Let´s say you want to assett strip it, which scenario would be the easiest? (not saying it is happening though) Sell players for £80-100m and then sell the rest of the club to someone for £10-20m? or Trying to sell the whole club including players for £100m? I think you might find quite a few out there willing to pay £10-20m to own a PL club, to find those willing to pay £100m is harder...

Was it THAT limited though? Didn´t Everton have one of the biggest wages to turnover ratio? Just because they dont buy expensive doesn´t mean the budget is limited, just used in a different way.

I´m not doubting the position we´re in. I´m doubting that what we get for sold players actually will go back into the squad and once you start to save money on the squad you´re flirting with disaster. And it´s not so much about losing MP (which though is a great disappointment) but also what the players will feel at the moment as it is very clear they love playing for him. The manager coming in has a great task. Has to either be a name that inspires the players in itself, like a De Boer/Begkamp combo or that manager has to make the same first impression as MP did when he came in. Doesn´t change the love and support for the club, just that it at the moment is very much up in the air in what direction we´re going.

If we want to keep the squad together it has to be a very good name and I for one dont think Howe, Laudrup, Poyet etc will do that. Someone like De Boer (together with Bergkamp) would probably get the players attention and interest on top again, Yakin or Tuchel can do that but need to make a great first impression on them as MP did when he came in. Pleast just not a safe choice like Moyes, Mclaren or someone like that...

I dont really get the chain of thought between "swiss owner and therefor interest in a manager from a swiss team".... Not really like our owner has that kind of football knowledge/interest, and the only one on the board at the moment regarding the footballing side of business is Les Reed....

A manager that see us as a stepping stone and who want to make a market for himself in Premier League, non-english preferrably for me. Never ever a manager that sees us as the biggest job he will ever get.
