  1. Viable that he would want to leave given the influx of AM's into Liverpool's squad, but find it hard to believe he would go anywhere other than a CL team. Would certainly be interest and if not top 4, Tottenham (Poch factor) and a host of European teams would love to have him. Would surely take a lot more than 11m for Saints to get him, unless of course, it is part of a Lovren/Rodriguez deal.... Cant see it.
  2. Seen him 3/4 times and never been impressed (was dreadful when I saw the U21s get demolished by Exeter U21s last season). Clyne was preferred at LB last season and he is only just younger than Shaw. That said, Saints and England have stuck with him for a reason - players develop at different rates so you never know! Based on what I saw last year though, he isnt ready for first team football just yet.
  3. Agree, Clyne played LB over him.
  4. I've slept on it and realised there is surely no chance of getting him (would absolutely love to eat my words on this one). At 14m, would probably the best worldwide signing of the year - unless he's a troublemaker or has a strong inclination to play under Koeman and this first chance that RK has had the money to make it happen, I can't see why he would even consider coming to us.
  5. Doubt its true but would be very good signing. Signing someone like that would certainly send a message to ex, current and future players.
  6. Going to put my neck on the line and relay that Pelle will be Soton player before of the week. Bear in mind same source told Poch had verbally agreed to stay 3 weeks before he signed for Tottenham...
  7. Koemans first day on the job today - imagine they'll want to do business quickly. Also, would make zero sense to sell ANYONE else to Liverpool until after 16th - why play Lallana/Lovren/Chambers/Ali Dia twice when you have the option just to play them once.
  8. False Libero in twitter seems to think we are geting Ings - know him personally and not the sort to make things up/fabricate.
  9. Average squad without him. Playing with a player of his quality could well be a big factor in why Lallana etc. want to go there
  10. absolutely brilliant course in Easter - would thoroughly recommend! Kids loved it and will definitely be going in Summer. For those interested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=66V3Ekqj_XA. Am I too old to join in!?
  11. At times we played with a back 5 last season. Wanyama sat just in front of defence and Shaw/Clyne/Chambers very high up the flanks. Cork/Ward Prowse/Davis would fill in when the full backs were out of position. There isn't room to play a flat back 3 AND Wanyama in my opninion and given that Koeman is known to play very attacking football, I'd imagine he'd agree.
  12. Ronald Koeman and Ralph Krueger having the same initials really isn't helpful. For that reason, Bruce in...
  13. Possibly particular positions that we are looking to strengthen? It has also previously been suggested that we will reveal details about a managerial shortlist - if they were going to do that then this would be most likely, logical instance.
  14. Can't think that he'd bother if it was anything but good news/further reassurance.
  15. Already being discussed in manager thread but as he will be talking about a variety of issues probably deserves its own thread. What do people think he will say?
  16. I've seen him 3/4 times in academy games - hasn't stood out at all. My friend also reffed a few games in academy games, shares my view that he's nowhere near Shaw. Given that he's only 3 months younger than Shaw and Saints seem to favour playing Clyne on the left when Shaw is out, I doubt he's anywhere near ready for PL. That said, he's playing England age group games and has signed a contract with us so there must be something about him. Nevertheless, borderline zero chance of us starting the season with him as a number 1 left back.
  17. Dont worry, he'll get stick for broadcasting that out
  18. The False Libero tweets are genuine. Good friend of mine - used to post on here and I know who his source will be.
  19. Sentiment aside has anyone considered that we might be bringing in a quality striker. Lambert may be thinking, I can get more money whilst making the odd appearance at my dream club, possibly with my best mate Lallana there as well. The alternative is I can sit on the bench at a Saints team that's likely to finish between 7th and 10th. Lambert going for £4-8m isn't terrible business - especially if Saints intend to bring in 1-2 quality younger replacements and Lambert's contribution would have been limited anyway.
  20. So we're about to sell ALL of our best players and bringing basically no-one in.Yep, sounds likely to me. Everyone needs to CALM down. No-one has been sold and the messages from RK are positive. Nothing to do now but trust the board to have an improved squad on 18th August.
  21. £9m is a good price, but starting next season with only 3/4 players from 2013/14 is very dangerous, no matter how good the players that we bring in our. The squad needs gradual change if they want to move to a more sustainable model - relegation next season will benefit no-one. 11/1 with bet365 doesn't look a bad price at the minute!
  22. Krueger has really set himself up here; on 18th August we will certainly know what he is made of. After what he's said about how were getting the "best new managers" in the world it would completely undermine both him and the board if we now appointed someone mediocre. It would also send out a message to other clubs about our level of ambition and how the talking/walking of the board might not necessarily align. He either looks bizarrely out of his depth and weak, or his PR is genuine and we look strong for rejecting big offers, appointing an exciting manager and going into August with an improved squad. He obviously wants to reassure the fanbase but I guess you could argue that he is an experienced sports leader and would be unlikely to make promises if he was fairly convinced he couldn't keep them. Would he really risk his reputation for the sake of appeasing the fans for a couple of weeks? My personal view is that we will appoint a manager with a solid reputation who is known for playing a similar style of football. Lallana, Shaw and Morgan will go, but we will spend money replacing them (albeit cheaper alternatives). We will then also spend a fair amount on a new striker, perhaps shipping Osvaldo out on loan again and sign a back up GK and possibly a versatile CB/LB. The new manager will hopefully try to get the best out of Ramirez (would basically be a new signing) and we will finish the league upper midtable with the board being able to say they did enough but we were unlucky/had a disappointing season and couldnt quite force an improvement on last year. Can see that pattern repeating for a few years; our best players being unhappy with finishing midtable and leaving the club, with the board doing just enough to maintain our position. Even if we had Man City money, I don't believe we would be able to buy improved versions of Lallana and Schneiderlin and we certainly wouldn't be able to attract a player of Shaw's potential. None of them have been vocal in saying they would love to stay at the club and given that all of them had strong relationships with Pochettino, I think it is likely that they will try and push through a move. None of this is based on fact, but given the strong focus on our ambition that was tainted with the "we will have to make short term decisions that the fans may not like", the above is how I see it panning out.
  23. Where is this Mike Vimpany comment?
  24. Someone on twitter claiming it was them who photoshopped the Pochettino picture..
  25. This. He manages to use the words "you know" almost twice a sentence in most interviews.
