on another player who's never actually done anything here. Makes sense I guess.

'Problems' could cover a wide range of scenarios, including private family matters. Hopefully it's nothing too serious and we see him back soon.
-
Potentially a good time to play Brighton, they've got Chelsea at home twice in six days before they play us. We'll see in those two games how much of a glass chin they've got, following a 7-0.
-
What a weird non-sequitur argument that is. People also wrote off Carrillo and said we should be aiming for better, that doesn't mean he's in any way comparable to Chris Wood.
-
If you say so. Personally I see very little difference between our performances and results now, compared to ‘my boy’.

Martin had five, Juric has three. It it wasn’t for a Muric horror show, Ivan would be on seven defeats from seven games, let’s not pretend he’s been a revelation.
-
Agree. I can’t say it really feels like a breakthrough, given how poor both teams were and Muric handing us goals on a plate, but a wins a win and I’ll take them however they come. Hopefully Ivan can steer us towards another 6-7 points and we’ll be just another crap, forgotten team with a sub-20 points tally.
-
Get in Saints! Muric our MotM by a mile. First points in the yellow shirt too.

W00T!!

Two completely different managers want nothing to do with him, even when we have injuries and Bree playing CB every week. Whatever his problems are they’re clearly substantial.
-
Weirdly, just like Burnley, they’ve sacked Dyche and immediately stopped being sh*te. It’s almost as if he’s not the tough, pragmatic, hard to beat, proper old school manager that some like to fantasise about.
-
Why would you sell two decent Championship CBs when you’re trying to get promoted from the Championship?
-
Leicester could be getting spanked today.
-
I agree, there's nobody in our squad who's let the club down more than Stephens this season. Everyone else, as crap as most of them are, is trying trying their best and basically playing at the peak of their abilities, ABK excluded. Being suspended for nine games (ten if you included the minutes he missed in the games he was s/o) in half a season is just pathetic.

You don't just 'get' safety critical aviation jobs. Even if you pass the selection process you have to go through years of training with an instructor sat behind you at all times. You wont be fully signed off unless those instructors are completely satisfied you can handle any situation safely on your own. I know people who've been involved in pilot recruitment and it's no secret that they want more female recruits. It's also no secret that they taken in entire batches of nothing but white men, because they were the only ones who met the required standard. The FAA may well want to hire more 'diverse' controllers but if they don't meet the full competency standards it's a moot point. You can hire a thousand black lesbians but if none of them reach the standard required all will have to be let go. It's not like any run of the mill admin or logicstics role where you can just stick someone in front of a computer and hope they do a vaguely competent job.

An interesting move, given how little interest there was in him in summer. Good luck to the lad, an obvious candidate for a goal against us in April.

It’s clicking but in the same way that my ankles click when I get out of bed every morning.
