  1. Result ! Did exactly what was needed to be done and, for almost all of the 2nd half, took full advantage of Bony's sending off. Tadic, in particular, was superb, as was Big Vic when he came on - 30 yard passes with the outside of his boot (WTF !). Delighted doesn't come close..
  2. Result.. Yes, he did - I don't really want to post it here. Do you have an email address I can send it to ?
  3. I know - I did try to write in such a way that didn't sound too gay or stalky. Failed miserably...
  4. Bit of an odd one this, and probably a complete long-shot, but is there anyone here who knows (or knows of) a 'Saints Billy' (whose real name might be Paul !) who became mates with a Swansea City fan a couple of years back ? Apparently, the last time the guy came down to SMS for a game, Saints Billy took him for a few beers down the Red Lion. The request is from a taff named Mark who I was chatting with in Swansea over the weekend. Apparently, he lost his mobile (and all of his contacts) a while back and is keen to get back in touch. When he found out I was a season ticket holder at SMS, well, you get the picture. If it helps to place him, he's 6', snooker ball bald and about as Welsh as they come.
  5. I've owned an R32 (Mk IV) and driven a fair bit in an (older) S3 - TBH, they are completely different animals. The R32 is more of a GT cruiser than a hot hatch. It's not massively quick (although it's quick enough), it's thirsty (we were averaging low 20s), it's heavy (courtesy of the AWD), but it feels so very special - and the noise from that 6 pot lump and the twin pipes is simply fantastic. The S3 is much more the stereotypical hot hatch - revvier, will feel more nimble through the twisties and is likely to offer more of out and out driving experience than the Golf. If I had to choose between the two ? The Golf, all day long - loved my Mk IV and would have a Mk V in a heartbeat. Whatever you decide on, I'd always recommend going for the lowest mileage and highest spec you can possibly afford. As a wiser person than me once said - you don't make or lose money when you sell a car; you make or lose it when you buy one.
  6. Didn't Eric Pickles have 21 days to call in Robinson's Tesco application, starting from when the self-servers in PCC gave their approval on 6 August ? Anyone got any updates / news on this ?
  7. From nigh on the back row of the Itchen North, I made the mistake of looking directly at the lights over the Kingsland - the brightness was retina burning..
  8. That would do very nicely..
  9. My bold.. FFS.
  10. From their Tifosy site - What if the campaign target is not reached? We will use this money to start installing the first youth academy pitch, and doing preparatory work for the remainder of the project. What if the campaign exceeds its target? We will inform you of the amazing achievement when it happens. We also need to install some additional training facilities for the academy at Roko. We will send you an update once we reach that stage. https://www.tifosy.com/campaigns/pompey-academy
  11. I've heard Reed is causing a lot of ill feeling with the camp with many players unhappy with the way he conducts both himself and his business.
  12. The Twitter picture wasn't taken in the entrance foyer st SMS - it's too narrow, no desk, wrong type of barriers, no wall with writing on..
  13. Expands on his interview at the awards ceremony.. [edited by admin - please use link to article on Echo website]

  15. I think there's a guy called Mike who works at William Street Services - opposite the entrance to Shamrock Quay.. http://www.williamstreetservices.co.uk/
  16. Makes sense.. Someone has posted on another forum that SLH will bow out owing ~£5.5m to unsecured creditors - news that has triggered frenzied excitement amongst our six fingered neighbours, it seems. Will have to see if I can find out who is owed what..
  17. Other than the shareholders, is there a list of outstanding creditors ? Were any of these creditors of Southampton FC, as opposed to the parent company ?
  18. He is their biggest, brightest, bestest hope for the future..
  19. 11.10.2013 - Ashley Brown: The Supporters Trust owns somewhere in the region of 59% of the football club.. 03.01.2014 - Ken Malley: The PST board has unanimously agreed to accept a £450k injection of cash from the club’s President Investors to enable essential, long overdue safety work on Fratton Park to be completed. As a result of the additional investment, the PST remains the majority shareholder in the club with 52.7% of the shares. 10.04.2014 - Ashley Brown: The PST currently owns just under 51% of the club with a group of 11 presidents making up the remaining share. A few more quid spent on mops, buckets and training cones and it could be game, set and match for the LNWs..
  20. 'External funding' = [even more] dilution of the PDT stake. The HNW must be pinching themselves at just easy this has been..
  21. Not sure how much of a compensation package he'd be owed anyway. Press reports at the time of his appointment stated he was put on a 'standard rolling contract' but they didn't specify whether that was a week, a month, a year, etc..
  22. If that information really was leaked to Alex Crook before they've even had the deciding board meeting, then it's just another example of how amateur, how unprofessional and how tinpot that club has become.. Surprised ? Of course not..
