  1. There is a whole world of difference between standing up for your rights and what happened at BA with their cabin crew over the last 2 years. Their cabin crew on the old contract were obscenely overpaid for what they did and still went on strike it was pure greed. I know quite a few cabin crew and none of them agreed with the BA strikes. In fact many of them have now got jobs with BA on a worse (although still very good) deal. The term 'safety trained waitress' is a bit of a slander on their job, but in essence it was true. I basically did their job when I was 16 for minimum wage in a Little Chef. I fail to see why someone should get paid £50k a year because they can do that and open an airplane door. Barney, you're a bit of a hypocrit pointing out a "me me me" philosophy, then defending the cabin crew strikes.
  2. Don't forget Connolly and Barnard. FWIW I'm pretty sure we weren't in for Dale Stephens and 'underwhelmed' wouldn't have done my emotions justice if we were. Looked pretty average in a league below.
  3. I never saw the problem with Sandstorm by Darude. Always seemed to get a bit of intensity going before the game.
  4. The difference being that Virgin Atlantic pilots aren't as absurdly overpaid as the BA cabin crew who were striking. Not saying I agree with it, but there motives are understandable.
  5. From most of the accounts I've read it seems about 10-12 years is the break even point for having panels installed. On top of that, the panels are an asset and will add around £10,000 to the value of your property. It's certainly something I will consider when I get my arse on the property ladder. One question though, does anyone know if you can get a mortgage to cover the installation costs, since they will technically become a part of the property? In my view, it's just like having an extension built.
  6. Christ you remember some weird sh*t Baj. Most random thing I can remember was the two warthogs ****ging on the back of that lorry.
  7. Yeah I seem to remember arriving at the circuit around 8am on race day. You wont really get bored waiting for the race, the support races are pretty entertaining. Spend at least one of the practice sessions sat next to Kemmel straight. The noise of an F1 car going up there full beans is something to behold. Take ear plugs too. No matter how hard you think you are (*cough* Mike) you will have a headache in 5 minutes without them. The inside of Bruxelles hairpin is probably the best place to see the cars. You are within about 20 feet of the cars going past, on a small hill so you are above the fence line with an unobstructed view. This is the best place for taking photos by far. For qualy and race day, I'd reccomend the bank on the run down to Pouhon. There is quite a lot of space, so you will get several thousand people sat there. There is a big screen opposite too, so you can keep up to date with all the possitions and action from elsewhere. Francorchamps is probably the best place to park and there are quite a few stalls and places selling beer on the way down to the circuit. Wish I could go again this year, but work stops play. Enjoy it, you will have an absolute blast. Take ear plugs, waterproofs, sun cream, a camera and plenty of water.
  8. Yes. Been last 3 years, what do you want to know?
  9. A fee years ago the LSE announced we'd made the biggest signing in the history of football. £136m to build an oil rig off the coast of China. NOTHING will ever top that, and it wasn't even a rumour, it was 'officially announced' the OS even had to run a story denying it. Was the summer the Dutch duo joined i think.
  10. Nobody is dismissing it because it's negative. We're dismissing it because it's clearly bullsh*t. Agents only care about how much cash they can get for themselves and their players. To that extent, they'd get into bed with Satan himself if the cash was right. Cortese history of signing about 20 players of 2 seasons shows that clearly people don't have a problem signing for us when the deal is right.
  11. No, we clearly don't have a problem offering players what they are worth as we have signed many decent players under Cortese. The likes of Lambert, Fonte, Connolly and Jaidi would all have had sizeable demands, which clearly we met. You don't get the point though. We will offer a player what we think they are worth. No doubt the clubs start lower and the players demand higher and there is some negotiation, but ultimately we will get to an offer which we think is fair. If we fail to come to an agreement, then clearly the club and the agent have a different idea of what a player is worth (and that includes wages, contract length, agents fees, signing on fees etc.) We aren't missing out on players because we've offered them a tin of magic beans.
