Well he signed on to a set up where others had control of transfer policy not him. If he wanted to grab complete control as some articles suggest then I have no sympathy. If board broke promises that might be a different issue.
Wow, didn't see pulis leaving. Guess he wanted to take apart structure they had established to give himself more control and they baulked at it.
Hopefully that puts to bed any notion of cork leaving for there.
Hmmm, well I suppose someone was going to be given that shirt. I'd hoped when Lambert left there would be someone special coming in to take it but whatever. Let's hope it inspires him.
Weaker IMO. Obviously there's an element of unknown in how new signings will perform but I'd plump for considerably weaker as my current estimate. That's before you even factor in Jrod absence and worry about further departures.
Big shoes to fill at centre back as Lovren replacement. Don't know much about him but hope to quote him alongside Killer as stellar Saints Centre back in future years.
Not convinced about the new approach. Time will tell how bad or good signings turn out to be but have very high standard to live up to compared to previous 2 seasons imo.
That's how i see it too, the Morgan situation just makes it a multitude of times worse.
Wanyama is a great defensive shield in certain games but would hate to go into season without as accomplished a performer as Cork.
I'd take 2-0 if our performance is good. If its as i fear we'll look like a a hastily arranged mediocre mess losing comfortablly 2-0 to a misfiring Liverpool side then no.
Good to see club legend shares high opinion of Cork. Just wish Saints board pull their heads out of whatever hole they've stuck them in before we lose another very good player and this time for a pittance.
Find it comical that Taider, a makeweight loan signing who hasn't even played a competitive game for us is going described as an upgrade on one of better and consistent performers. Haven't seen anything in his brief cameo so far to even suggest such. No doubt Bertrand is an improvement on shaw too.
