Signing Gaston Fonte and Puncheon turning out to be decent when I had doubts in the Championship. Coming from 2 down to get something at the Bridge Steven Davis proving to be a disappointment. I thought he was our shrewdest signing of the summer at the time.

I never got the signing of Seaborne. I know he was young and left footed which vaguely fit the bill of what we were looking for at the time but he wasn't exactly what you'd call 'good'. Even the Exeter fans didn't rate him that highly and were completely bemused as to why a team with Premier League ambitions would sign him. Good luck to him though, he put a decent shift in which is more than you can say about some of the garbage we've had.

Gordon Bennett what a game that was. Luckily I'd had a few to numb the pain and the weather was really nice, in the low 20s for an evening game in September I think. Seem to remember everyone chanting for a substitution for about half an hour before Pardew eventually sent on Rasiak and Saganowski with 5 minutes left. I reckon that was pretty much the lowest Saints sank to. Losing at home to Bristol Rovers a couple of weeks later was pretty bad but at least we were in that game.

Has Jos done anything to deserve being dropped for a complete unknown? From watching the goals tonight, neither of the ones we conceded were his fault. Infact for the pair of them he put in a pretty strong challenge to deny a goal scoring opportunity moments before. I'd be tempted to give him a chance for now, until he puts in a stinker.

It's normal for a new aircraft to have a few glitches. The 787 is more revolutionary in its design and construction than most previous Boeings so there will perhaps be a few more that with others. As long as this doesn't end up falling out the sky, like the Comet, the DC-10 and the Electra I'm sure they will sort it out. Airbus have had similar issues with the A380. Cracks in the wing structure and an engine demolishing itself in flight were perhaps a bit more dramatic than normal. I think the days of electronic media being bought in shops are limited full stop. You can already download all the music, TV and film you want online. I honnestly can't remember the last piece of music I bought in a shop but it must have been 10 years ago. Why go all the way in to town (when the shops are open) and buy a CD for £2 when you can browe and buy any song you want on itunes for 99p. Surprised HMV sell any at all. I think eventually printed media will go the same way. Most people will have some kind of tablet, smart phone or kindle type device and will download all the books and newspaper articles they want on to that. It's here already, you can already subscribe to some newspapers on itunes. The Sun for example is £5 a month, about 18p a day and marginally less than the paper format. Once that becomes the social norm newspapers will pretty much die out. HMV as a high street shop has been living on borrowed time for a while. It's just natural high street evolution, eventually they will be completely obsolete.

Strange because some of our worst performances of the season came after he was banned. The 3-2 collapse at home to Villa, the 4-1 game at Fratton (would have been nice to have had 1 player who didn't bottle that), the 3-0 loss at Blackburn where we didn't manage a shot all game, the Man Utd cup game where we didn't even turn up.

Yes, 10 games was ludicrous, especially as the original offence was only a 1 match ban for a second yellow. Joey Barton only got 12 games for 3 counts of violent conduct and Roy Keane got 5 games for deliberately going out and ending Haaland's career.

No, nobody every did that. He was built up on here because he was captain of the England U21 when/just before we signed him. Nobody gives a sh*t about him clapping the fans apart from the people who say, "people only like him because he claps the fans." I thought he had the potential to be a decent player and seemed to be improving but that 10 game ban and his bad injury the following season completely derailed his career.

Anyone know who is out of contract in summer? The only ones I know for certain are Davis, Puncheon, Forecast and Butters. I'd be trying to shift Barnard, Butters, Seaborne, Forte, Dickson for certain as they don't even get on the bench as back up these days and are well down the pecking order. There are a few others if we sign a better option, like Davis, Martin, Fox and Chaplow
