  1. Definitely think it suits Liverpool's commercial agenda to have more Liverpool England players on show as well as avoiding risk that those players have stunning tournaments and their value and interest increases. Don't want Lallana to leave at all but as Saints Captain he simply has to go to the world Cup as a Saints player at bare minimum. This board apparently want to increase global profile and world cup is biggest global showcase and Lallana is an england starter. Equally imagine Baines pulls a hamstring and Shaw showcases his world class talent on a global stage as a saints player. He'd be suddenly worth far more than Man U are apparently offering too. Only desperate idiots would agree any deal at this point in time.
  2. Gutted for us Happy for him Hope he does well for them except when he plays us of course I won't have similar feelings for the others though if they try and force their way out and destroy what saints have built.
  3. Yeah, with all speculation around the england 3 the rumours of tapping up and notion among other clubs fans that it is better not to have international floated back into my head.
  4. Future vice captain, goalkeeping coach and club captain there
  5. Fair to say i ain't happy with the direction of travel. I wouldn't go as far to say that i've 100% made up my mind yet despite my fears/worries. The manager and Lallana/Shaw stuff are very much tipping points which i'm waiting nervously for any sign of positive outcomes. I want to see actions that back up claims of ambition for european football No top half team has ever sold multiple star players in the past and therefore we shouldn't be doing so.
  6. Adam Blackmore "As things stand Liverpool's efforts to sign Adam Lallana before World Cup diminishing with #saintsfc board standing firm, as I write #LFC" Minor moment of relief in a sea of despair. Might mean there's a modicum of sanity and concern for their image. Still dubious that they aren't going going round St Mary's with a price gun.
  7. Well the new manager should have been identified weeks ago since it was apparently clear to Krueger and co apart from legalities that potch was off.
  8. If they are in the process of selling the entire first 11 i doubt a managerial appointment will be good news.
  9. I'd be amazed if someone doesn't buy the film rights to his life. A goal at the world cup and a title win would make it the epic fairytale.
  10. Unless the manager Les Reed appoints is Les Reed himself.
  11. After all 10 of the first team regulars we can get a chunk of cash for have gone. That's if you consider the news that Hooiveld has been named club captain to be good news.
  12. Maya, Lovren, Gaston and Shaw next By day first world cup game kicks off we won't have a single participant. That would be a spectacular achievement by our fail board.
  13. Doubt Cortese would want the club stripped of all the assets he built up.
  14. If true final confirmation that asset stripping is taking place and that they aren't even bothered about getting value as long as they can get money quickly. Wonder why Krueger even bothered giving talks earlier in the week. Waste of time if their actions are to sell any and everybody as quickly as possible.
  15. Really worrying if true. Accepting subpar bids from liverpool for our captain would be bad. Letting them making off with Lovren too would be worse. No doubt the rest of the good players in the1st team squad would follow if that is the case. Only thing i can see coming out in the wash is our premiership status. Find it odd that they are merrily getting youngsters signed to contracts whilst ignoring senior squad. Wonder if they just see see the senior squad as cash cows to be milked for every penny they can and replaced with the academy players and a few cheap purchases.
  16. Wouldn't be the worst buy in the world dependent on the rest of the money going on new attacking options.
  17. Probably going to milk us dry and then once the next crop of youngsters come through they'll milk us some more. Hope I'm wrong and they put their foot down, stopping players mapping their exit strategies and re-invest.
  18. They are buying him because we are willing to sell him dirt cheap. Added benefit for them is it gives them an added lever in ensuring they steal the rest of our players they want for equally cheeky amounts.
  19. Disagree saints have to act in saints interests not lallana's. If we let him and all the other targeted first team players we will be in free fall next season. Other clubs reject bids because they have ambition so should we.
  20. Very disappointing if Lallana is trying to force the club to sell immediately. Hoping impression that we are going to reject liverpool's undervalued bullying bid is true. Saints captain has to go to World Cup as a saints player. Ideally we keep him. Worst case scenario we get our valuation.
  21. Worry it is worse. They might be asset stripping in the hopes that there are more academy players to asset strip for big money in a season or 2's time. Hope that worry is completely unfounded and club retains star players.
  22. Starting to despise Liverpool.
  23. Not that would want to come to saints in the midst of a fire sale.
  24. Cortèse' saints I could see convincing wellbeck of our ambition to push on, making a name for himself as an out an out striker. This new version, no chance in a million years is wellbeck going to consider coming here. The ambition is muted and the only words on people's lips are how much and when rather than stay away.
  25. No you are wrong, you don't improve by selling your best players and then only having the option of attracting substandard ones as their replacements.
