Hopefully, this can be a serious debate. I'm not writing this for point scoring, or d!ck swinging. I am genuinely curious. Around the 10 game mark, when things were looking pretty bleak - a number of people on here were told us relegation was a certainty, the transfer window was a calamity, we would be well adrift come January, and most importantly Adkins was clueless, inept, out of his depth and needed to be shown the door, immediately. It would be interesting to see if those who said this still would like a change in management, or that we are dead certs for relegation. I still think it's too early to say. We clearly are not out of the woods, and we still have a long hard slog ahead of us. I still 100% believe Adkins is the man for us, and am glad and pleasantly surprised he is still at the helm.

It would be extremely naive to think many managers have 100% control over transfers. This is only going to become more the case with the decreasing shelf-life of managers. It makes little sense in that respect really. People are overly hostile to this notion. If done well, it can massively benefit the side. You only have to look at Newcastle over the past couple of years to see this. Alan Carr's dad has a large role in player recruitment. Served them pretty well.

No, part of the reason they let Boruc go was because they couldn't afford to renew his contract. Italian football, like the country at large, is in financial turmoil. If you look at the league as a whole there are few big transfers happening. The exception to this is transfers out, like the £50million-odd AC Milan got for Zlatan & Thiago in the summer. Fiorentina have been skint for ages, they did a Rangers only a few years back. No way in hell will this happen. He may leave, but it certainly will not be to Fiorentina for £20m.

We got one for the office t'other day (I work for a games company). I had a little play on that ZombiU game, it was pretty good. I was impressed with the graphics, for a Nintendo Console. The controller is a bit odd, and the switching of action from the TV to Controller screens takes a bit of getting used to. There was enough to suggest that this one has a bit more than just the novelty factor of the Wii. Time will tell I guess.

It's as if they get off on being as awkward as they possibly can, or going out of there way to refuse customers. Once got refused to be let on a bus when trying to pay for a £7.60 fare using a tenner. Walking away, I turned to my gf at the time saying, well that's a bit useless, which he apparently heard, started banging on his little window and calling me a f*cking w4nker. I just laughed and gave him a thumbs up whilst queueing for a different bus, to which he got out of his little cabin (which is illegal, technically) and made for me. He then realised he was half my height (not talking myself up, he was seriously about 5"2 and I am about 6"3), so quickly bottled that, and had a chat with the other bus driver and genuinely said "Don't let him on - he called me useless". Everyone on the bus laughed at the dwarfy little muppet, but I wasn't allowed on the bus. Idiot.

Oh don't get me wrong, I think he would be great for them. I think he could do a solid job for any team he played for. I just meant that I struggle to see Rodgers going for him. Just my opinion, one that could very well be totally off the mark.

You are right, he did. But, from what I have seen of DG (albeit limited), he does seem the same type of player as Rickie?

Yes, Lambo would offer an option, and they are short up front. But as Rodgers has said, he wont sign players that don't fit his mould/philosophy. It seems he likes players who are quick, mobile, sharp passers and able to run at players. For me, I just don't think Rickie would suit Rodgers philosophy. I also don't really see him turning to a 30 year old. That said, I'm sure Rickie would do well up there.

I must have missed that, I was a bit patchy in following the F1 this year, but it sounds completely believable. It's another reason I dislike Ferrari - deliberately having a 'weaker' racer/car decreases competition, the same goes for Alonso, as it just shows his petulance. I have to be #1 in my team or I am going to throw a massive sulk, why not just go out and beat your team-mate? Ferrari have always gotten away with murder, then have the cheek to play the victim at every given opportunity. Seriously, **** 'em. I hope McLaren & Red Bull d!ck them next year. Are you confused with Hoy there? Wiggins has to be the coolest British Olympian of all time. Totally agree with Ellie Simmonds, that girl is amazing. Would love to see a paralympian win it, they truly are awesome, in the truest sense of the word.
