Can't say I'm that much a fan of Riordan either. 13 goals a year in the SPL isn't much to shout about and then there's this:
-
Well, you could do what they do in the West Country and drive around 20mph below the speed limit.

Don't get why people want to sign Bridge. He has been poor for ages and we have 3 very good LBs on the books, not to mention Shaw, who seems to be getting rave reviews. Signing him would just be adding another very large chunk the the wage bill.
-
Maybe he could get a job, like the rest of us who are too sh*t to make a career in professional football?
-
I reckon he might have stayed if he'd had a few first team opportunities, but instead bagpuss gave them to dross like Powell and Hajto.

Get the whole ground doing 'armpit farts'. Childish I know but I'd imagine the sound of 20,000 people doing it at the same time would be something to behold. Or failing that, I like the nads out suggestion too.

I'll go back to my usual routine of standing on street corners screaming at traffic. Oh, and hopefully off to a Grand Prix or 3 if I can make it.

1. He isn't clearly on any kind of contract. We've no idea what he is on, although players with Prem Experience seldom come cheap. 2. Oakley had one very serious injury which kept him out a long time. The rest of his career he has been fit as a fiddle. Connolly is different, he seems to be having recurring issues with various injuries which have limited his playing time for the best part of 5 years now. I can't see that improving. 3. Your apparent contempt for our finances is worrying. We can't afford to have passengers on the wage bill and if we kept DC we'd still need another striker aswell. If we start making significant losses, the Liebherrs are far more likely to ditch us. 4. You're happy for him to be fit for 20 minutes a couple of times a month? Why, so he can score another 4 goals like he did this season? If all 4 of the came in injury time at Fratton Park I might see your point, but that's a bit of a long shot.

It works when Lech Poznan do it, but it would be incredibly naff at most English grounds when they're half empty. If were going to 'do the Poznan' maybe we should start taking 5,000 ultras to our under 12 games. Personally I'd be happy if we could just stop singing Pompey fan on a string which seems to be sung exclusively by pwopa nawty 12 year olds who think they're 'ard. Although if I had to suggest an 80s song to bring back, I'm sure we'd all like a quick sing along to 'wake me up before you go go'.

I'm going to say 1st July. Out of contract player snapped up on a free.

I think the key will be finding a good blend. There is no saying experienced players couldn't DAJFU, just like Jaidi and Perry but the last thing we want is to end up like Cardiff did a few years ago with Hasselbaink and Fowler. I was at St Marys when we played them that season and I don't think I've ever seen 2 footballers look less interested in a game of football. If we signed Cork, Nugent and Antonio I'd probably jizz in my pants.

Used to sit in block 2 and vaguely remember Block 1 being used as segregation for some matches. Don't see why they can't do that again with very little by way of extra stewarding. Doesn't matter if there is 4ft or 4 miles of that black netting, you aren't getting across it.

Which will turn out to be massively expensive in terms of transfer fees and wages. We'd be going back to the Burley days of signing big names on big wages again and, but for an injection from the Liebherrs, going back into administration. It worked in League 1 because our attendances were massively disproportionate most of the other teams and we desperately needed to get out. Even so, we only spent £3m ish and still made a small loss. Doing that in the NpC could cost us £10m in transfers and something similar in wages.

Leeds and Udders Wigan, Blackpool and Burnley Wolves and Brum All possibilities.
-
We've also got Palace and Brighton in the same League, not to mention the South Wales Derby again, possibly. There is also the Steel City derby in League 1. We could also have Leeds vs Udders. Fun times ahead for the men in Blue.

Quinn at Sunderland in 05?

Anyone who thinks we're going to be stealing players off the Championships top teams is probably going to be disappointed. The likes of Long, Graham etc are likely to come with a £3m price tag and a hefty wage packet even if they did want to come here. Premier league rejects even more so. There may be a couple, but I'd have thought a few of the brighter prospects from the lower leagues would be more our target.
-
I don't think any of West Ham's better players will stay around for NpC football. Green, Parker, Hitz, Ba and Upton will all get offers from Prem clubs which West Ham just cannot afford to refuse. The next Pompey IMO. Would love it if Poyet went there. Would f##k things up for both clubs.

Well, I believe Arsenal have been looking at a certain League 1 winger for the last few months. PNE signed Nugent from none-League Bury and he ended up in the England team. Sure there are dozens of other examples. Being good in League 2 doesn't necessarily mean you can't cut it at a higher level.
-
Genuine answer, no idea. Been doing it at a lower level for a few seasons, so could be another Lambert or another Ormerod. Young enough, eager to prove, should fit sensibly enough into the wage bill, doesn't come with a history of injuries. If it all goes tits up, he should still have a reasonable sell on price.

Without checking back through this thread, I see Adam Le Fondre wants out of Rotherham after they missed out on promotion from league 2. Seems to know where the net is and is only 24. Could be a decent replacement for Connolly.

Hello indeed Bratislava.

A quick look at wiki and it seems Nugent and Shifty are still on the books. Odd as I thought both were out of contract and had said they weren't going to re-sign.
