  1. Boruc, Shaw, Skrtel or Agger, Lovren, Clyne, Morgan, Gerrard, Lallana, Sterling or Rodriguez, Sturridge, Suarez. If you give Sterling the benefit of the doubt, theres still 6 Saints players in that team. Okay, an argument could be made for Mignolet and Johnson, but were really not that far off Liverpool. Thats why this Summer could be so frustrating.
  2. St Marys - just said someone had seen a lot of press outside the stadium. Think it was a fan. Could be completely made up/a very funny joke though.
  3. Twitter rumour that there is a press conference at the stadium. Could well be made up.
  4. Looks like Spurs decided to hire RK instead of Poch.
  5. Statement will come soon and should clear everything up. Very good sign if new youth coaches are appointed, particularly if they're Spanish speaking.

  7. apparently they "didnt spend enough time with the players"
  8. Not quite so sure now, no. Haven't heard any new info, but if the initial info was correct, I thought it would be wrapped up by now! Sherwood sacking will have had an impact I guess.
  9. Unless of course, KL and RK have proposed a new 5 year plan... (they have)
  10. He's staying (90% sure). Can't say source before you ask.
  11. Good asset - hopefully a pull factor for players from other clubs as well.
  12. Most important thing about this signing for me wouldnt be that he's a decent keeper. Leicester have a good side, money to spend and a clear ambition of reaching the top 5 in 3 years. Whether that will happen is another thing. Nevertheless, why would he consider a move to Saints if our plan was to move on our best players, get rid of the manager and bring in average replacements. Obviously this is no way a done deal, but for me it would completely put my mind at ease as it would signify that we have a direction and its positive enough for a player in his situation to want to be involved with.
  13. the combination of thread title and name of poster had me worried.
  14. Need to hear something soon - not sure my nerves can handle much more of this! Would make my decade if we get a "Pochettino, Shaw, Lallana and Morgan sign new 5 year deals...Osvaldo shipped off to QPR". In all seriousness, his training brawls with Joey Barton would be worth televising.
  15. ...meaning?
  16. If Poch stays, Im not worried at all - means he's happy with how we'll reinvest/spend
  17. I believe Reed DID give a statement very recently. If they stick to their word, we have nothing to worry about...
  18. All will be clear in next 2 days for me. If Poch joins Spurs says a lot about our ambition (or lack of it) and I would expect Luke and Adam to clear off. If he signs a new deal I will be very excited for the new season.
  19. True. Academy players current value and potential value is different though. A 27 year old peaking left back returning 1 assist and no goals who has had a solid season defensively is not worth £30m. The point about spending another £60m actually reinforces the view that Leicester could progress as thats exactly what they intend to do!!
  20. Agree with all of that and maybe the point about them winning the league isn't really relevant. Maybe our squad was better suited to the Premier League, but we have also transformed our squad substantially since we went up. It's not as though they've got a poor squad though, some good young players like that Liam Moore, mixed in with a bit of experience with Vardy/Nugent. If they're willing to spend and build their squad up, as we did with Rodriguez, Clyne etc. but spend DOUBLE what we did, then they're certainly giving themselves a good chance of progressing and thus providing us with some competition. All of that said; spending the money is one thing, spending it well is another. They're also not exactly a glamour club, so it won't be easy to attract players without paying them a fair bit.
  21. No idea - sounds a lot to me. We came second in Championship whereas they've won it, we've since had 2/3 academy establish themselves as regulars (Shaw, Chambers, Ward Prowse) and have only spent £60m in two seasons (30m wasted on Osvaldo and Gaston). If they spent £60m a season and it was spent well I can certainly see them giving us a bit of competition around the 7th/8th mark, if not higher.
  22. Haven't seen much about them on here so thought I'd post as it could be a factor in our future. Leicester are apparently going to be spending considerable amounts with the aim of pushing top 5! If they spend a lot of money and they spend it well, then theres no reason why they can't in my opinion. Apparently have £180m to spend over next 3 seasons. QPR are another one that, if they come back up, will most likely splash the cash. Their track record isn't great, but if they learn from previous mistakes, they certainly have the financial muscle to pull of some decent signings. Burnley are a good side, however problem don't have the same level of financial backing. May also lose key players. Derby look decent enough. Would need strengthen significantly to be competitive IMO. The teams going down are worse than those likely to come up in my opinion. Where does this leave us? If, and its a big if, Leicester and QPR were to spend £60-80m each and buy some quality players, would it affect our goals of breaking into the top 5/6? Is the potential of greater competition making RK and KL reluctant to spend? Thoughts?
  23. I notice that Gonzalo Bueno didn't quite make the cut...A dodged bullet?
  24. Has Le Tiss been on yet?
