Fulham v Stoke - away win Arsenal v Villa - home win Norwich v Everton - draw QPR v United - away win Reading v Wigan - home win WBA v Sunderland - draw Meaning a win could put us 11th, assuming West Ham lose to Spurs.

We won't finish 10th this season, I think the highest we can manage taking everything into account is 12th or 13th, and that'd be a stretch. 14th or 15th this season is fantastic, double promotees and all that, and next season we can start to build up to bigger things.

Depends on how much game time with a 'big club' he gets. You need to start early to claim your place, although tbh there's not really a whole lot of competition so yeah, why not?

might go ahead and put a team forward for this, looks fun

Jay Rodriguez has gone up in value IMO. Not by a lot, mind, but if I was wanting to sell I'd be asking for... let's say £10mil (maybe 8.5). Gaston, on the other hand... down to 10 I suppose.

This would be epic, after the game, thanking the fans for helping him to the end of his first season in England, after the Saints finish in the top 10

I did look that up as well, pretty much on the money there. Stats below. Sort of weird that there are so many strikers, but you can put them in a sort of 3-4-3 if you wanna play Jones and Walcott as playmakers... doesn't really work! GK: Tim Flowers - £2.4m RB: Chris Baird - £3.025m CB: Dean Richards - £8.1m LB: Wayne Bridge - £7m RM: Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain - £15m LM: Gareth Bale - £10m RF: Theo Walcott - £12m LF: Kenwyne Jones - £6m ST: Kevin Davies - £7.5m ST: Peter Crouch - £7m ST: James Beattie - £6m

worst arsenal 6-1, best man city 3-1 i guess

Most important player signing of past 3.5 years?

Good effort from the scum, Suarez world class (but petty) as usual.
-
Haha yeah, that formation would be more likely, but we'd be really thin in the middle then... either way it's not an ideal lineup, I just took the most expensive players!
-
So it's not spam, but I wrote a blog post on the most expensive Southampton lineup ever... because I... like doing stuff like that. It's interesting how cheaply we were able to get certain players over the years, and considering the exports we've made (Bale, Walcott, etc.) I think we're a pretty damn good business! I'll put the lineup below, so you don't have to read the blog, but it's a bit more in-depth if you wanna take a look. Basically, our most expensive XI is still less than Fernando Torres. And yes... I know my name is stupid. GK: Paulo Gazzaniga, £2.5m RB: Nathaniel Clyne, £2.5m CB: Rory Delap, £4m CB: Vegard Forren, £4.2m LB: Jelle Van Damme, £2m CM: David Prutton, £2.5m CM: Nigel Quashie, £2.1m AM: Gastón Ramírez, £12m RF: Jay Rodriguez, £6.5m CF: Kevin Phillips, £3.25m LF: Emmanuel Mayuka, £3m Total cost: £44.55m Torres cost: £50m (lol) http://andrepusey1.wordpress.com/2013/02/20/most-expensive-saints-xi/

Can't think of any others since Fabrice Fernandes, although probably the best before that was ol' Tommy Traynor, what a name! Lot of assonance in Adam Lallana, too
-
I've always thought it's much more difficult to predict how good goalies are going to be ultimately, as they peak at weird times and usually more than once. Plenty of Premier League examples from the years to look at. Cropper looks decent, at the moment probably more Championship quality, but no reason why he can't make the step up if he gets a chance here and there.

Giving the clap to the fans? Sounds like more of a Liverpool thing.
-
'bout time really, in'it?
-
Shaw's world class, he will start. Ramirez is back I've heard, as is Guly. Sounds like Fonte is back too, so pretty much a full squad to pick from for the first time in a while! Forren has to feature this weekend, it's getting ridiculous.
-
He has made a few good runs as of late, and obviously full-backs want to get involved in the game, but I really value the RB and LB of old, who don't get forward and who actually work as 3rd and 4th defenders. Shaw will be great, whatever he decides he wants to do.
-
But then where would Lallana go? Shaw isn't showing anywhere near the same attacking prowess as Bale did, although it is only early days I admit. I hope he stays in defence, because I think he can develop into a fantastic full back who can tackle, pass, and intercept; he just needs to work on his positioning and awareness (I'm thinking corners here).

Nice.
