  1. Northampton is, in fact, south of the Watford Gap but obviously north of Watford. A shout out to my Local team, Brackley Town (aka The Saints and play in red/white stripes), who beat Eastleigh 1-0 in their first National League game since promotion.
  2. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2025/08/07/leeds-strategy-staying-premier-league-sign-massive-men/ Interesting read that Leeds have taken the approach that some of us have called for in that we bring in proper athletes and units for PL life rather than lightweights. Granted that Quarshie and Downs fit the bill.
  3. Pinder in the box? Disgraceful abuse of position. Craig D would be worthwhile to lead some singing.
  4. It's funny, I thought that's how this forum works.
  5. Maybe a wild guess that Lallana would be a better coach, and watching Stephens on the park doesn't fill anyone with confidence.
  6. There's no way that Stephens will go down the coaching route to the same degree as Lallana. He has zero knowledge outside his position and even then has no idea what that is or any tactical awareness.
  7. Suggestion appeared on t'internet that we could go for Dubravka in return deal
  8. That is an interesting point and could happen in theory. However, UK companies continued to trade with Russia in 2024 totalling £1.8 billion. Sanctions are meant to prevent Russia from continuing their war against Ukraine. Not sure that a football transfer falls into that category.
  9. I have no idea whether or not SFC sent any money into China. But we accepted a good slice for Pelle. Also there may not be any sanctions vs China but there seems to be a blind eye cast upon Uigur persecution. There is no way we would know if the money would go into Russia either. Their ownership may ultimately be elsewhere. The world is awash with dirty money, politics and atrocities. My point is that to raise concern for one avenue is not consistent when there are so many others.
  10. I don't think we can be too bothered (or precious) seeing as we had a dodgy Chinese majority owner for several years.
  11. Brackley Town could do with a new striker
  12. At 5'7" he's not exactly the kind of physique that cuts it in the Championship, let alone the PL.
  13. Let's not forget that he is not only not good enough for the PL, he is barely good enough for the Championship as demonstrated by our (albeit flattering) extended unbeaten run last time without him in the team and the problems he presented and evident mistakes when he returned after injury. This extension is madness unless it is just cover at a reduced rate and the captaincy is not fixed in stone.
  14. A la U2 until the end of the January transfer window ... "Will Still hasn't found what he's looking for "
  15. Kebab house league
  16. Brackley Town's new kit for 25/26 promoted to the National League Prem. They are aka The Saints.
  17. Andy Townsend after he left. Erased us from his football CV.
  18. Dave Beasant shopping at Bicester Village. Definitely a fashion bypass victim. Standing next to Joe Royle having a piss in the loo at a black tie do. He reminded me of times he scored a few against Saints (apparently).
  19. And he was f*cked by Saturday
  20. And a tolerance for Mars bars
  21. Yes, it was an earlier 59-year period in our history, but (despite a possible next year in candy stripes again) we are becoming increasingly indistinguishable from Brentford, Sunderland, Sheffield United and Stoke who we are competing with every year to some extent. A return to dark navy shorts would set us apart and open up a lot more strip possibilities for the future.
  22. Needs dark navy shorts to be 100%
  23. Nice reply Turkish. No one bit on my question 🤣
  24. Just for info, The Guide Dog has been bought out by Steamtown brewery and a complete refit will happen over the summer.