  12. Love it. The black woman who is just a smile and a vest was pretty good, and I nearly p*ssed myself at the woman strangling a dog.
  13. You seem to be forgetting that it's ultimately up to the chairman to decide if he is willing to spend £xxx on a player. If a deal has broken down because we didn't offer a player/agent enough money, then clearly Cortese/Adkins didn't feel the player was worth what the agent was demanding. We've proven that we aren't adverse to slipping a fair few quid the way of Lambert, Fonte etc (and no doubt a bit for their respective agents too). If an N'Guessan or a Bignall turns up demanding a Lambert contract, we tell them to feck off. Doesn't really mean we're missing out though.
  14. Not sure, but apparently if you play that song backwards, she says "sleep with me I'm not too young". Unfortunately I sold all my Britney LPs to pay for crystal meth, so I can't verify it's authenticity.
  15. Bit different to what you said originally. It's kind of like going on the main board and saying "I hope what c**t Jaidi is the next to die." then justifying it by saying, 'well he's the oldest and therefore the nearest to the end of his natural life span so it's only fair really.' its still feckin unpleasant. Over and out.
  16. They're doing a slow version of 'Hit me baby one more time' next. Rock on.
  17. So you hope Knoxville dies next, but you don't actually wish death upon him? Okay then. As for the kids, well there are Christ knows how many warnings at the beginning, end and during adverts telling people very clearly not to copy them. etc. If people still choose to copy them, they're retarded. I mean seriously, impressionable is smoking cigarettes, listening to music etc. because your friends tell you to. If you watch an episode of Jackass and decide to throw yourself off a building, you're a plank. No matter what age you are.
  18. Hang on a minute. It's one thing to say it was Dunn's own fault for drink driving, but quite another to wish death on innocent people like Knoxville. For a start Jackass is something of a niche market. Unlike most of the reality TV garbage these days, you can quite easily avoid Jackass by just not watching certain TV channels at 1am. Jackass is crude and silly, but it has never pretended to be anything otherwise and is decent for a cheap giggle every now and then. If it's not your cup of tea you can quite easily just not watch it.
  19. We don't have a poor record on sky. People just seem to remember half a dosen crap performances over several years and act like these are the only results. As for not winning the first game, yes it's been a while but there are reasons for that. 2010 - Plymouth. Poor pre season prep and key injuries to Lallana and Lambert. 2009 - Millwall. Tough team on their way to promotion. We barely had a team to put out. 2008 - Cardiff. Tough away game, we were playing the kids. 2007 - Palace. Truly awful pre-season planning from Burley. Barely had 2 defenders to rub together. 2006 - Derby. Tough away game to a team on their way to promotion. Only conceded the equaliser in inury time. 2005 - Wolves. Redknapp really didn't build a decent team that summer and Wolves were a decent side. 2004 - Villa. Tough away game and Sturrock wasn't up to the job and didn't have the team's support. 2003 - Leicester. Away to a newly promoted side on a high. 2002 - Boro. They were a tough nut to crack all season IIRC. Can't remember back beyond then, but basically there's a reason for it. We might not beat Leeds, but then we might not have beaten them if we'd played them in March.
  20. This! Is wrong.
  21. You can't really feel sorry for anyone getting into a car with a drunk driver. In doing so, you're agreeing with what they're doing which is just as bad. I think "Two men achieve Darwin Award Nomination" would be as good a title as any.
  22. Saw him play alongside Killer against Swansea reserves in '09. Looked pretty average in that game. Probably on par with players like Jamie Hatch and Pulis. We're not missing anything. As others have said, reasonable in the air but with dodgy distribution.
  23. As long as you stab me with a knife and not something softer (and a lot smaller) that's fine.
  24. Yes, but in summer I sleep naked on top of my covers. Oh, and I scream in my sleep. Hope this doesn't bother you.
  25. What do we need Police for? We're 'ard innit, pork pork!
