  1. Lallana has been here longer, Davis made his debut first. Both beat Morgan by about 2 years.
  2. I wont be renewing my SWF contract as Pompey online have offered me a 4 year deal on much more money. Ta ta everyone!
  3. I was there at Oldham when he came off the bench and scored a cracker on his debut. Scored again in the next game at home to the Dons and I thought we'd found an absolute gem. Sadly since them he's proved a bit of a warning for the 'great player if fit' argument, but some of his appearances in League 1 were top class. I think last season was a season too far, he had some decent games, but many others when he just went missing. Good luck to him in the future, I reckon he's got one more League 1 season in him yet.
  4. Owen Hardgreaves would be a great addition to the squad if fit. The Pope would be a great drinking partner if he renounces his Catholicism and forms a death metal band The wood would be really clean and tidy if bears stop sh*tting in them. Pompey will be a major force in the future if they find a billionaire owen who builds them a 60,000 seater stadium and signs Riquelme. You get the idea. In short, no. Not even pay as you play, knowing he'd only be fit for about 5 games, he's probably want £100k per appearance or something absurb like that.
  5. Wigan, QPR and the playoff winners. All depends on which managers do what really, if Norwich, Swansea, Saints or Reading lose their manager they could have serious issues. Villa might not have it too easy either if they keep McLeash and lose Bent. West Brom too, now they've lost Roy.
  6. Christ no, you've got to be joking. In what way is a striker who has scored one goal this season (against Macclesfield) a good squad player. He's never been close to prolific at any point in his career.
  7. I think we've got more chance of getting Shearer back. After the latest 'twitter feud' I'm sure he'd love an opportunity to stick his size 10s between Joey Barton's ears.
  8. Klasnic I've always thought looked good but I'm not too sure about his age and injury record these days.
  9. I still wouldn't bother.
  10. Really hope we don't sign Owen. Would probably want more money than the rest of our strikers combined, just to sit in the physio room. Having a big time Charlie come into the club and get paid more than the rest of them, whilst contributing nothing really wont be good for morale in the dressing room. "If he gets fit he will be great" - If my auntie had a kn*b she'd be my uncle. All 'ifs' and not going to happen.
  11. GBTTFFS! - Get behind the team FFS! Was more of an old school, Lowe era catch phrase on here.
  12. Carlisle - The JPT Northampton - It felt like we knocked them out of both cups for about 5 seasons running. Leicester - Sent them down in '08 Clutching at Straw with these: Port Vale - We've got the same kit as Stoke and sold them half their squad. Bradford - We beat them home and away the season they went down from the Prem Posh - Fergie doesn't get on with Chaplow. Beat them to the auto's last season.
  13. Harry Kane looks decent whenever I've seen him and caused us a fair few problems at the New Den when we went there in the League. Didn't go to the other 3 Millwall games so haven't seen that much of him. At 19 would be a great prospect, but wont be a Premier League starter just yet. Always rated Buzsaky as well. Jarvis, Buzsaky, JRod, Kane, Davies, Trippier and a goalie would be a superb tranny window.
  14. Aubergines are good, but you generally have to grown your own as the ones in the supermarket are already too big.

    Fat tax

Trust the fatties to ruin fast food for the rest of us. It wont work either, if people are willing to shorten their lives by about 20 years to keep eating burgers a 20% tax hike wont put them off. I've seen people who would walk through fire for a KFC family bucket
  16. My only memory of Nicholas Bignall was him waiting on the touchline to come on at Notts County last year and all the Saints fans (on the opposite side of the ground) enthusiastically singing, "ole, ole, ole ole! Guly! Guly". Then when the PA announced his name there was a collective, "erm.... oops"
  17. That would certainly be my take on it, he's basically comitted 3 red card offences in one game. As for the Prutton incident, they threw an extra 9 games on top of his 1 match ban for a second yellow, so there is a pretty harsh precedent here. I'll bet you anything Barton gets less than Prutton though. My guess, 8 games.
  18. Looks like it's Bolton going down at the moment, 2-1 to the Rs
  19. Christ, I hope Barton takes them down for that. Is there a bigger w*nker in football?
  20. I would hold a lot of things against Lowe, but this isn't one of them. If you're in the financial mess we were in, there is no point in hanging on to a sell on clause which might pay off in 4 or 5 years if you're going to go bankrupt after 1 year. Somehow ending up with Tommy Forecast on a f**king 5 year contract, that's the criminal part.
  21. One of these teams is for the drop. QPR started with a 2 point advantage (and better GD) but are losing to City, whilst Bolton are 2-1 up at Stoke. Who would you rather be playing next season? Both will need to improve, but I think QPR have more cash to do it, whereas Bolton will struggle to attract quality players. Bolton is a longer trip for the away fans amongst us, but I'd have thought (anyone care to correct me) tickets there will be a bit cheaper. I'd prefer Bolton to stay up TBH.
  22. He played in a preseason friendly against Reading (I think) and had a shot which landed in the family enclosure.
  23. Disagree with the nominations for Vignal, Miller and Ifil who I thought looked decent at times. Licka wasn't bad either, a bit lightweight but one of the better players under Pearson. I'll try and got for the players who actually played for us, not the ridiculous players like Pulis, St Juste and Forecast. Poke - Saw him ship 5 goals at Hull. Might have had a slight knock, but looked hopeless. James - Had the pace of a man twice his age, lightweight, tried to cross from the halfway line. Powell (Captain) - Mother of God why... Lancashire - Had none of the tallents you'd expect of a defender. O'Halloran - I think Martin O'Neal had a moan because we didn't play him enough. He was taking the p*ss surely? Ryan Smith - World Class. lol J. Wright - Even in his naturally possition he was hopeless. Euell - Played pretty much every game for 2 years, always up front or in midfield. Averaged about 3 goals a season. Sh*te. McCann - Maybe dropping down from the Prem will help him find his level... oh, ah no hang on... nope still crap. Pericard - Retired because he couldn't take the embarassment of going from Juventus to Havant and Waterlooville before his 30th birthday. Robertson/Pekhart - Pick one or the other, I can't decide. One goal each... that's about it. Actually I'll go with Robertson, he can talk to Pericard about prison. Subs: Pick any from Kenton, Sarmiento, Hammill, Forte, Flakey, McGoldrick (£1m ), Wise, Paterson, Idiakez, Thompson, Gasmi (pushing McCann for a start), Molyneux, Liptak (was it him who once ran half the length of the pitch looking like he was tackling himself?).
  24. £3.5m for Guly? I'd absolutely bite their hand off, heck I'd take £1m. He is not Premier League class.
  25. No, I think we're (or we will be after a few signings) a lot better than 17th. I'd be satisfied enough if that's where we finished, but I believe this team will be capable of a midtable finish. Finish 17th doesn't attract decent players for the following seasons and you end up like Hull or Wolves, being slowly dragged back down into the Championship with little real quality in your team. It would be a depressing season to watch too. Remember all the pain and misery of 04/05, it would basically just be all that again, but with 1 extra win.
