Stick an ostrich egg in there for about 20 minutes, should sort your problems out.

Sordell. Pace is an asset at any level and our strikers lack it.

Never wrestle a pig. You both get dirty, but the pig will enjoy it an awful lot more.

They joy of having Cork in your side is he a very capable defender as well as being a brilliant midfielder. Should one of our defenders get injured, I'd just bring on De Ridder, stick him on the right and have Cork fill in whichever defensive possition sustained the injury. It's not a permanent solution and is a little bit George Burley, but it would surfice against anyone in this league.

Skacel was a pretty good player for us and worked very well with Bale down the left. Most of our attacking play came from those two in the CCC playoff season. He never lived up to the 'signing on the pitch' fiasco but that was nigh on impossible. Taking him on merit, he was a decent player. It's not really fair to have a go at Saganowski either. Burley signed him, them played him for about 20 minutes every other game. I remember Burley sending him on for the last 45 seconds of injury time once to try and win a game. Besides, pretty much the whole squad was under performing that season anyway. The fact that Saga made the Polish Euro squad at the end of it would indicate he was actually a half decent player. As to the original question, I remember when Morgan signed people were saying we'd beaten off competition from Arsenal etc. then when he actually played looked like a fish up a tree for his first season. Worked out in the end though, so I guess that doesn't really count. Leandre Griffit was hailed as the next big thing, but turned out to be a bit crap. Not really a high profile signing though. Phillips was half decent, don't get that nomination either. Overall, my vote goes to Delgado I think.

Gelling was just Burley's excuse for being a sh*t manager who wasted a lot of money. Building a new team pretty much from scratch like Leicester did and we did in we did under Pardew takes time, however we'd pretty much got things sorted after less than 2 months. Signing Falque, Lee and one other isn't going to rock the boat, especially seeing as they wont be starting games immediately.

Davis Richardson - Jos - Martin - Fox Cork - Morgan - Hammond - Lallana Guly - Connolly Subs: Bart, De Ridder, Chaplow, Lee, Falque Hard finding space for everyone really. 5 subs rule is getting on my tits.

Olly Murs JLS Jedward Can't be arsed to try and remember any more, but you get the idea. I can respect any artist who made it on their own, regardless of my own personal taste, but not this reality TV sh*te. They are all the same bland, tallentless wannabes who apparently should be famous just because they can sing karaoke fairly well on ITV. and Peter Andre

Biggest threat to promotion besides West Ham?
Lighthouse replied to BrokenGusBus's topic in The Saints
I'll say Reading. Cardiff are the perennial bottle jobs. Middlesboro I just don't really think are that good. Brum have financial difficulties, but should be there or there abouts. Hull... hmmm can't see it Leeds have been inconsistent I'm not getting complacent here, they will all give us a run for our money, but I think Reading and Wham will be the biggest threats, then Brum. -
Yeah, it was getting a bit scraped down the bottom of the slopes leading into Mottaret, although that was probably down to the large number of skiers. Off to Val D'Isere in a couple of weeks, can't wait.

Just got back from Meribel. Couldn't have asked for better conditions last week. A massive dump of snow the week before, then clear skies and calm winds the whole time we were out there. Could do with a bit of a fresh dusting now I expect.
-
Might be able to. Not sure yet, but they're my dates off.
-
Fixed. Anyway Saturday 26th would be my first day off. You know the rest mate, I'll leave it up to you.

I wonder how Skacel scores so many goals playing at left back... oh.
-
Assuming a fully fit midfield includes Lallana, Chaplow, Cork and Hammond, that leaves De Ridder, Holmes, Morgan, Tandoori, Barnard and Connolly fighting for 3 spaces on the bench. That's assuming we don't sign any other players, which I expect we will. The only reason Holmes has gotten close to the first team recently is because many of our first choice attacking players have been unavailable.

Was driving down the road a few years ago when a cat ran straight out in front of my car. No time to brake, nothing I could do about it. I heard the cat go under my front left wheel, so I pulled over and got out. Lying on the grass a couple of feet from the road was this poor cat, not moving but still breathing. I couldn't just leave it there and decided the kindest thing was to put it out of its mysery. Grabbed it by the head and twisted it sharply, death was instant and pretty much painless. Anyway, then I turned back to my car and there lodged in the front left wheel arch was a dead cat. Turns out I'd just killed some random cat asleep on the grass. Not sure what my point is but when it comes to putting your cat to sleep, make sure you get the right one.

Guly's career as a street mime got off to a disappointing start.

Didn't see the game today, but one thing I've noticed about Connolly is that he hardly ever scores unless we are awesome. I was there when he scored on his debut, a 3-1 win at Oldham when we battered them. He scored the next game, 3-1 again against Dons. Again we were awesome. This season 4 of his 6 goals came in August when we were playing awesome. Then he finished off our goal of the decade against Boro a couple of months ago... When we were awesome. Then there's his performance today. I'm not going to knock him, he can certainly do a job, but when the going gets tough and we aren't firing on all cylinders, he can often go missing. He's not like Lambert or Guly who can pop up with a goal out of nowhere when we're in the Sh*t.
-
Don't you win most games if you hold on whilst your winning. I thought that was kind of the idea.
-
Marvin is one of those players who I've never see play, but I'd love it if we signed him. Young, bags of pace and seems to score for Watford every time I watch Soccer Saturday. Different to any of the strikers we've got. Lee, Jos and Sordell in would be a great transfer window.

Ooooh Tadanari He's a striker From Japan He played in Hiroshima with his 15 fingered mates And now he's joined Southampton cos he f**king hates the skates ooooooooh Tadanari

You should write songs for JLS.

Am I the only one who would die of embarrassment if I heard the lines about "even eats their knees" and "puts them with some peas". To me it just comes across as a naff attempt to find words that rhyme with 'Japanese'. I like the idea and the tune, but surely we can find some better lyrics than that. Most of our fans struggle to sing OWTS coherently, I doubt they will manage some of the suggestions on here. How about: Oooooh Tadanari He's a striker From Japan He scored against the Ozzies with a volley from a cross And now he's joined Southampton, to show you who's the boss Ooooooh Tadanari...
-
I like "Lee will rock you" a lot. Couple of other suggestions: He's half Japanese he's half Japaneeeeeeese He's half Korean He's half Japanese Or Lee, Lee wherever you may be You hunt whale in your own country But it could be worse You could be Skate F**king your mum on a Pompey Estate
