  1. Think if we let Adam leave, others will demand out. We need to stay firm and reject all bids like Liverpool did with Suarez.
  2. I'll be interested to see the transfer policy. I think there are some good domestic options available and think we've swung too much away from it since Jrod purchase but too much of a swing the other way would be equally bad. As for rest I'm less bothered in stripes than most and whilst I like that he comes across well the proof will come in whether he can retain the manager and retain the key personnel rather than rolling over and letting the big boys scratch our stomachs.
  3. Just read that Alex McCarthy is one of a number of reading players who have only a year left on their contracts. Hoping saints nip in and buy him before they get their ownership issues sorted.
  4. Joint tie between Shaw and Lallana for me. Losing Shaw so young would hurt. Losing the captain Lallana would be a gut wrenching. I really want us to keep both and have a go at a higher finish & to do so we need both. I like Morgan a lot but cause there's actually already competition in his position his loss would be more bearable if painful.
  5. Announced after the football league regular season has finished so there can't be protests. Convenient timing.
  6. FA trying to destroy english league football rather than take on the premier league, shock horror. Soon we'll have chelsea and man u B playing in the championship like in Spain no doubt.
  7. He's been a very good servant and i wish him the best. Think he'd be a decent option for any championship team on a free unless he's looking to head back to Brazil.
  8. Have to say I struggle to understand why Lampard is going. Is he simply being picked because he's viewed to be a good influence/tourist within the squad.
  9. Yes he is up to it. He's a young lad in the prem who's only had a handful of games & is playing often cos osvaldo is an idiot and Jrod is injured. Hope next season he get a few chances to play out wide in a Jrod type role and hopefully we'll have a non nutter attacking challenging Rickie for the up top role.
  10. I'd like to give Stephens a chance to come through at centre back. Focus on a keeper for competition(McCarthy) Attacking mid/winger (holtby?) 20 goal striker (?)
  11. I'd like us to bring in McCarthy from reading to compete with Boruc. He has been an excellent signing though.
  12. Strong lineup for me, chance to finish within touching distance of Man U. Lambert in for Davis for me, just because i'd like to give both Cork and Morgan one last chance to impress international managers.
  13. That second half sounded terrible but i don't care a jot as we got the vital winning goal. Another solid clean sheet too & didn't seem to be any injuries either. Hopefully we can finish on a high by beating Utd & then strengthen over the summer.
  14. I was thinking before he went on his scoring run that he would be worth a cheeky bid as a cheaper option. Clearly always had talent, just moved too soon and hasn't played enough. His price has probably gone back up now he's got some goals and it also looks likely that Sunderland will stay up so less likely now.
  15. GK: Hart, Foster, Forster RB: Johnson, Walker(Clyne) LB: Baines, Shaw Cb: Cahill, Jagielka, Jones, Caulker MID: Milner, Gerrard, Cork, Henderson, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Sterling, Barkley, Lallana Att: Rooney, Sturridge, Wellbeck, Lambert Sadly no doubt, Cole, Wilshere and Lampard will get in on their name alone even though they've done nothing this season.
  16. Got to laugh at the rubbish these papers publish, usually based on zero real info. According to Guardian Lallana is off to Liverpool for 20M. I'm certainly hoping he will stay but if he does go i'm certain if will be nowhere near that laughably low figure.
  17. In McCarthy (gk)4m In holtby 5m In Remy 10m In Moses 3m Out Ramirez, osvaldo, guly, Hooiveld, fox, gazzaniga, sharp etc
  18. Reed's debacle as Charlton manager reminds me of Wigley's debacle as Saints manager. Someone placed in a role which didn't suit them but when placed in a role which suits them they shine.
  19. Taking lallana's one sentence is unfair. The full statement basically sounds like an invitation to the board to do the things to keep him.
  20. Personally I think Morgan/cork works best for some games and wanyama/cork or Morgan works for others. Sometimes you want fluency sometimes brute force. Really happy with our centre mid options and really hope we keep all three.
  21. Another game that highlights to me why jack cork should be playing centre mid alongside Gerard for England. Sadly he won't get picked which is probably good for saints long-term. Good decision to start Gallagher and once Rickie showed why comparing him and Carroll is like comparing apples and oranges. We got a bit of fortune with 2 big decisions second half but after everton's fortune at theirs it was evened up IMO. Think potchettino could have done with making the first tactical change sooner.
  22. Shame Morgan is out but hopefully if Cork and Wanyama are fully fit the centre mid spots pick themselves. I'd like to see one of the likes of Mcqueen/Rowe given a run at some point during the game. Don't see the value in playing Guly if we are planning on releasing him.
  23. That put me in an extremely bad mood. Can't believe we lost to that garbage side.
  24. Gutted for him. Really hope he can make a full and speedy recovery.
  25. Can't see us having a hope of getting Begovic and he'd cost an absolute fortune. Forster would be nice but he will cost a lot as he's already an england international. Are the board going to sanction another Wanyama fee? Hence why i'd go for Mccarthy if Reading don't get promoted, has played well in prem, located reasonably close, is a nice age 24ish(probably looking to step back up) but might cost a few million less.
