  1. There are no '6 pointers' left, so every game is equally important. It's irrelevant when you get the points, it's the total at the end of the season that counts. In that respect the Dons game is no more or less important than the others.
  2. I'm thinking players we could have realistically kept here, not people like Bale, Theo, Surman etc. GK - Richard Wright - Looked far more composed in his cameo than I've ever seen Kelvin look. RB - Wayne Thomas - Would have had to take a pay cut, but I doubt Donny are paying him billions. LB - Gregory Vignal - Again maybe would have needed a pay cut at a time we were broke, so a tad ambitious there. CB - Jan Paul Saeijs - I know Jaidi has been excellent this year, but Saeijs was a monster, with very little help from his team mates. CB - Matt Mills - I know he wanted to go, but if only Redknapp had recognised his tallent instead of signing Powell and Haijto, he probably would have stayed. RM - Michail Antonio - 10 times better than anything I've seen from Forte or Guess. CM - Mario Licka - Would have been a decent, relatively cheap option under Poortaloo/WTF CM - Matt Oakley - Yes, this one's been done to death, but he was far more deserving of the 2 year deal we gave Wright. LM - Rudi Skacel - As with Mills, he wanted to leave, but if he hadn't been messed around playing LB I reckon he'd have stayed and tore L1 a new one. ST - Papa Waigo - Apparently wages/transfer fee was the stumbling block. ST - Marian Pahars - I know he was crocked, but would have been a great option off the bench on a pay as you play.
  3. Half of it isn't even entertainment, it's just silly. I still watch it because occasionally they produce a genuinely entertain and/or informing article.
  4. For me that was the second best season I've seen after last season. At the moment it's kind of on par with this season in terms of quality that I've seen. This season the results have been better, but against crapper opposition with a lot of 'grinders' against tough teams. That Brum game was a highligh, but I think I aged about 25 years in injury time. DJ Campbell's looping header at the end... 'heart in mouth' doesn't come close to describing it. Those 3 goals in 6 minutes were just mental. Remember being in block 2, seeing Skacel hit that shot and thinking, "he's made a f**king mess of that" only to see it spoon up over Maik Taylor and into the corner of the net. The 6-0 at Wolves was a cracker too. Wasn't there, but remember watching the SSN live feed keep getting better and better.
  5. It's a perfectly reasonable statement really. I'm sure everyone appreciates Killers contribution, but that was 7 years ago. 35 year olds who've spent 7 years in teh physio room don't suddenly start playing 30 games of competitive football every season. Killer is the past. Move on.
  6. I thought the Tesla tests were some of the more interesting articles on the show. One of the few things they've done recently which was genuinely interesting and informative. Even when they're onto a good idea, like in the last series when they tried using farm vehicles for snow clearance, they ruin it with slapstick idiocy.
  7. In the good old days, these threads would have been locked and the OP would have been taken out, shot and possibly sodomised.
  8. Depends entirely on how quickly you think you can get a job. Without knowing you and what qualifications you have, background etc. it's impossible for anyone on here to really give an accurate answer.
  9. Sofa King - Our prices are sofa king low An Islamic butchers called Halal, is it meat you're looking for
  10. There is a record store in London called The Vinyl Solution. In Bolton (apparently) there is a hairdresser called Valerie with a salon called Val does 'air
  11. No, he really didn't. I've seen players looked rusty, but in that home game against Barnsley he looked 5 yards off the pace. I admire the guy's spirit, but how many comebacks has he attempted now? He's 35. Hardly as if he's got a promising career ahead of him. If he isn't careful, he could serious f**k his knee up and be unable to walk properly for years.
  12. Most Cat Stevens fans probably haven't.
  13. Greedy wotsits.
  14. Just watched the race on iplayer. Pretty interesting overall, although I did think there were going to be more issues with tyre wear in the final stages, like there were in 2009. Great to see Hamilton on the podium and I can't help but feel Button would have been there two were it not for that penalty. It's harsh but fair, although that race pretty much underlined my contempt for Massa. He was nowhere compared to his team mate all weekend (again). Then the incident with Button. Instead of trying to get back ahead of him, his instinctive reaction is to let his teammate through so that Button get penalised. On a more possitive note. Great drives from Petrov and Perez. Real shame about the Saubers getting DQ'd there.
  15. I'd be more tempted to see what Bart can do given a proper run in the team before we go splashing £1m on another 'keeper. I think it all depends who stays and who leaves, but at least 1 defender, striker and 2 midfielders would be a good start.
  16. What, that 10 day purple patch in January?
  17. Top 5 Fonte Lallana Barnard (Can't believe nobody has mentioned him yet. We are so much more of a threat when he plays) Chamberlain Harding
  18. I tried doing the predictor, but it just doesn't work I'm too pessimistic. I started off with the best of intentions and got as far as The Dons game before coming over all paranoid. That's a draw, Orient away is a draw, so is Plymouth, we'll lose at Brighton. Meanwhile Udders and Posh will win all their remaining fixtures, even when they play each other. In reality I think we're definitely in the driving seat. The next two games against playoff contenders are critical. If we can win them, it will so much easier, what with Posh, Bompey and Udders all playing each other in a couple of games.
  19. They're only 5 points clear of Orient, who have a game in hand. They can't afford to drop too many points to anyone or they could find themselves out of the playoff spots completely.
  20. Posh 4 points ahead with a better GD. I'd quite like a Bompey victory in that one too.
  21. Bompey drop more points at home. That's all I'd have asked for today if I'm honnest. Now I'm a Notts County fan for the next 26 hours.
  22. Qualifying: 1. Vettel 2. Hammy 3. Webber 4. Button 5. Alonso
  23. Our record this season is far better when Barnard is in the side. We've only lost once, at Walsall, when he has started under Adkins. He's more likely to find the net than Lambert at the moment too. Aside from that purple patch, I really haven't been convinced by Guly.
  24. Les Gets is pretty good IMO. A wide variety of runs and there are a couple of other resorts within a short bus ride. If you are complete beginners, I'd recommend Norway or Sweden where the snow is generally better and the slopes smaller and more gentle. Bulgaria is good for beginners too and is much cheaper than Scandinavia, but I've never been so I can't really comment on it. So in my life I've been to Geilo, Sol, Levi, Zel am Zee, Zermatt, Killington, Banff, Big White, Vail, Beaver Creek, Les Gets, Val D'Isere, Tignes, Cormayeur and Les Deux Alpes. If you want more info on any of them in particular, just ask. Only place I would NOT recommend is Zermatt. Lifts were an absolute pain in the tits.
