6 minutes added on. Time for 3 goals then!
-
In the same way that Benali was destined [one day] to score a goal?
-
Er, one? All the same, I agree it is disappointing. Nevertheless, Morgan served us well and got his deserved step up to Champs League; Clyne is a mercenary and aimed for the dollar signs. The others? Meh!
-
Pretty accurate I'd say, except it took Targett about 35 minutes to warm up! And Romeu's early 40-yd shots are still going up...
-
Yasss! Now, come on! 4-1 at least.
-
Got to be kidding!
-
Why are we shooting from 40 yards out?! Mind, is it better than last season's attempts to walk the ball in from 6 inches? This is nervous viewing.
-
Got away with that slip.
-
Ooh good move. Close!
-
I've got Danish commentary so not a huge problem - don't understand a word haha. Aww bad miss!
-

That looks a good starting line up to me. Direct & attacking.

Post-Match Reaction: SAINTS 3-0 Vitesse Arnhem - Europa League R3
5string replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Highlights on BBC Breakfast this morning. Cracking goal from Pelle, nicely worked by Long and brief interview comments from RK. (No highlights of Wham except report of manager sent to stands ) Great start to the season! -
Absolutely agree with this. Glad he returned, though. Also spoiled the end of his career (stats-wise) by playing for too many other teams. Rod Wallace the other one mentioned earlier that I think should have stayed.
-
"Clasie will follow four other players into St Mary’s this summer, as the club continue building toward the new season." No mention of an enforced rebuild then?
-
Chambers (& Baird? Can we get him back?) would add to the competitive defensive options.
-
I'd prefer him for a 'sloppy $hlong'.
-
Thank you. Correct. It was the use of those two words I was highlighting. Although I would say more of a squad build than a mere touch up - we're in Europe after all, need a bigger squad. Re: Mr VectisSaint, my 'bedwetting' comment was tongue-in-cheek, though it seems to have touched a nerve... maybe in the bladder department?
-
"... key men – Schneiderlin, Nathaniel Clyne – leaving and Koeman forced to rebuild during the summer window." Oh ffs! MSM encouraging bedwetters again!
-
No. The only other teams who may try to 'pluck' from us are the so-called 'Top 6' - [just about] including Spuds. And lets face it they pluck from everyone they can, not just us. This is the Daily Fail trying to put us back in our 'place'... again. How often have teams like West Ham, Sunderland, Everton or Villa raided our players recently? No, it's not about us. We're doing ok, thanks. Not the biggest, but big enough and still growing, still improving.
-
When did Lovren play for England?
-
I would suggest you need 16: two stadia per group, so simultaneous matches could happen at crucial stages. I suppose some groups could share a stadium cos not all matches happen at once. But I'm just nit-picking... I agree with most of what you said.

Thread title: Paul Scholes in the Independant erm... Independent. Do I win 'Pedantic Grammar Nazi of the Week'?
-
Obviously, win something. But I would be happy if we could maintain our PL position, or similar. There is seemingly an unofficial 'tier' system going on in the PL, with Arsenal, Man Utd, Chelsea, Man City currently ahead of the rest. Liverpool, Tottenham + 2 or 3 other teams in the next 'tier' - it would be nice if we could be one of those regularly. Maybe Swansea, West Ham, Everton, Stoke, Newcastle (if they get their shiite sorted) would be the other expected frequent members. Maybe even Villa & West Brom? (Just my opinion, don't murder me for it!) Fighting for EL spots and maybe even squeeze the occasional CL place if any of the top 4 have an 'off' season. And a good Cup run. Being in that position would make me happy.
