  1. Meant to say... I thought jay looked lively, often alone. Don't get how people can genuinely question Gaston, he is class.
  2. Would have snapped your arm off if I was offered 2 points from stoke and arsenal, thought we were prime for a beating in both. The team look so much more resilient now. Our Nige has done wonders with the defence of late. Change the record Alpine. We played well, and that's a good point against an inform Arsenal team.
  3. You are a master of of turning positives into negatives.
  4. Good result. Our Nige is doing wonders with that defence. Look so much better now than the start of the season. Decent performance. Certainly positives there. Feel for Guly, had to go for that. Looked gutted at the end.
  5. I don't even care who now. Just any keeper, they cannot possibly be ropier than ours. Loan out Gazza, he'll come good in time. But someone for now please.
  6. Get him in the team! He's the saviour!!
  7. Really?
  8. Bloody hell. What is it with us and keepers?
  9. Uff
  10. Do you really not think there is a reason he can't get in the side?
  11. Tony
  12. Fair enough. As I said I wasn't sure how well it would work if you hadn't read the book. I guess a great story, is a great story.
  13. Out of interest had you read the book?
  14. Took the gf to see this the other night. I really enjoyed it, having read (and loved) the book, I was pleased at how well the film stuck to the story, even with a few bits taken out. I was sceptical as to whether the book would translate to film very well, but hey really made it work. Unsurprisingly for Ang Lee it is visually stunning. Just wondered if anyone else has seen it, and what they thought? Think it may split opinions. I heard a guy on the way out saying "I thought it was going to be like jungle book", suggesting he probably hasn't read the book. I wonder if that influences people's perceptions of the film?
  15. Hmmm, I totally missed that one too. They do, but, how many of those players (AT bring one of the few exceptions clearly) can you say are at their best or have their best years ahead of them? To me, it seems Hughes/QPR's recruitment policy was a bit blinkered by names that had achieved previously instead of looking for those likely to achieve in the future or at their peak.
  16. No doubt he did a v good job at Spurs. Particularly getting them into Champions League. But realistically, that squad had far too much quality to go down.
  17. I don't really get it. Spurs were never going to get relegated. Pompey stayed up buying players they never paid for. Triffik manager!
  18. What is this uber-fan I've supported saints longer than you bullsh!t? What does it matter when people started supporting the club?
  19. Oh really? I missed that entirely. Last I saw was AT saying how much he loved his country and he was desperate to help them anyway he could. Odd.
  20. I just don't get this guy, I really do not. He clearly has talent. But one minute you hear of talk a potential £15-20m move to PSG, AC Milan, Barca, Real. The next, he can't even get into the Moroccan national squad. Maybe it is just my ignorance, as I admit I know little about the state of the Moroccan team, but surely this doesn't all add up? Is Taarabt really that good? Are Morroco really that good? Can anyone shed some light on this?
  21. I couldn't possibly fix a match, I can't even spell my own name. I'm just a triffik manager, with a triffik bunch of lads.
  22. I thought if anything he parried it right back to the middle of the box aka the danger area. He was terrible at Fulham, and again yesterday. I thought I was being harsh on him for the second at the time, it was a crowded area, and a decent strike, but it was pretty much straight at him. Couldn't help feeling just throwing a leg out may have been more effective in the circumstances. As the name suggests I am a huge fan of the guy, he has been a hero and fantastic servant for us, but sentiment here may cost us. I think he himself knows it. I wonder if its a psychological thing with him? Some doubt from back in his black cats days? After the Fulham goal he just looked like he didn't want to be on the pitch. Seems he feels out of his depth to me. As for Boruc, who knows what the deal is there. Something clearly has to be awry for him not be able to get in the side ahead of the chuckle brothers. Yes, he has always been an oddball, but eccentric Goalkeepers aren't exactly unheard of. I've deputised as a keeper a few times (yes I am wholly aware it is entirely different), and have come to the conclusion you have to be baths!t bonkers to want to do that week in week out. The situation does appear odd, but I'm convinced either something has gone on behind the scenes or he just really isn't up to it anymore. Either way, we are unlikely to ever know what goes down in training each day, and rightly so in my opinion.
  23. Going better than I thought it would. Honestly thought we'd get a pasting today. Happy j-rod grabbed a goal. Gwarn lads!
  24. Maybe some of these mongs will just never in a million years be happy. Even if we signed Lionel Messi I'm sure some on here would stamp their feet and throw the usual hissyfits. It shows how clueless some are if they genuinely think managers at any club these days have 100% over transfers. It just doesn't happen, it makes no sense to. How on earth is a manager meant to train and coach and manage a team 7 days a week and still identify potential players? What is the point of a scouting network otherwise? They would be an expensive waste of time if all transfer were sourced by the manager in his spare time. Further more, the people at the club are football people. They work in the industry day in, day out. I imagine they know just a little bit more than us plebs. Just because some on here haven't heard of him, doesn't mean he isn't any good. People have already mentioned people like Pahars, Golac, and there's still Michael Svensson. A lot of people probably didn't know too much about Michu in the summer, now probably half those same people are saying we should have signed him.
  25. Yeah possibly. I'm not advocating this as a first choice solution. More as a stop gap until Lallana is back? Or even if it is worth considering. I'm not so sure fox will. It would mean replacing him with someone, who is most likely going to be second fiddle to a 17 year old. Not sure how many footballers would be dead keen on that, unless of course we got in someone top class to play ahead of him? Which is probably A) going to cost a lot & B) stunt Shaws development. In which case Shaw would have to be loaned out, and we would then need yet another LB.
