Okay, I've been making a mental list of the good things about promotion, appart from the obvious of being a League up. In no particular order. 1 - No more round 1 and 2 of the FA Cup against Shrewsbury in front of 7,000 fans at SMS. 2 - No more Paint Pot. Good to win it, but after that the novelty wears off and it's a distraction. 3 - A real South Coast Derby for a change. 4 - Attracting better players. We could bring in a couple more Lamberts and Fontes, instead of Fortes and N'Guessans. 5 - Not having the whole League think we're arrogant, just because we think we're too big for League 1. We are, end off. So are/were Leeds, Norwich, Wednesday and Forrest when they were/are in it. 6 - Not having the pressure to win the League. 7 - Not having EVERY manager we've just beaten saying "They've spent lots of money, far more than we can afford, they should be at the top of the League"

9 appearances in each of the last 2 seasons and 8 the year before that. No in other words. We should stay clear of players who just aren't fit. That includes Davies, Connolly and Holmes.

Holmes has been crocked for 3 years, what makes you think he'd change now. Nugent has 13 goals this season, which is probably the same as Lambert from open play. Plus he has done it playing for a worse team at a higher level, making his job all the more difficult. Beattie may not have done much since leaving, but that doesn't mean he can't come back and DAJFU. Just look at Skacel.

Cork is a great shout. Perfect Jaidi replacement if you ask me.

I don't want to sound patronising, but it really is harsh on them. Assuming they beat the Bees that's 89 point and they still wont be promoted. They deserve to go up, no doubt, but I'd personally rather have Bompey. I know they aren't Pompey and we don't like each other, but it was kinda fun having them around this season (now that is patronising ). I think Udders will beat the Dons in the final TBH. Posh blow hot and cold and seem to have lost the plot at the most crucial time of the season. Bompey have been on a downward spiral for a while.

Mills looked very able in all the games I saw him play at LB last season, including the JPT final. He's now had a year of first team football under his belt and at a higher level than Harding. I'm not saying he's better, but I wouldn't write him off. Assuming we were to release Holmes, I think there could be room for him, DH and RD.

They drew against Swindon fighting for their lives, our draw against Notts Co was back in January when every team still had everything to play for. The bees have injuries and nothing to play for. There wont be an easier gig in the football league than Brentford at home on Saturday.

I think you can take it as an absolute nailed on certainty that Udders will beat Brentford. It's about as safe a bet as you will ever see. Ergo, a draw for Saints is no use. Just watching FLS. Blades, Scunny and PNE... now there's 3 away days I REALLY don't want next season.
