Cant see the point of getting rid of an experienced left winger like Holmes who has proved he has the skills at this level and above before he got injured. Give him some more time yet. I think he will come good again.

Hammond or Jaidi.....or Lambert....or Trottman.....or Connelly....or Papa. How long is it since we can say that we have made that many good signings in two months?

Let's not get carried away. Ince will have them spiced up for a match at SMS (even though their ground could be better than ours if they fill in the top tier) so we should be wary of a run of results. Take one match at a time and pick the fit players IMO.

Hope we can ditch the no-talent soon!

A combo with an older head with some touch and vision, i.e. Hammond (not Wotton), can only help to improve him. Gillett off the bench as support.

I'd stick James on the subs bench or send him out to another team. IMO Thomas looked very comfortable (and impressive even) at RB in the first 1/2 and gave us a lot of attacking options with Mellis ahead. This all but disappeared when Thomas went to CB and James to RB.

The Directors box did look a bit sparse yesterday for the first game of the season. Must be the new regime where they have to pay for their tickets. Good to get rid of the freeloaders like Wiseman, etc.

Totally agree that James had a good season there and grew a lot in stature and confidence. Is James a midfielder or RB or just a plug when we have a problem? I saw him more a a maturing midfielder but, hey-ho, that just my take.

The only hope is that he stays fit for the season as we have precious little cover for him in that position if Lloyd James is to move to midfield. Still a welcome addition of an old head with positional sense in this league.

This is only Woking and Farnborough though. Thomson needs to show same pace and commitment when it matters against teams trying to kick the sh*t out of him or leave him behind. I hope he does blossom as we need some talented wide/forward players.

This looks like a sensible move. In this league, and the one above, we will need big CBs to counteract the lumping CFs. They need to be fit and injury-free too. Shame we didn't realise this last year

This is not a "God he's been here a week and we haven't signed anyone...I'm desparate" thread...too many already. But there is a distinct lack of rumour-mongering going on for players that are potentially Saints bound in the press or among the ITK-ers who live or work close to SMS. What's up? This can't be all teutonic cloak-and-dagger, it's the Football League in England and its usually as leaky as a sieve. We need more of this entertainment on this forum otherwise all we have is outbound players and HCDAJFU fantasy. C'mon guys at least make something up!
