  1. Not really. Looked like they could have been playing alternate full backs depending on the strengths of the opposition attackers. Both have been benched when fit before this season, so its quite interesting to hear that they view Chambers as the best, long term RB.
  2. Apparently at the Balague event at Waterstones, Jesus Perez strongly suggested that the club saw Chambers as a better RB than Clyne. MoPo seems to pick Chambers far more reguarly, so Clyne could well leave. He would certainly improve most squads in the league..
  3. I agree actually, good response from the Cardiff fans when he went off as well.
  4. Obviously gutted for him and nice to see that the rest of the squad is, but the focal point of Saturday really should have been Hillsborough hence why it was maybe slightly inappropriate. Nice gesture but poor timing imo.
  5. Rodgers has to win it, if Everton get CL then Martinez will be a close second. Third place going to the most remarkable great escape story!
  6. Agree with Alpine but think Clyne would be more likely to go than Chambers. If Lallana has a fantastic world cup, I think some big offers could come in and both he and the club would be tempted to accept. On another note, I can see Forte, Hooiveld, Guly and Isgrove moving on this summer for nominal fees.
  7. Was undecided about it. Obviously a nice gesture, but maybe a little OTT, particularly given that it coincided with the Hillsborough weekend.
  8. Agree that he's an exciting prospect, but wouldn't say he's ready for any sort of first team football at present, especially given our supposed level of ambition. Think he'd benefit from going out to a League 1 club, getting regular games and scoring a few goals.
  9. Yesterday made it pretty clear that without Jay Rod, we seriously lack attacking options. Gallagher has missed a couple of good chances coming off the bench this season, not done much else wrong but not ever looked seriously threatening. I'd get him out on loan next season, hopefully sell Osvaldo on and then bring in 2 proven goalscorers in English leagues. Bringing Guly off the bench to try and win us the game makes any ambitions of catching Everton and Tottenham up look like a bit of a joke.
  10. Rodriguez also scored twice...
  11. Personally disappointed that Fox isn't nominated
  12. Lallana - no question. Lovren, Shaw, Rodriguez all excelled as well.
  13. Strangely because by pulling a "stunt", they inspire other people to donate as well... Means they get more for the charity.. Make sense?
  14. Fonte also has a big family car with a similar numberplate. Also seen Mayuka in a white mercedes.
  15. Given the position we are in, I would much rather see some of the academy kids coming off the bench for the last 10 minutes of a game if required. Gulys not getting a new contract and so far the academy boys have done very well indeed!
  16. Cynical but a lot of management speak. Said a lot without actually telling us anything...
  17. Please... Shaw is very very good for his age, but at the moment its a longshot him even going to the world cup. If he was the best in the world he'd have been a regular for England for at least a year. Putting him ahead of Marcelo, Lahm, Jordi Alba etc. is ridiculous!!

  19. Good thread! Since we've only been relegated once from the top flight in my lifetime and that wasn't exactly a pleasant experience I wouldn't be keen to swap positions. That said, if we were in Sunderlands position on the table, I would probably back us to stay up assuming we bring a decent striker in.
  20. Valencia have just sold Postiga and Guardado. Theyre apparently interested in Osvaldo - could catalyse the merry go round!
  21. Depends on the ambition of the club. He was sold to us on striving for Champions League football - if that goal has changed and we've lowered our sights a bit I think he'll be off in the Summer.
