everyone was up in arms and when an unknown Goalkeeper cum Physio Nigel Adkins was appointed, everyone was saying how terrible this was and that Cortese didnt know what he was doing!! Lets all protest about Pardews sacking!!! Turns out Cortese did know what he was doing! Fast forward 2 1/2 years and here we are again! Cortese is an astute business man and is not afraid of making unpopular decisions in the best interests of what is ultimately a multi-million pound business. It is his decision and however unpopular, we can't do anything about it other than support the new manager and the team. I remember when we were about to appoint Glenn Hoddle for the 2nd time, he was on his way here in a car on the M3 and Rupert changed his mind and the car turned around because of the potential fans backlash. This weak decision by Rupert cost him and us dearly as he lost his job and we went downhill rapidly from there. Bottom line if the fans ran the club or were involved in club decisions, we'd still be back in league 1. However unpopular, Pochettino is an inspired and brave appointment by Cortese and like Nigel when he came here, he deserves our support and doesnt deserve to be undermined by protests and stupid clapping. The timing sucks but thanks for all you've done Nigel but it's time to move up to the next level. We fans are fickle, when we win a few games and sign a couple of spanish/Argie starlets, you never know we'll all be happy and we'll all be chanting Pochettinos name in no time

I've heard that nigel was told by cortese a month ago that he was going and was free to look at other jobs!

set to be released by Manure in the summer did we dodge a bullet?
-
I liked the bit where he said that the end of Jan now we're out of the FA cup was a good time to get some sun!! Great idea Nigel, work on your tan instead of your team
-
Wigan were the unnamed club that tabled an offer for Lambert in the summer. NC wanted 5 million to do business but valuation wasnt met Liverpool want Rickie in January which would be impossible for him to resist so better get hankies ready! Maybe we could get Carroll as a P/X?
-
does it matter? Hope he recovers and my thoughts go out to his family. Great attitude!

this is the update from dreamteam this morning: Few predicted Jason Puncheon to do much damage this season (shame on us) but his 15 point performance against Reading propelled him to three Star Man awards (one more than Hazard) and 52 points (15 more than Silva). really has been a great player for us so far and it's starting to get him noticed now for the right reasons! Well done Punch
-
out for 3 months I reckon!
-
wish we'd had him for longer, but would he be the player he is now if he had stayed at Saints? Pretty good golfer too!
-
I spoke to someone who knows him well and Harry actually said he could never come back here but was contacted. He was really interested in the Ukraine job and was also offered £6 million a year to manage in Dubai but turned it down because he doesn't need the money!! £6 million a year? I'd take £1 million over six years!!
-
he may be a talent and one for the future but can we afford that right now? What seriously worries me is that when the day of reckoning comes at the end of the season and we stay up or go down by a point we can directly attribute where and when things went wrong. For me we won a scrappy game 1-0 last night. But we didn't did we? The look on Snodgrass' face when he scored was one of surprised embarrassment I want Kelvin back now
-
hang on, I think I've found him!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2shpVmA3k0c
-
he changed his name and went to work for UBS as a stockbroker
-
isnt it funny though, the bloke signs a nice new bulletproof 5 year deal and results start taking a downward turn!!

I think Yoshida is a shrewd signing in that we are shifting a lot of shirts in Japan and have attracted a great deal of media coverage over there. Also I noticed our advertising hoardings had ads translated into Japanese. I like yoshida but I think he's not good enough at this level. His clearing header yesterday that didnt go out nearly presented Newcastle with a gift

Le tiss was sat behind me yesterday with his wife & Laurie Mac in the Sea Talk box. During the substitutions, most of the fans in the ground stood up to appreciate the departing players performance but Matt didn't get out of his seat for any substitutions...... apart from Gaston Ramirez. Tiss was out of his seat, on his feet applauding as Gaston came off bit of mutual respect there i think

good for pardew, I like the bloke!
-
This I thought I was the only one that noticed that CD knows absolutely nothing about SFC and when questioned about them he sounds like a politician talking expenses. I remember him being asked about the FA cup final and he said good luck to Pahars!!!??? Idiot! Now Lucy Pinder sounds like shes actually a fan but a couple of those all time 11 are seriously dodge.
-
it could be that through Guly indescretions, he may have broken club rules which may give cause to level the playing field reference 'clause'? I think TURKS is right there is something in it. It's like when pardew kept playing joseph mills when he was massively out of his depth. I hope that the 'interfering' has gone now
-
fans are triffick

davis for me! Gazza is out of his depth, Boruc is overweight. Davis is the consummate pro and was inspirational last season. You dont just become a bad keeper over night and I think he should be given another chance.
