In a selfish kind of way for Saints I was almost hoping the he wouldn´t make their WC squad, think he would benefit from a break now and a proper preseason. I´m not sure playing him and Lallana together is the problem, for me he needs a striker with better movement than Lambert can offer so he can put his throughballs into the game more.

I´m also not sure over the ambition of the board at the moment but cant see that more than 2-3 players and (possibly) manager would leave which would be devastating as f*ck but I also dont think they should get played by medias fiddle. Any comments without really news at this stage would only increase speculations imo.

In may no club really know what they offer their fans in august though...

Depends on what outlook you have on it. I read the discussion as if 2009-14 was an isolated period and then I thought so cause coming in to it 2009 we were a L1 club. If you expand that and the outlook is for example 2004-14 the answer would be different for obvious reasons. 2009 we were an L1 club and the achievement with back to back promotions (+ the tin pot cup that you´re allowed to participate in because you´re a L1 club) is a bigger task for me than if you´ve been a PL team for 15 yrs and finish something like 13-17th.

Ok. So what did it have to do with Pulis? Staying up in PL year after year because of basically one player is not the biggest of achievements from a clubs point of view imo (no matter what how proud I also felt of it) and personally I thought our football in those yrs 99-04 they were talking about was quite frankly appalling (probably misspelled) and nothing I ever talked widly about with friends and fans of other teams that weren´t watching us week after week. These last years I think we have had an identity on the pitch and never more than this season and I think the club has got more recognition than ever before which at least gives me a lot of pride to be a fan of the club.

My comment was mostly because I though you were belittleing it with your smug question about Pulis winning it...
