La Liga blocked the transfer. So psg and Neymar had to go around it by getting Neymar to buy out his contract. So I imagine that was actually the case. Crazy!
-
Why does everybody keep saying £30 million. His release clause is €30 million, so just over £26 million. Also the wages he's supposedly after don't match our top earners so I can't see that being a problem. £20 million plus on a transfer fee seems unlikely from us though. Everton will probably sign him on deadline day just to be *****.
-
If Walcott was a smoke screen for this then fair enough. Younger, player of the year in Russia and can find the net. £30 million seems unlikely though. But, as others have said £30 million is the new £15 million. Inflations a *****! Get it done Les and claw some of the respect from the fans back.

DONE DEAL - 3 and a half year contract http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11671/11211390/theo-walcott-joins-everton-from-arsenal-on-three-and-a-half-year-deal http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/42715223 I'd be intrigued to know if we were ever actually in for Theo. £20 million is peanuts in the current market. A massive opportunity missed here IMO.

Huddersfield have already agreed a deal for Pritchard so can't see them letting Maddison go too. Having said that he looks some player. Maybe reed could put a good word in.
-
I agree he could go to better clubs but he has the history as a school boy and shined for us at the age of 16. It's a world cup year and probably his last chance at one so we in his and his agents eyes could see us being the perfect club for that. He will be seen as the 'star player' and if he can project us up the league come may then Southgate will have no option but to take him to Russia. If he were to go to an Everton or west ham with a much larger squad is he guaranteed to start week in week out? Secondly he will see the success of players getting into the England squad such as Bertrand who was in a similar situation at Chelsea. He needs game time and thats what I think it will boil down too. He's just the player we need. Direct and uncomfortable for defenders, can play anywhere in the front 4 and will give us the confidence we need going forward. Wages is the only issue I forsee. All IMO of course.

The advert was produced a while back now. I'm sure our stance may have changed back and forth a lot since then with everything that has happened. From Tom's post it seemed Kat was Happy to sell to Liverpool however she is no longer in control so everything has changed.

Not sure on the pronunciation but this is fitting

With the takeover complete id like the new owners to bring in gylfi as a welcome gift. That would be a great way to show us their ambition for the club
-
Lacking that creative midfielder. Just give Clement the £40 million for gylfi after the game
-
I'd much prefer a 10, we have some quality out wide already, I'd even include Bertrand and Cedric in that. VVD and Long out Gylfi and Davinson Sanchez in That would be a top window and financially viable as the money out would be about the same as the sales of those two, but it won't happen.
-
Van Dijk --- Luiz --- Cahill A formidable back 3 if he ends up there
-
I think this is the general feeling for most fans. How can we expect our best players to commit when the last few years have seen mass exodus. The only way to keep hold of van dijk is to show the intent to push on. Spend decent money on a couple of crucial first team players such as gylfi and van dijk may well be swayed, even if only for another season. Come on les ffs!
-
We currently sit at 33/1 to bring in gylfi. If him being spotted turns out to be genuine there is some serious money to be made here
-
I would disagree, played at a club that has been threatened with relegation the last couple of seasons, while we have consistently finished in the top 10. £45 million in this market is a good price in my eyes for a player that could take us to the next level, he's what we've been crying out for. I'd be happy if we signed nobody else and added gylfi.

http://www.skysports.com/football/news/12691/10929681/southampton-to-keep-virgil-van-dijk-and-cedric-soares-after-agreement-with-mauricio Let's hope this is the case. It would be nice to have one window where we hold onto our best players and add some quality rather than replace them. -
