I have a number of Sunderland supporting mates and they all have no doubt if he is fit he’s the best striker in the league.

Quality player who could and should develop into England’s first choice at some point if he stays fit. Good move for the lad who will get game time given that Newcastle also have Europe and Trippier is no spring chicken. Best of luck Tino!

Is anyone else suddenly feeling we are going up? Automatic promotion here we come?!?! I just feel it in my waters….. yes lavia will go but most of the team will stay together and we’ll go up without breaking sweat.

Some gambles on the city academy will make it as we’ve seen. I think this one will make it.

2 or 3 nil to Saints. Once the first one goes in everyone will relax and realise we’re suddenly a pretty good team. Lavia, Alcaraz and jwp is the best midfield we’ve had in a long time and now the defence looks solid.

I just hope he isn’t rushed back. Man U is a tough tough ask and if he’s not 💯 then I’d wait for Brentford at home.

Alcaraz….. Too good for the Championship! Quality player.

Other than the first 20 mins or so I thought we played pretty well. Alcaraz really makes a difference.

He seems calm. Not sure he’s the best manager but giving the players the right mentality to play from is key! the boys worked hard today.

Surely the obvious play was a 2.5 or 3.5 year deal with a club relegation get out clause so that we could reconsider if it didn’t go to plan but it could be spun as a longer term deal to the players and media?

I thought Alcaraz was very good again yesterday. Often the furthest forward pressing the defence and looked to play forward passes.

Surely he has to go tomorrow. Even we aren’t that stupid. This guy is a worse manager than Ali Dia was a footballer. Ludicrous appointment.

I’m all for giving people a chance but this guy is useless and should be sacked immediately. If he has any morals he’s donate his compo to charity as he hasn’t earned a penny of the money he’s been paid by the club.

Against my better judgement this will be my son’s first match at st Mary’s. can only hope they sack NJ before the game or I expect the mood will be dour.

I was planning on taking my 8 year old to his first home match next week but I’m worried I’ll put him off saints for life. #jonesout
