  1. On the contrary, it did exactly what it was intended to do. Covered the clubs arse. Pitch invasions are against the rules, regardless of whether it's the last game of the season or not. Now if the FA give us any grief, the club can turn around and say, "we put a very specific announcement out before the final whistle not to enter the pitch".
  2. Don't take this personally, but we're in for a very tedious summer of posts like this. The reason I don't believe you is because Cortese has got things running tighter than a ducks arse. Most of the transfers surrounding the club come completely out of the blue and whenever someone says "I've been reliably informed" it's usually the least reliable information ever. Let's just hope we dont have a new thread every time a rumour surfaces about a player in some Sh*tty tabloid. Most of it is just a rehash of stuff printed in the local paper last week, which was in turn probably taken from the HCDAJFU thread on here and agents trying to big their players up.
  3. 6 games ago I thought Posh were going to be our biggest threat. We finished 13 points ahead of them. It's a great end to a brilliant season. Such a shame Markus wasn't here to see it. Great to get on the pitch at the end. Can't wait for next season now.
  4. I thought it was the year before, sometime around Christmas, when Pele and Prutton scored?
  5. Showers likely between 10am and 1pm sometime. Thunderstorms forecast between 1 and 7 this afternoon.
  6. Should be aiming for a playoff spot, but I'd be happy if we finished top half.
  7. Myself.
  8. In 2007 Derby signed 29 year old Oakley, 33 year old Darren Moore and 30 year old Howard, who formed the spine of a team which beat our £30m rated squad to the Premier League. Assuming they are fit and motivated, there is plenty of room for some older players in our squad.
  9. 17. My point is the argument for keeping him doesn't make any sense. So he's the best finisher in League 1, but he's only scored 3 goals? That's not his fault, he's only scored 3 goals because he's been injured so often, but we should give him a new contract, even though he's 34?
  10. Either the world has gone mad or I'm just not getting this. The best finisher in League 1 this season is a bloke who has 2 goals (and 1 in the FA Cup against Shrews)?
  11. Prince Harry has been reported missing. Apparently he went to a secret fancy dress party in Pakistan and hasn't been seen since.
  12. Bompey, just for sh*ts and giggles. (They're sh*t, we giggle)
  13. Thoughts on this? He was in the League 1 team of the year, last year and I reckon could certainly do a job at NpC level. Butterfield has been super consistent this season and has kept FR out for long periods, but I think Frazer is the better option longer term and much younger. His season never really got going what with his shoulder injury and being in and out of the team a lot. I reckon if we give him a decent pre-season and a start in the team next season, he will be an excellent RB. His inconsistencies will improve with matches.
  14. They're opening up blocks 1-3 and there are another couple of thousand tickets available? Would be nice.
  15. But they will come back a year later with £50m in the kitty. If I were a Canary I'd be over the moon.
  16. In a nutshell. League 1 was fun last year for a 1 off, but I really got bored of certain aspects of it this season. I don't need s**t refs, s**t pitches and s**t attendances to remind me why I love Saints.
  17. Having Connolly in the squad is like having the best Ambulance service in Europe, who only work on Tuesdays. If it was a question of tallent, I'd give him a 5 year contract, but it isn't. I wouldn't keep him.
  18. Okay, I've been making a mental list of the good things about promotion, appart from the obvious of being a League up. In no particular order. 1 - No more round 1 and 2 of the FA Cup against Shrewsbury in front of 7,000 fans at SMS. 2 - No more Paint Pot. Good to win it, but after that the novelty wears off and it's a distraction. 3 - A real South Coast Derby for a change. 4 - Attracting better players. We could bring in a couple more Lamberts and Fontes, instead of Fortes and N'Guessans. 5 - Not having the whole League think we're arrogant, just because we think we're too big for League 1. We are, end off. So are/were Leeds, Norwich, Wednesday and Forrest when they were/are in it. 6 - Not having the pressure to win the League. 7 - Not having EVERY manager we've just beaten saying "They've spent lots of money, far more than we can afford, they should be at the top of the League"
  19. 9 appearances in each of the last 2 seasons and 8 the year before that. No in other words. We should stay clear of players who just aren't fit. That includes Davies, Connolly and Holmes.
  20. Holmes has been crocked for 3 years, what makes you think he'd change now. Nugent has 13 goals this season, which is probably the same as Lambert from open play. Plus he has done it playing for a worse team at a higher level, making his job all the more difficult. Beattie may not have done much since leaving, but that doesn't mean he can't come back and DAJFU. Just look at Skacel.
  21. Cork is a great shout. Perfect Jaidi replacement if you ask me.
  22. Cheers and good luck next season. I don't like Poyet or the time wasting at SMS, but there is no denying Brighton did a job on this League. Personally I think Saints on their day are the best team in this League, but the table doesn't lie.
  23. Cheers for that. Sorry there are some complete mongtards on your forum 'givin it large' but every fan base has their fair share. 89 points and not promoted. If I wasn't delighted for Saints I'd be gutted for you. Best of luck in the playoffs, this has been one of the most exciting battles I've seen in 10 years of watching Saints. I'm not registered on DATM, but feel free to paste this on there if you see fit. P.S. We do kind of owe you one after your great run kept us out the playoffs last season.
  24. Hartlepool, Rochdale, Carlisle, Oldham, PNE, Walsall and S****horpe away on a freezing wet Tuesday night in January? Nein Danke! Would quite like a trip to West Ham if they go down. Blackpool looks like a good weekend and I didn't get chance to go 2 years ago. Reading should be good for a laugh too. Wouldn't mind a trip to Brighton's new gound too and of course THEM. Assuming they still exist of course. P.S. I am aware there are midweek games and Northerners in the NpC.
  25. I don't want to sound patronising, but it really is harsh on them. Assuming they beat the Bees that's 89 point and they still wont be promoted. They deserve to go up, no doubt, but I'd personally rather have Bompey. I know they aren't Pompey and we don't like each other, but it was kinda fun having them around this season (now that is patronising ). I think Udders will beat the Dons in the final TBH. Posh blow hot and cold and seem to have lost the plot at the most crucial time of the season. Bompey have been on a downward spiral for a while.
