So what, if Liverpool don't meet our valuation we reject that request. He's a professional under contract not an amateur footballer.
-
He's under contract so yes we can stop him. Especially since Liverpool have shown every sign of trying to pinch our players dirt cheap if the quoted bids for others have any substance to them.
-
There's no official confirmation there's been a bid. There's some dodgy Facebook material We've only scumbag journos who are peddling the story that this bid has been rejected Then as a club we are perfectly within our rights to block the move if any offer isn't massively over our valuation.
-
Bbc really has become the scum of the earth with no journalism standards. So we're selling 3 World Cup players to them for a packet of peanuts, how nice for them.
-
If the club are directly telling Blackmore this, why don't they just stick a message on the official twitter account. Still bs IMO. If true, reject as probably back door means to try and prise ads away.
-
Or standard British press hack opportunism of a cheap twitter hoax to sell papers and get eyes glued to TV screens.
-
Really you expect the media to report the truth it's much more for for them to make up a lie that has just the right ring of believability in it to get people hooked. Find it funny that they act so unscrupulously and yet are in such a state over the notion of a duchess' butt cheek.
-
They are testing the water to see what lie is more believable. Filthy bunch of jackals the lot of them, trying to fill time in the columns till the World Cup with nonsense.
-
Clearly not true IMO. If it was 4m would be a terrible deal. We lose a key 1st xi player for tiny fee for which we'd never be able to buy a player of similar calibre. Add ons for a 32 yr old are a meaningless joke.
-
Utter fools errand to deny bids when the press has decided we're their pet chew toy to make up stuff about.
-
Maybe it's one of those auctions where the lowest unique bid wins. Still waiting for it to drop to a fiver and a packet of pork scratchings.
-
What would be add ons for a 32 yr old, a packet of crisps? Still sounds utter media bs, especially the fee is so laughably small now it wouldn't even make sense from a financial standpoint.
-
Don't worry Jrod would fail the medical even if it wasn't completely made up bs.
-
I'm thinking someone at sky bet is rubbing their hands with glee at all the free money people have thrown at them over what was essentially a novelty bet.
-
No and hence why I consider it highly unlikely we'll be having such a clear out.
-
Media news cycles. There has just been a brief where suddenly they suggested the players might not be leaving. Now they are back into full tilt speculation mode again. Give it a month and apparently they'll all be staying again. I may not trust the new board completely but they certainly won't be doing deals at the moment.
-
Have we renamed ourselves Liverpool b. why would we sell lallana and reed for dirt cheap fees to them. Sorry but can't believe the board are considering a fire sale.
-
Consider me still highly sceptical. Liverpool apparently willing to blow 9m on Rickie. Complete bs. The more likely scenario is that someone bet big on this sky bet new book, sky bet adjusted their odds. People saw odds come in and jumped on it thinking it was a sign. Sky bet removed the market because it was completely one sided. The old one snowball causes an avalanche theory.
-
Laughable rumour. Rodgers isn't going to spend millions on a 32 yr old. Can't see Rickie being happy playing only in the league cup either.
-
Under Adkins we tried to pass the ball. It evolved to a new level under potchettino. Think we should get someone with the same or reasonably similar ethos and preferred set up. really don't think we should be trying to switch to direct ball merchants.
-
Don't think moyes should be on the short list. We shouldn't be throwing the style of football we've adopted out the window to accommodate a manager. We should be looking to short list managers who fit that approach. Don't think he's a good fit with our approach of giving academy players opportunities either.
-
Disagree completely. Being a gateway only works if we're able to retain the players we've blooded for a significant amount of time to help us compete towards the top end and groom future replacements. If you look at say Everton who we must be aspiring to catch they don't seem to about to sell Barkley. I'm sure if they announced he was available the top 4 would buy him. If he carries on his trajectory for them they'll most likely end up losing him to one of world's biggest clubs but not now.
-
Yeah the main issue in selling your best players is then you become a less attractive destination for players of equal stature. So if shed multiple top players even for astronomical sums we then face a major uphill task to convince future Lovren's/Wanyama's that you need to ensure you attain and better the same level. We'd also face inflated fees due to people being aware we had all that money so as you say the money wouldn't go as far. Of course there's the odd bargain to be had but that's much rarer at the very top end.
-
Coming 2 places lower than they did under Poyet the season before with less points is definitely not overachievement.

Potchettino wants Champions League football and thinks Spurs are better able to deliver that since that is their aim. Saints are aiming after Europa league which Potchettino doesn't like. I'm guessing Spurs will be playing very weak teams managed by Perez in Europa league if he gets his way.
