  1. You are my hero.
  2. A couple of opinions on Strinic FWIW. Croatian fan: "Strinic is one of the more criticized players on the Croatian NT. He is decent going forward and does have a good cross, but at times clumsy in defense. I think at Dnipro they sometimes use him as a midfielder." Ukrainian fan: "On Strinic - I've seen him a few times this year - often looked one of Dnipro's best players despite their bad year. He's consistently been a good attacking left back"
  3. As it says on the tin, add the most incredible photo's you can find.
  4. Game will restart at 6pm UK time.
  5. There's only 1 thunderstorm in the whole of Ukraine at the moment and it's happens to be right over Donnet'sk. I reckon if they give it till 6 it should be clearing up.
  6. I'll remember him for the penalty save in the 6-0 game at Molyneux and pulling off a couple of great pen saves in the shootouts in our JPT run.
  7. If Shaw is to progress into the side, he will have to prove he is worthy of a place in a Premier League team. He shouldn't get in just because Harding isn't that good. Clearly Shaw wasn't ready for the first team last year and he is even further from the Premier League. I think if anything he should be loaned out a team in League 1 or 2. In the mean time, I fail to see the point in hanging on to Harding if he clearly is not good enough.
  8. Warnock could well be the one to take a punt on Barton next season, if QPR decide to get rid. Barton, Warnock and Leeds would be a nice convenient, easy to hate package if Barton's ego could handle the concept of not playing in the Premier League.
  9. Dickson is a mid-table League 1 player Harding is a mid-table Championship player Fox is a very good Championship player. Are any of them Premier League quality? Fox possibly and he'd be a decent player to have in the squad, but definitely not the other 2. As Adrian says, signing players on the back of a decent tournament is a risky and often silly business. It's just an internet HCDAJFU discussion so what the heck, I've no idea how good Strinic is. Hang on, I'll ask some Ukrainians.
  10. Another Euro suggestion, Ivan Strinic. 24 year old Croatia LB seems to have a bit of pace and one heck of a cross on him. Plays for Dnipro in Ukraine so would be a realistic target IMO.
  11. She (yes she, her surname is Michaels) is a checkout assistant at Debenhams on Queensway. As far as I am aware, she is not ITK.
  12. Which was based on an Irish folk song called 'Johnny I hardly knew ye'. It's the same tune, but it's hardly nicked.
  13. Players wage demands will go up a disproportionate amount because of this, I get the feeling most clubs will end up out of pocket.
  14. A 27 hour round trip to see a pre season friendly? That's hardcore!
  15. That looks far too narrow for my liking and I think we'll get battered defensively. Lallana isn't one for tracking back, it'd be like having 4 strikers on the pitch a lot of the time. A front 6 of something like this would be more likely. Gives us a bit more width and we like to play with the 2 sitting central midfielders. We need someone better than De Ridder starting on the right though. Not Guly. - - - - Cork - - - Morgan - - - - De Ridder - Lambert - Lallana - - - - - - Rodriguez - - - - - -
  16. Kind of highlights the pointlessness of this discussion. With only 1 signing, it's basically just the same team as last year, but some people have wedged Rod into RM because there is nobody else. I think he will start up front with Lambert with Sharp dropping to the bench.
  17. Last year I correctly guessed Leeds at home, so I'm going to say that again.
  18. Forecast Butters - Seaborne - Fonte - Harding De Ridder - Hammond - Guly - Forte Barnard - Sharp
  19. Raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnn!!!! Sorry
  20. Let's be fair to alpine, it is getting very difficult to do his job. Saints have just got promoted twice in 2 seasons, we're back in the Premier League, investing heavily in infrastructure for the future and we've just broken our record transfer fee on one of the most promising young tallents in the football League. That was at the beginning of June too, so he can't even complain that we're leaving it too late. I think we should be supportive of alpine instead of slagging him off. Come on alps! You can come up with some world class negative, inaccurate bullsh*t if you truly believe in yourself!
  21. Where's your whippet gone? etc.
  22. To the tune of that 'Hey baby' song Jaaaaay Jay Rodriguez Ooh ah .... Can't think of a last line.
  23. I said Yarmolenko on the first reply to this thread. *Blows own trumpet* I've seen him play for Dynamo Kiev a few times, he is absolutely quality. Like Lallana but taller, stronger and faster. I doubt he would be interested, but I would die of over-happiness if we did. I think a decent tournament and he will be off to one of Europe's top teams.
  24. Dan Petrescu invented Connect 4.
  25. The summer we signed Delap, Man Utd bought Van Nistelrooy for £19m from PSV. Liverpool recently bought Suarez from Ajax for about £23m, same league and very similar age and scoring record. Only one example I know, but I don't think transfer fees have gone up massively in the last 10 years. It's only the ridiculous end of the spectrum with clubs chucking money at Ronaldo, Kaka and er... Andy Carroll. Even so, Juve spent £30m on a goalie the same season we signed Delap.
