  1. Can't understand the negative response to Theo. Ultimately if he is backup to Armstrong then he improves the team. Clearly an upgrade on Smallbone.
  2. Ralph's post match interview at Palace suggested he wants another attacking wide option. I wonder if we would be interested in Buendia from Norwich with some of the fee raised with the sale of boufal
  3. SKY SPORTS TRANSFER CENTRE RALPH SEEKS SAINTS REINFORCEMENTS Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl has confirmed the club are actively looking for a new midfielder following the sale of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg earlier in the summer to Tottenham. Club Brugge striker Emmanuel Dennis has been linked with the club but Hasenhuttl wouldn't be drawn on the reported deal involving Wesley Hoedt going to Belgium. Alex McCarthy will remain the No 1 Saints 'keeper despite Fraser Forster returning from his Celtic loan. Forster or Angus Gunn will be loaned out this season, Hasenhuttl confirmed. He said: "More needs to be done, absolutely. We know we have lost a No 6 with Pierre gone and we need to do something. There is a long way to go. "There is still time to go but we have a good XI. We have a lot of games this season so we'll need some alternatives."
  4. SKY SPORTS TC: SAINTS COOL NTCHAM INTEREST Southampton showed initial interest in Celtic midfielder Olivier Ntcham but that is no longer expected to lead to a deal. It’s understood Lyon and Porto are also interested in the 24-year-old, with Porto trying to sign Ntcham last summer.
  5. Steven Davis was 8
  6. Agreed, he has established himself well but I feel Fulham will drop at the first time of asking again. Dale Stephens has less than a year left on his contract and given his age Reed may be seen as an ideal successor.
  7. Seems Fulham and Palace are the interested parties. That being said, if Brighton were to show an interest they'd be front runners. His family still live in Worthing and he is frequently back in town.
  8. West Ham next when Moyes is inevitably sacked
  9. Unfortunately we knew he preferred the Premier League ... " Nicolas Holveck, president of Stade Rennais, is the guest of the "RMC Foot Show" to take stock of the transfer window. He indicates in particular that the arrival of Salisu is largely compromised #RMCLive
  10. D) Jim's vague response didn't clarify if it's transfer, contract or takeover news. It could be in the right thread and equally it *may* not.
  11. This story was released by Sky Sports in May. 2 + 2 = 5 An American-based company has held talks to buy Gao Jisheng's majority share of Southampton, but the coronavirus pandemic has held up discussions. The group has shown interest in purchasing the Chinese businessman's 80 per cent controlling stake, which he put up for sale earlier this year. They have been described to Sky Sports News as the only serious player in a potential takeover, following interest from more than two parties. However, it is understood those talks have been disrupted by the coronavirus pandemic and a deal is not close to being agreed. Previous owner Katharina Liebherr, who sits on the board and retains a 20 per cent stake, is said to have been actively involved in discussions
  12. Yes, but he is past his prime. Ings has just turned 28 and hitting his prime, it's different for every player. My point was a long term replacement for Romeu in that they play the same role and he will likely leave after seeing his contract out. Personally I think we have a ready made hojberg replacement in Reed so he doesn't need replacing.
  13. Really like the look of Douglas Luiz at Villa. Tenacious, good at breaking up play, quickly closes down the opposition. Only 22, was bought for £15m last summer so I imagine his stock has increased some what. This could price us out of any deal, but would certainly be an upgrade on an ageing Romeu.
  14. http://stream-cr7.net/manchester-united-live-stream.html
  15. Transfermarket values him at 7.2m, so certainly not a bargain buy/loan as many expected
  16. Guan and K Billy's noticeable absence on here today is quite telling, obviously nothing on the cards. Complete trust in Ralph to see this through, I just hope injuries don't come back to bite us.
  17. Reading between the lines...
  18. Smith Rowe gone to Leipzig. JKA free to leave now?
  19. Get him in Ralph
  20. For north of £15mil I'd rather we just went for JKA. Worked under hassenhuttl, natural finisher with skill and pace and likely to make us more money in the long run when inevitably solder to the scousers. Yes, he would be a record signing but I'd be happy with just him in this window. JKA, Redmond and Ings is a mouth watering prospect.
  21. Clear penalty at the end! Inga, Moi, Vestergaard and Redmond all played very well. Must play with 4 at the back from now on, different side after changing.
  22. I never mentioned Blackmore, I said peach never stated what you "claimed" he had said. This was also posted early this morning, a lot can change throughout the day. I'm off to rejoin the optimists who have an interest in seeing the club do well rather than you pessimists who would get off seeing us crash and burn.
  23. Peach never stated no incomings, he said it was quiet with the window coming to a close. If arsenal were to offer a player of welbecks ability about the club would at least entertain it, or at least one should hope they would.
  24. Only 12 months left on his deal, he would be reasonably priced I imagine. Just can't see us being able to afford wages unless Forster goes. Here's to hoping, a great window if we bring in welbeck
  25. Zero fight in that second half, players can't be assed. If that isn't a message to the board they've also lost faith in him then we deserve to go down
