  1. Post Office staff told that they had to make up for money stolen in robberies; https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-68086588

  3. Just shows how fucking clueless and out of touch they are.
  4. Where does a business that imports fresh cut flowers find an alternative source outside the EU to replace the business previously done with the Netherlands ? Remember, these are the border checks that those arch-brexiteers JRM and Lord Frost opposed, saying they would add £1Bn to business costs.
  5. What sort of mortgage payment increases from £800pm to £2000pm ?
  6. Car adverts on the TV - "Vehicle shown is not UK specification", so why show us something we will not be able to buy ?
  7. You could just as easily post that on the Russia thread - Orban barely manages to conceal his support for Putin.
  8. So that falls into the same category as having a crown on pint glasses and being able to run our own vaccination programs.
  9. Did we have that before we left ?
  10. Don't take an Argentinian flag.
  11. Like it or not, as with Manning, he is our player and he's here for at least the rest of the season.
  12. In his 9 years as Liverpool manager Bob Paisley won 6 league titles and 3 European Cups, with 3 League Cups, 6 Charity Shields, and 1 European Super Cup to go along with them. Klopp became manager of Liverpool 8 months before Pep took over at Manchester City. Under Guardiola City have won 5 league titles, 2 FA Cups, 5 League Cups, 1 Champions League, 1 UEFA Super Cup, 1 World Club Cup, and 2 Charity Shields. ( Plus, in his managerial career he has also won La Liga and the Bundesliga 3 times each, 2 Copa del Ray and 2 German Cups, 2 more Champions Leagues, 3 Spanish Super Cups, 2 Uefa Super Cups, and 3 World Club Cups ). Klopp's legend is far greater than his achievements.
  13. It actually started after 1945 when the Empire started falling apart. 😉
  14. According to the Observer, in the last 4 months 4 Rwandans haver been granted asylum in the UK due to their fear of persecution at home, in their "safe" country. And in the Sunday Express, Rishi Sunak is said to be targeting the over-50s to gain their votes in the GE..........Here's one voter on whom he is wasting his effort.
  15. Before we left the EU how was the import of these products managed ? Surely the EU manufacturers aren't now making products that fail the EU standards that we used to accept, just to send to the UK. ( And the argument works equally for UK exports to trhe EU ). Presumably it is because, post-Brexit, the UK has chosen to diverge from the EU certifications, in which case it is another stupid own-goal by the spiteful, eurosceptic, headbangers.
  16. Come on Fulham.
  17. Mass cremation of season tickets...... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-merseyside-68118572

  19. The joys of the English language ; "'Queen Camilla visits King Charles in hospital after prostate treatment", nice to see she is looking after herself but I wonder what he is in for.
  20. Obviously "tapped up".
  21. Don't forget the Canada deal is all about cheese.
  22. The problem is that he will need to be "Tory light" to get elected, as with Blair. Traditional Labour policies won't sway enough swing voters, or garner the necessary support from media outlets.
  23. Today's evidence was from a PO investigator in Northern Ireland, concentrating on one specific SPM's prosecution. The SPM had had several days where the system would not balance at end-of-day, and she had reported it, to no avail. Eventually she was hauled in and interrogated about certain of the days when these discrepencies had arisen. She had no explanation other trhan Horizon was at fault, and was told she was liable and would be taken to Court. Taking a second look through the dates presented to her, she realised that luckily on one of these days she had in fact not done the end-of-day accounts, as she had taken one of her children to hospital, and in her stead the District Manager had deputised for her, and it was he that had been unable to balance the system. This effectively showed she was not at fault, but this detail was omitted from the evidence file handed over to the PSNI, and she was taken to Court. In Court the SPM managed to get the redacted evidence heard, and she was exonerated by the jury, with the Judge saying the Post Office's investigation and prosecution was a "sham". The result of this case, I think in 2006, and it's effective judgement on Horizon, was clearly known to the PO senior management, but ignored as investigations and prosecutions continued.
  24. Shirley
  25. Only if it was justified, same as I would criticise a Labour Chancellor if he did the same as Hunt. Are you pointing the finger of blame at Starmer for the Horizon prosecutions ? If a politician, of any persuasion, is caught out lying, cheating, or fabricating truths they should be called out.
